For the Elemental mastery change it used to only increase the proc chance with more mastery with no damage amp. They added the damage increase to physical and elemental so stacking mastery passed 100% isn't completely worthless. Physical damage is for earthquake
I’m still not playing pwave but everything else is BEAUTIFUL. Keeping stormkeeper would be PERFECT but I’m not mad at all. I’ve BEGGED for a way to spread flame shock.
@@user36003 If you're complaing about button bloat it means you are unable to optimize how you set up your binds in a manner that allows you to play the spec efficiently. Thats a skill issue most likely you're probably playing it wrong. Plenty of people play it just fine. Go paly ret if you can't play the spec then. Don't ruin it for those that enjoy its gameplay.
This. Haha. I couldn’t believe it. Not to mention there was a nerf to enhancement according to some. And totemic is actually unplayable. It requires WF totem and we don’t have it. Haha. You just can’t use surging totem on beta, atm.
@@matthewalexander2780 Enhancement IS good right now. The WoWhead post just datamined pushed hotfixes to beta, but it's not all the changes. They won't be implemented until the next beta build maybe tues/wed. I guarantee they are gonna make Hero Talent changes, they just didn't show us yet because a lot of them don't even function with the new changes to the class, obviously.
A class that should have had a Tank spec for almost 20 years now. Does it at least have the TH option for enchantment? That's also what we've been hoping for 15 years ago...
As much as 2H enhance is sick and I agree it would be cool to see, I feel like for game balance it is better that it isn't a thing. Not only is managing balancing the class harder at that point, but you're also adding yet another 2H melee DPS to compete over legendaries and gear in general. So I agree, but I think it's prob for the better
I only hoped for 4 changes to start with, and got em all Raidbuff Resto - Spread FS somehow easily. Ele - Earthquake on target Reduced Ascendance CD. Now they should focus on tuning and how it all feels. Next on the list is: Tempest = Instant for both speccs and doesnt cost any resources. Also for ele it needs to be able to be cast more. Anscestor = Give rng cast reduction time on LB / CL casts, up to 3 charges. ( Does not cost maelstrom on enhance) Enhance = More range on spells, 10-12 yards pref ( goes for every melee tbh ) Resto and Enhance is right now pretty bonkers from my view. Remains to be seen with these changes if ele is also now good to go. If all 3 speccs are enjoyable..We should count ourself lucky as shit.
Always fun to watch ^^ Master of the elements has been redesigned: explains first half of what it does explains second part forgets what master of the elements is ^^
I like most of the changes and I commend blizz for finally making them, but we also needed some visual updates. I would be on the side of blizz and be like "hold on, they just gave you a spec overhaul" but we have had a lot of these visuals since Cata. There is no excuse, if you can find time for updating Warlocks so often you can get it done for Shammy. Let's not put our foot on the brake yet. C'mon blizz it's overdue!
The class tree looks a lot better. No clue what to make of the ele rework. Great chance to icefury, that button was awful. The one thing I wanted to see but didn’t was the removal of the flame shock cd or the addition of ways to spread it. Dh still has rotational cleanse and priest still has double dispel. It’s so toxic.
This is some serious cope. Any time you look up most fun classes - pretty universally and way out of proportional values people say enhancement shaman. Enhancement shaman has been praised as super enjoyable since legion. . Why would they change something that everyone seems to love? People just want change.
@@Wataheadable It's fun but it's not effective. People want to feel like they are powerful. This is a PvP focused channel so I"d expect commentary to be mostly about pvp and in PvP Enhance has been a dumpster fire for a long time.
@@Levelity Enha has always been bad in pvp yeah, it's the spec design that doesn't mesh well with modern pvp dynamics. I dunno if you can change that without losing part of the identity to make it similar to other classes.
They are going to update animations next, they said that in the post that shaman changes are still ongoing. There's no way they touched ascendence talent here and didnt put a new animation before release on their todo
Haha!! They're really pleased with how enhancement is? Thats hilarious. Lol I'm happy though. I've been waiting for elemental to be good again since mop. 😊 Excited
Excited to see us become more viable and more in-line defensively/raid buff wise with literally any other class… however, give Firenova some love pleeease!! I acknowledge that Iceshock synergizes well and creates a somewhat enjoyable weaving rotation… But not being able to take firenova at all just bc of numerical reasons is stupid
Also, us being veryy hard-capped to 6 targets feels quite underwhelming. Not sure what to do there and probably nothing will change, since Blizz is fond about their mentality of having different dmg profiles. Would love to see a buff to lava lash underlining our funnel capabilities, especially with the nerf to ele blast (which i like!) What about increasing the dmg of lavalash to targets affected by lashing flames?
