I have been playing for 20 years now. For the first 8 years, I played rock and what not. One day my step dad showed me some peter paul and mary. That led me to John Prine and onward down through the ages. I arrived at Shakey a few years back. Most incredible product of all the influences he has had.
Every time I think I have a favorite of his, I hear another and everything becomes my favorite?! Now that’s an artist for ya. Open D never sounded so good...
This was the first shakey graves song i heard a few years ago, i had honestly forgotten it was him until watching this. I'm a big fan of the new versions of all the songs, they've all been exelent fuel for this pandemic. Thanks you
Shakey, I have a few of those Washburn parlors. The older ones (90s reissues) like bronze coated strings, the newer smaller ones like the one you have, really like the Pyramid Silver Coated strings, especially the lighter sets of those silver coated strings. Not sure if you've ever tried those, but they work really well on those little Washburn's. Not saying your setup doesn't sound nice, it does, but those silver coated strings pair so nice with those little Washburns that I thought I'd mention it.
