Ahoy legends, this week my good buddy Shauno and I are fishing shallow surf gutters all the way to deep jigging, completing 2 fun days on the water!
We start out by taking my new tinny along the beach in some calm conditions to chase tailor in the foamy gutters, then the following day head wide in Shauno's boat chasing some critters from the deep!

Love watching the both of you fishing as good mates. As Shauno is no stranger to the camera, you two make for great viewing. When will we see Sammy tackle the cape with Shauno and get some big cape yourk fish?

Bigeye Ocean Perch, Helicolenus barathri. Not part of the same family as scorpionfishes, but they're in the order Scorpaeniformes, which is a diverse order that includes Scorpionfishes, Flatheads, Sea Robins, Stonefishes and my personal favourite the Blobfishes! Great vid Sammy!

You guys make it look so easy, I am fishing the newcastle area land based, have spent hundreds of dollars in gear and taken on board all your information but still have not come up with a fish. With a very angry wife with the amount of money spent and no outcome. Not sure whether i should give up and sell everything.

I always get a kick out of how excited you guys get catching baby bluefish. I guess I'm spoiled because I grew up catching tons of 8 to 12 pounders in the surf with the occasional 15 pounder mixed in. Still your enthusiasm is contagious!

Should tell wilson to make their oh jigging rods with spiral wrapped guides instead of traditional. They would sell alot more to compete with the other big brands. Be good to have a good range of aussie made rods.

You aren’t required to wear a vests while fishing the surf mate. Only for crossing designated coastal bars 👍

I just thought given the potential danger of fishing the surf line and your safety in some of your other vids that you would have at least worn some inflatables. Just as a safety message. All good, no intention of being a smart arse. A lot of people with less skills than you and Shaun could try this and end up coming undone. No ill intentions in flagging this.
