The number of points he creates with his steal (by far the most/game) is so underrated. When people look at stats they focus on points and assists but with his 2,8 s/g it’s like minus 5 points per game for the opponent and + 6 for his team thats just insane for me. Definition of an MVP
His off-ball arm when penetrating is unbelievable. Super sneaky. Allows for just enough separation to get his shot off while not obvious enough to be called an offensive foul.
Dude went from being in trade rumors (good but might not be a franchise guy, should probably flip him and start over with the picks) to MVP convo in a season and a half.
Having Chet and Shai together is actually kinda brilliant when you think about it. Usually, an inside-out game relies on the big on the inside and the guards on the perimeter. But having it flipped, where the guard is the inside threat and the center is the outside threat, pulls the opposing rim protector out of the paint and lets the guard eat them alive on the inside. The closest I can think of to this style was maybe the 2013-2014 heat when Wade and Lebron were inside threats that frequently drove to the lane while Chris Bosh spaced the floor as a center (playstyle-wise only, not tryna say Shai is as good as LeBron or something lol). I think in the next ten years we'll see more teams try to replicate this, although it takes a special guard to be this good in the paint and not many could pull it off. (Luka probably, maybe Derick Lively will become a consistent floor spacer and we'll see them try a similar scheme).
It’s hard to believe a guy with that kind of offense (at his size), is outpacing EVERYONE in the league by 40 steals. Dude makes things happen and he’s done it with one of the youngest teams in the league.
I need to see more of SGA. He's deceptive in that he's so smooth you don't realize how quick he is -- and he is a very smart player as well. My best former player comparison may be George Gervin, although the Iceman was a little flashier. Both are/were almost unstoppable.
@@osinachiuwaechia2198 well embiid, jokic, giannis, luka, shai all deserve credit, it’s really out of these 5 right now. You shouldn’t be mad if any of them get it
Been saying it all year SGA is easily one of the best players in the nba right now. 6’6” guard averaging 31 on 55% shooting is insane can’t say I’ve ever seen or heard of such an efficient scorer at the guard position.
He's the closest thing to Kobe we have ever seen. He clearly has a different body build, a different shooting form and many areas of his game look a lot more like a Penny Hardaway type, but the way he moves playing with pace and feints, the way he takes defense where he wants, the way he can hit contested shots, the way he clearly puts fundamentals before and over anything else is definitely Kobe's. He also has same mindset when games down the line.
his game is slower, but otherwise pretty much iverson game there. the jumpshot, release, drive layups, step back, fade away to the left, low dribbling etc...taller and slower iverson?
