Shakleford Banks Shelling, Horses, Dolphins, and Swimming while visiting Emerald Isle NC - July 2023 

July 25, 2023 - We caught the 8:30am ferry (first ferry of the morning - Island Express Ferry) from Beaufort to Shakleford Banks. Within a few minutes we saw horses walking along the shore of an island. A few minutes later we saw several dolphins. The ferry was a 25 minute ride to Shakleford Banks, where we saw more horses when we arrived. We spent 4 hours on the island swimming and searching the water for shells (we found some nice conch and whelk shells, and a shark tooth), and then caught the 1:00pm ferry back to Beaufort.
