As a polyglot myself I can tell that shakira has a gift in languages and she is very fluently while speaking. I also speak 6 languages and now learning my 7 and at times is very hard to switch while you still connected to another. Great job shakira ☺️👍🏻

Nothwithstanding the cliche, you have to love the language you're learning. For example, I speak fluent German, Norsk, and (obviously) English. I have never found learning German difficult because I love doing it. It just depends on your interests, man.
It depends how your school teach you France if it is memorising words then you will forget it eventually you should connect with the culture and history fall in love with the language.
Fall in love with a girl that only speaks French and you'll be fluent in no time. Motivation is sooo important (though talent and a good teacher also help)
She’s such an intelligent , multitalented, and multifaceted artist and person. This wasn't just knowing a few phrases -- she is fluent in all of those languages. Amazing. Makes it even more embarrassing that I can barely speak more than one.
In your defense, the other 5 she speaks are very closely related Romance languages. They're very similar and you can pick up a lot because so much is shared. English is the oddball here. While the structure and syntax is German, we still have a ton of loan words from our little foray in France in the Hundred Year's War and the fact that England had French kings on the throne before that. About 40-50% of English vocabulary has Latin roots. I'm not saying it's easy. I speak reasonable Spanish and some French, but nothing even close to what she does.
@@kma3647 I think I understand what you say, but a lot of Italian people cannot speak Spanish at all. I am fluent in Spanish, my native language is French. I learned all the parts of the languages: Vocabulary/grammar/Listening dictation One can speak a language well if he knows the grammar. My Columbian friend is fluent in English, not a problem, but she cannot make it in French at all.

@@da-eu My comment has some typos. I didn't say every single language in the video was a Latin language. But most featured in this video are romance languages from the Latin language family. That is Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and French. English is not included. There are many other widely spoken languages in this family like Romanian, Catalan, etc. But it's still amazing to me that she speaks four of them and in these clips, she didn't mix her words at all. From someone who speaks 3 languages and 2 romance languages, I often slip up.

Bero Boss i guess it’s the same linguistic group but there’s a lot of different words, pronunciations and tenses. it’s not one language, it’s multiple! gotta appreciate shakira’s talent for being able to beautifully and fluently speak all of them without mixing any of them up, because they are similar. they aren’t all one language though. each language is a bit different :)

My family is from Brazil I don't speak Portuguese well but I've been hearing it my whole life. Her accent was spot-on. Don't know enough Italian and French to really judge but it sounded pretty good.

I grew up speaking Spanish, I learned English at the age of 10, and I learned Italian in college because in order for me to enter a Phd. program I had to get a third language. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT. This woman is amazing. I admire her as a singer, I respect her as a language con·nois·seur.
Karla Rodríguez yes! I speak English and Spanish and know sign language. Every version of me is different. English version is more proper, sometimes snotty. Lol. Spanish version is crazy, funny af! And my sign language personality is just nice, laid back.
She made little mistakes in french but it's cute. In fact, French is difficult even for french people. And I don't think I speak spanish as well as she speaks french.

It amazes me that many countries outside the United States teach their children to speak more than their native language. That is a great life skill to have.
Bear in mind, that we actually HAVE to speak a second language if we don't want to be secluded. I'm Danish, and with only 6 million ppl in our tiny country, we're taught English and German (geographical neighbor) in school. When you hit 8th grade you can add French to that.
In Brazil we learn English during middle school and Spanish during High school at public schools. It's not really good, but it shows you the basics and motivates you to keep learning. It's actually necessary if you want to have better opportunities in life
All latam countries have english in their school curricula. And in my country you can not get a bachelors or masters degree unless you have an intermediate english level. And then some people learn other languages for fun. Like me. I'm having a hard time learning french but is never too late

@Isabella AN ofcourse coz she is from Colombia, her native language is spanish, but i meant that she learn to speak portuguese probably in Brazil or her portuguese teacher in Colombia was from Brazil, thats why the accent.
She seems to speak all the romance languages. They are very similar, so its not a big surprise that she speaks 6 languages. I'm probably close to speaking 6 languages myself.
