I had never heard of these guys but my sister insisted we go watch their show at sasquatch and holy shit... he sang the tears right out of me haha...been in love ever since.
He played oi ne of the smaller stages at sasquatch a few years back, and the crowd from the headliners stparted migrating towards him, before he was finished the crowd was pretty much considered stolen from the at that time better known artists. From what I've learned he has been doing it ever since. Hearing his music in any form, it's obvious that his voice is of the "calling type". I mean if someone els had said, sang, or played the same thing with the same sound, I probably wouldnt notice or remember, but from him, it's instantly engrained, and hard to forget. Seeing him play solo one man band sets, he draws you in, adding other players only adds to the charisma that constantly bleeds out of everything he does, says, writes, draws, designs, or lets his time be invested in. I can only imagine what it is like to be there off camera, I mean would a sandwich I you ate be as addictive as heroine if he was in the room with it too.... all I know is that its slightly creepy how m.j magnetic he id
he is so ridiculously talented! ....and if he decides to takeover the trip-hop and jazz-metal world too, I'm sure he could make them genres actually sound good too... :)
I can't find another version of "foot of her bed" anywhere. I'm haunted by this song and "Halloween" but sadly can't find the songs anywhere on Shakey's website. Hmm.... Oh well!
slimturnpike Can't say for sure with pedals. but shakey has used a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe religiously as long as I've known when he's on the road. They're super affordable if you hunt used offers!
Not sure if you'll see this but I literally made an account to help yo ass out, first guitar I've bought so far, I'm not so sure about the white that Shakey has but both available finishes are sexy as hell www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/fender-modern-player-telecaster-thinline-deluxe-electric-guitar