Ohh and another thing i would maybe like seeing changed on enhancer side: Without having to change a whole bunch about the core rotation, I would love to see some kind of offensive cooldown on a 1.5 min cd returning. The dmg profile has continuously been flattened out (even more so with the current tier set). Returning to a 45s cd on prim wave would allow for an accompanying 1.5 min cd that really boosts dmg of every other window. Being able to consistenly put out okayish dmg is not bad, bit im missing some oompf to our profile!
Removed: Windspeaker's Lava Resurgence. Fuck, that was my favorite Ele talent. Earthshock procs instant Lava Bursts. Made the spec so fun. This isn't sounding so good, with this and the Maelstrom nerfs.
Yup that talent was the only thing that made ele remotely playable in pvp especially. Its your only way of getting on demand lava surge procs especially when your only getting flameshock on 1 target on average due to spam dispels.
You forget they’re changing the amount of Lava Burst procs based on single target to where you get more. Theyre also making it to where you’re not mindlessly casting earth shock and lava burst by potentially adding in a lightning/lava build. It’s best not to assume the worst until testing is done. It’s probably fine
Exactly!!! I recently returned to wow after I quit during MOP so many years ago! At first I was so overwhelmed and went through a few toons before deciding on a paladin to be my new main. Mainly because I wanted a toon that can play every role and not have any alts.
@@Needler13 Not really for PvP. Enh is always the kill target and they don't have the proper defensives to survive like most other classes. The spec requires a lot of 2 point talents that other classes/specs don't have to deal with. So you have a lot of wasted talent points just to reach necessary nodes. The reason Enh players were excited for a rework is because outside of PvE damage the spec is just one of the bottom tier specs in the game. Hope that answered the "why?"
These resto changes all sound good, but not quite what I was imagining in terms of a 'rework.' Like, in terms of pvp, they should fundamentally change how totems work. Melee shouldn't be able to just swap and trivially kill Healing Tide totem. Lifelink totem is awkward to use as it forces us out of position into the middle of the map. Just make it a 40 yard range from us (and not a totem). Healing rain and stonewall totem should also have a ridiculously huge radius in any pvp format.
Please tell me how Enhancement Shaman is supposed to burst with a 25% nerf to Elemental blast? What's the burst rotation? How are we supposed to score kills in PvP? Are we expected to sustain damage them to death when our survivability greatly decreases due to dampening? Mythic+ runs the game. Just forget about PvP.
this is the expac that will kill pvp man, im saying this like two months and with every "rework" everything seems to point to that. Guess we have to hard switch to mythics+.
The elemental mastery rework is needed. The old one is inherently flawed. Frankly, they probably kept the overload mechanic just for nostalgia purposes. I was rooting for elemental equilibrium to become their mastery, but this is good enough.
Enhancement is nothing but a weaker Elemental. How the fuck are they happy with it? Lightning Melee Damage, think Thor. How complicated could it possibly be? Enhancement chuck spells almost as often as Elemental rather than melee'ing.
Elemental shaman looking good!! Poor enhance haha!! Enhance got dicked far worse than I was even expecting!! Enhance got some class talents put into it's spec tree ROFLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL. Enhance sucks so bad. Nothing I hit on there feels good.
what eles want? a good uncapped flameshock spread removal from echoes removal from icefury talents that rlly improve our spender and we didnt get any of it. blizz is stupid af
Resto shaman mastery is pretty useless as you barely get to use its value since you dont get to heal ppl at low hp all the time. Rarely gets any value and to have a totem that gives 2% mastery feels like a joke. Stoneskin totem is a huge loss since it did reduce physical damage taken by 10% and in high keys you really feel that. Stormbringer was a great dps talent, you will be missed. As someone who was shaman main for 6 years, I can say these changes look interesting with some ups and downs. Testing is required to see how it feels.
