The 69th edition of the Filmfare Awards, hosted by filmmaker-producer Karan Johar, actor Ayushmann Khurrana, and TV host Maniesh Paul, unfolded with a dazzling display of glamorous red-carpet moments, captivating performances, and inspiring victories.
Power couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt emerged as the stars of the evening, clinching top honors for their outstanding performances in films released last year. Held in Gujarat, the ceremony saw Ranbir Kapoor named Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) for his compelling performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s controversial film Animal. Simultaneously, Alia Bhatt secured the coveted trophy for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) for her remarkable portrayal in Karan Johar’s romantic family drama Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
The accolades continued as Vidhu Vinod Chopra was honored as the Best Director, with his biographical drama 12th Fail earning the prestigious title of Best Film. The film triumphed over tough competition from Animal, Jawan by Atlee Kumar, OMG 2 by Amit Rai, Pathaan by Siddharth Anand, and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

@@Fhhddthbbchjkkog man i agree that his performance has been deteriorating after bahubali, and he had a bad run till salar, but salar changes things, yes there was not a lot for him to do in the movie and that's the directors vison. We cannot seriously blame him for not expressing what not in the script itself. Despite the slow motion sequences and limited screen presence of prabhas. The movie as a whole is amazing and The world building is great. Just saying if the movie stars prabhas even if it's a terrible story along with bad casting the movie easily collects 200-300 crores just because of prabhas's stardom. Fans might have seen something in him.

Salaar is a good movie. It's a mass entertainer, it's a shame that you troll that film just because you don't like it. It's very different from KGF the color palette is same as KGF because it's Prashant Neel's style. The story was awesome.Prabhas played a character was of a serious, less talking more action type of guy..if he keeps taking and had more dialogues it wouldn't suite his character. And Animal's story was average it was only Ranbir Kapoors performance that sold the film.

@mensxp I completely disagree with you that SRK did not deserve an award for JAWAN. His monologue at climax, bald emotional terrifying & voice changing performance at beginning in train hijack & aged stylish cool performance as Vikram and moustached emotional dignified classy performance as soldier was soo much range and quality that it deserved an award. Ranbir was good but people also forget that at some places i felt he was overacting.

@@gauravnayak6423 thats the truth bro 😂, ask any sensible person who did a better job , first Of all srks character was full on mass dailogue baazi type , all other south actors do what srk did on daily basis in such mass movie , but rk character and animal movie was once in a lifetime performance , pehli baat toh aise characters bante hi nhi hai , doosri baat aur koi actor ki himmat hi nhi hoti animal krne ki , and lastly woh ek aise character tha jismein ranbir ne method acting ki hai ,not typical dailoguebaazi , woh actually character bann gya hai , playing a 16 year old , 27 year old , 37 year old , 60 year old , and not just a typical character , playing such a different character , and all the phases of his life , ranbir pulled each and every shot with pure conviction , no other actor can pulloff what he did , even in action you would see him in character, his eyes are enough for most actors career , only a fool wont understand it

I know this was all in jest, but Hrithik Roshan has won the Best Actor Critics as well as Popular choice award for Koi Mil Gaya - Just saying! I personally felt the awards were mostly fair - no one can ever agree with all winners as everyone has their individual choices. It's pointless debating. @@ravinderdasila9334 yes it has been for many years now. The only difference being there were no nominations for the Critics choice earlier. Also, in one instance (Manisha Koirala for Company, Best Actress - Critics) an award was bestowed for a performance not even nominated in the main category.

Most of these awards are far away from fair. If an actor refuse to show up than they rarely get any award. Ajay Devgan, nasiruddin Shah have already spoken about the stupidity of these ceremonies.
