The part Shakur is failing to realize is most of his criticism comes from the fact he says he is going to knock this guy out or going to do this or that to a person in the ring and when the fights come he doesn’t live up to what he said. U can’t get upset at people for holding you accountable on what u said u were going to do. Same for Dev he said Ryan was a C level fighter and I’m levels above him but when fight night came he got dropped 3 times by the same punch. Best advice is to Sayless and over deliver. Before blaming others look at yourself in the mirror and own up to your part in things before painting a pic that everyone is against u.
Every boxer for the most part says they are going to knock out an opponent and they try too during the fight. The thing with Shakur is he doesn’t even let his hands go to at least try. He’s boring af to watch.
I agree with the Shakur part, but that Dev part def gets a pass giving what was exposed afterwards. We cant keep ignoring that it helped that CHEATERS performance. Yes he didnt adjust to the left hook but once again the peds helped Ryan performance. 2 things can be correct. They both was dumb imo. Dev's gameplan and lack of adjustments and Ryan cheating.
If Mohammed Ali, sugar ray, Leonard, etc etc etc had a loss then it’s absolutely fine to take a loss. BHop took a loss in his first fight, it’s absolutely fine to lose come on guys.

They’ve all fought great fighters and won or close hard fights, what great fighters have those others guys beat? Spence got destroyed, Haney best fight was Loma and arguably lost, regardless of Ryan maybe on peds, Haney still couldn’t adjust to the left. Charlo? Lol..pitbull? What about him? One of the things I’ve always liked about Ward is when he talks about boxing he’s no nonsense. It’s always his honest perspective with no fluff, no bias, and no favoritism. Just facts from his viewpoint.

Excellent interview. Shakur is engaging and a very intelligent young man who has the character and talent to be the face of the sport. I pray he gets there. His next move is important and I hope it is to Matchroom Boxing with Eddie Hearn. This young MAN has it all.

I use to think I was going to win a lot of money on that fight. That was before Shakur’s last two fights. It seems Shakur doesn’t like to be hit. & that’s a real problem. I’m happy that fight didn’t happen because I would’ve lost a lot of money
Great interview. Shakur don't be emotional about opinions. Remember most of these critics know nothing about boxing. And Arum has a track record all of the best fighters did much better once they left him. Arums biggest misrepresented fighter was Crawford. It's horrible what he did to Bud. Bud should've became a household name 7 years ago. Bud was supposed to fight Manny Pacquiao and Bob blocked that fight. We're NEVER going to be treated fairly because of the God's we are. You're definitely one of the best fighters in the game.
Shakur's last fight was only disappointing because he didn't show me anything new. But prior to the fight, i knew he had the skills to be one of the best. And i still believe he is one of the best.

I watched the Artem fight twice to make sure I wasnt just jumping on the Shakur hate train. Hes actually boring. 1.) He rarely punched in between Artem. Just shelled up while he was throwing punches then initiated his own offense once Artem was done. 2.) He only throws 2 punch combinations max 3.) He doesnt try to get the TKO when he has him hurt.
He is a good dude. That's really easy to go against in this social media world. He is a super talented hard working confident competitive young dude. He believes in his skills more so than most boxers, he wants the smoke and will have to be protected from himself at times. I'm a fan of the skills and the kid.

Shakur. Just from what I see. He is very talented and skilled. The look in his face though when he's fighting; looking scared in the eyes, making that face. It looks like he is afraid to get hit. He very rarely slips a punch and tags you anymore. He totally avoids the mix up. He evades to the point where it's like resetting. Super intelligent feet, but not letting his hands fly. All that can be improved upon. He's got to get off that bike, sit down on his punches and go. That's what I keep tuning in to see. The old Bob Arum didn't hepl much either with opposition selection to showcase his skills. He'll get it together soon though. Shakur has the tools to be great.

In all honesty, truthfully, i feel like Boxing fans have/had very high expectations for Shakur but based on what theyve seen thus far, i think people are starting to doubt those expectations, the style and performances Shakur has shown, has produced wins but it hasnt produced fans, especially not casual fans, seems like he's losing fans or not necessarily "losing" fans but garnering more expectations from his fans, people think he'll probably end up like "Bud" if he keeps winning... great fighter, highly decorated but doesnt really produce sells, Shakur may be on that trajectory but he speaks like he should be in the convo with the elite boxers that sell ppv consistently, make the most money cause they get the biggest fights, the "show" makes the money 💰

Idk why people always got to bring race into boxing. Shakur saying fans only clown black fighters when they lose is not true. Ryan got clowned when he lost to Tank and had memes made about him too but he was able to bounce back and get more wins which is why people started respecting him again. It's more so if the fighter is loud and talks a big game and then loses that fans clown them. It's got nothing to do with race.

Man i like Shakur but he need to stop with the cap. De Los Santos was engaging with him so he can't blame him for his performance. He was just scared, and once he felt his power, and realized he was just at good at countering and just as fast as him, all he could do is run and fight him the way he fought. He tried to blame Artem for not engaging when Artem was stepping to him all night. He is just too defensive and cares about winning more than pleasing the fans who paid hard earned money to come watch. Which is why his stock is going down and nobody don't wanna watch him. He also needs to stop comparing himself to Loma, cause Loma is exciting and lets his hands go. He don't stand there flinching for 12 rounds and throwing 8 punches a round.

Loma is the complete antithesis of a boring fighter Loma is tiny for 135, is routinely facing opponents who are way bigger, heavier and longer than him and has fought many legit punchers and KO artists not only his size or bigger but way bigger too. No catchweights, no rehydration clause, no PEDs like so many other multiple weight champions And he's fought 13 world champions in just 21 fights, all either in their primes or close to it, 9 of them much or way bigger than him, 10 of them bigger, 2 the same size and only one smaller than him And he's fighting on the road or in his opponent's backyards all the time too However, despite all this he still sports a KO 66% and has stopped, dropped, badly hurt or hurt every fighter he has fought at 135 with the exception of Teo who he was injured against and hadn't fought in 14 months , a division which is only his third one because he turned pro aged 25 not at 20 y/o or in his late teens. It would be like his 6th if he turned pro the around the same age as Shakur, Tank, Haney etc. did with same day weigh ins. The examples he uses are imprecise in my opinion. Loma made a "legend of the sport" (Rigo) quit on his stool after half a fight. Loma drops fighters and fought an 11 year younger, and bigger superchampion in Haney and still brought the heat. Usyk might have some boring fights, but then again he has tons of exciting ones as well in his resume. I hope this guys' race-focus doesn't stop him from becoming a great.
