My buddy ‪@Captainjoshmartin‬ and I fished this shallow water redfish tournament using lures only. We did lots of topwater fishing during this trip to Steinhatchee cause of the overcast conditions and shallow water. Tons of speckled trout and Redfish were caught using the Salt Strong moonwalker topwater and Omen Soft plastic Lures. Inshore fishing in Steinhatchee is always a blast when the fish are feeding. @@AndreasChristouSaltwater Sounds like the line roller bearing on Josh's reel at the 44 sec mark of the video. Is that a Stradic? I just replaced the line roller bearing on my son's and also my wife's Stradic. Both just over a year old. Little disappointed with that. Well, more than a little lol.

@@nauticgator1828 yea I believe Josh was using his stradic. The only downside with these reels is that roller bearing for sure

Definitely lol! I’m not quite sure yet cause it has to undergo a lot more testing before I allow it to be released but I’m hoping this fall it will be available

I fish a redfish tournament every year in Texas. It's a private tournament and it spans seven days and goes 24 hours a day. It's all artificials. You wanna talk about being worn out. You only sleep or eat when you have to. Ironman fishing comes to mind.

How much was the tournament entry fee? First place payout?

I think entry was around 30 bucks per angler if I remember correctly. First place won around 800 bucks because he won the first place redfish and the Calcutta category

@@AndreasChristouSaltwater That's cheap! I need to get on one of those tourneys. I'm below you in Pasco county. Fishing Yankeetown soon wondering if the noseeums are bad at the boat ramp in the mornings? I also need to hit Sodium tackle and try your split tail finesse bait. I'd prefer white or green in color. Tight lines bro!

@@JP-mh4cs yea man lots of great opportunities. I fish down in Yankeetown and Crystal River all the time as well. The bugs have been pretty bad at the ramp pretty much everywhere just cause it’s summer time. Unfortunately my baits aren’t sold in stores yet but if you ever are interested I can definitely make you any colors you want just visit my website. Tight lines brother 🤙🏽

@@AndreasChristouSaltwater Caught a 40 inch snook today on my first trip to Yankeetown. Caught her just south of the boat ramp in bungalow pass. Caught her on a 5-in z-man root beer gold flake jerk shad. She turned my kayak 180 and started pulling me up the creek lol. I saw schools of fish getting crushed all day by giants. I really like that place way less grass and way less bait fish tearing up my soft plastics. Pinellas county and Hillsborough county is no comparison to the nature coast.