What the actual??? While I like most of the resto and ele changes and the general talent pruning, maelstrom weapon flurry and feral lunge not using up class talents is something they should have done aaaaages ago but it doesnt look like they'd done a single thing to address the issue of capped AoE damage which is what is killing us in mythic plus... Hell they even reduced targets from 6 to 5 on some stuff like what the hell??
Some QoL changes to Ele and other somewhat interesting changes but all the nerfs, especially to overloads and maelstrom generation, seems really kinda awful.
If changes look like this, it is a sign that the game has become too complicated. I keep coming back to wow each year to play for like half year from 2010 and each time I come back, it feels like I'm learning new game. So much changes and complexity... It is pathetic that if they want to fix some class, they have to basically write a thesis what changes they made. 🙃
They obviously don't want to spend any money developing Enhance, alot of the changes are just talents being moved around or being made 1.. if nothing is added by release - Its time to unsubscribe
I just realized that whether people liked enhancement during dragonflight depends on how much you like primordial wave and elementalist vs storm. Storm has always felt scuffed due to doom winds having no feedback at all. The only wow moment was getting a Dre proc but so many times you can't even use it due to raid mechanics or getting cc'd in pvp It sucks!
"we're pleased with the spec tree" means I'm still not gonna touch enha shaman because 1. Its just too much for me as button hell 2. As a melee spec where is the melee? Almost all of the abilites are ranged
Yep. After playing Enhancement since vanilla, I gave up on it at the beginning of Shadowlands. I highly recommend trying Survival hunter. Less buttons with a simple rotation and very fun to play.
@@wvjeepguy8178 I recently gave up on survival but then they announced all the changes and I was like damn🤣 I instead started leveling havoc which is very fun and good
because they wanna get ride forever of pvp focused specs, this xpac Is the ultimate pvp killer and they wanna start to "rework" all specs to perma mythic+ focused.
I feel like with all these changes, they only have one game mode in their (clueless) minds; PVE. Removing Windspeekers Resurgence is great ... for PVE. But of course, Blizzard don't play nor care about PVP so now ele has to try and hard cast even more while getting trained down by 2 melee like a shadow priest but yet has only a fraction of the same defensive utility as shadow priest. How intelligent.
@@JosiahFreeman-fd5ky Maybe. But you’re missing the point with windspeakers; it’s guaranteed damage. Lava burst may proc “slightly” more often but when you are face to face with a warrior who is wailing on you and generating maelstrom from lighting shield, being able to back to back earth shock lava burst consistently not only feels awesome as a caster but is potentially the difference between winning and losing that fight.
We have some of the best peels in our arsenal and are getting some buffs to Healing Stream and this new bulwark totem that will help our survivability. Getting melee off of you isn’t too challenging. With that said, I was also sad to see this taken away. Ive got some longtime Ele friends who are glads, and they reminded me that this talent never existed until SL/DF. Spreading flameshock isn’t that hard tbh, and our fire ele will be out even longer for longer flameshocks. With the buffs to our damage through fire ele, mastery, etc., it may be fine. I personally love the meatball build lol. But it may mean adjusting in TWW. I love Ele Shaman how it is right now, so trust me when I say I don’t love all these changes. But people have been asking for changes, and here they are, good or bad. Plus they aren’t finished and will likely tune into the expansion.
The one responsible for the shaman's design in modern wow is sick person, hired by the company not for professional suitability, but for some non-gaming reason. Enhancement shaman has no advantages or features over Elemental shaman other than the fact that it relies on melee to attack. Sundering, which is useless everywhere except Mythic+, does not improve in any way. Basic usable Ascendance does not improve in any way, and doom winds for Range interaction with Asc. A huge number of flaws and stupidity are allowed in the specialization and they are Happy with it. I conclude that the stupid PVE-jerk is responsible for the design of Shaman. ...Why Spirit wolves does not increase overall damage, similar to how augmentations work in other specializations? From the fact that Enh can pump damage with elements and physics separately, it does not give any variety, because it does essentially the same thing.
shaman needed a prune, more defensives and a smoother rotation. none of these issues were resolved. Resto shaman is the only spec that is at all playable while Ele and Enh are just as bad as before.
