@@lysergdiethel7528 Where he asked them if they want ride, or where he just casually waved to Yoh like they were already best friends. Or when he just says his good old "Chicchee Na!" when Ren attacks... its just so cuuuuuuuteee
Hao is the most impressive villain in my childhood. He isn't some edgy villain with filmsy resolve who can be easily persuaded by some (brainwashing) moral preach from protagonists, or some mindless villain whose actions are completely predictable. Despite his cheerful and calm demeanor, from time to time, he keeps reminding readers that he is truly evil and cruel, making our hearts skip a beat whenever he shows up unexpectedly. From the beginning to the end, it is clear that Hao is the ultimate boss that Yoh and his gangs can't hope to defeat even with their cooperation, will and even their efforts to gain powerful spirits. The overwhelming powerful Spirit of Fire is one thing, but Hao is also careful, manipulative and cunning, spending hundreds of years to accumulate knowledge, recruit underlings, and acquire spirits to prepare for the Shaman King tournament.
To be fair, it's not that common for villains to change their ways... Naruto is infamous for it, but that was mainly with only a few of his villains, and those villains happened to personally relate to Naruto and failed where Naruto succeeded and proving that there was a better way.... Zabuza, Gaara, Pein and Obito.... that was it.... only 4 villains.... The rest of the people he used talk no jutsu on were technically already Naruto's allies and they just needed to be convinced to trust Naruto...
To be fair, at this pint in the OG anime, it was also the real Hao.... and it was back before the series was finished and we actually had enough info about Hao.... hell... even the author himself probably didn't know at this point in time. And that said... I kinda liked the OG anime better... it felt less convoluted and more straight forward... Hao still wanted to provoke Yoh into getting stronger, X-Laws still learn the error of their ways and Hao still has a good reason to provoke Yoh.... Only real difference is the events and the fact that Hao actually wins..
Hao isn’t shy about bringing up the fact that he wants Yoh to obtain his goal and is more than happy to be attentive to him like waving at him when their eyes meet and getting rid of people who would stand in Yoh’s path talk about protective.
@William Andrés Sepulveda Arias I'm pretty sure he did all that not for love but because Yoh is his other half, hao was split in this age because they were having twins and Yoh is only part of him and what he wants is for it to become stronger and once he does that he can regain it back
@@Tony-lw5yp Hao starts off viewing Yoh like that but he also starts growing to love Yoh as a person and as a brother his instincts as a sibling are mixed up with his instincts as an ancestor and had to learn how to approach it because he was never reincarnated as a sibling so it was new to him however he eventually learned to love Yoh and it contradicted his intentions for him
Hao adores his little brother. While it is also true that Hao initially saw Yoh more as a valuable resource to him, those feelings were mixed with the curiosity Hao felt for Yoh, he was even excited to meet him in person and even went out of his way to give him a good first impression as well as showing that he really wanted to get to know him better, interact with him, spend time with him as brothers. Yes, Hao eventually grew fond of Yoh, caring about him, so much so that, as you say, he never hid his interest in Yoh and what he was doing (even Yoh's friends noticed it), even jumping to help him if necessary and even saving him (as it happened with the golem). Hao came to love his brother, just as Yoh loved him. This sibling relationship is a very beautiful one and something that many of us wanted to see animated, and it finally happened. 😌❤❤❤
Am i the only one who has a crush oh Hao? He is calm and pretty cute. He is confident to say that he wants Yoh to be stronger. He is confident, calm and sometimes nice. He also smiles a lot and its pretty cute. He is the best villain ever.
@@wesleypoep4328 Yea they get strong as well there’s a statement made by Ren that says each elemental spirit has the power of the Big Bang but that’s a single statement so
Pretty powerful? He's already OP at this stage, at the end of the series he's way more powerful than the previous Shaman King. And then came the Flower sequel.
kinda nice that they give Spirit Of Fire his final form right away cause if i remember correctly Spirit Of Fire appearance change about 3 time throughout the manga. I can’t wait to see what the other Spirits gonna look like cause again in the manga final fight, Spirit Of Fire look like he bought a 15 dollar skin and rest of the gang is just default skin they just simply doesn’t add up to each other
1:49 someone has to isolate this exact instant moment out of its context to make this an international meme with a deformed voice and suddenly high volume because why not, my sense of humor is damaged
Lyserg I know that he was the one who killed your parents, but thanks for uploading this video where Hao does all these amazing things. best regards from a big fan of shaman king. C.D.
Hey man, I’m also a big fan of shaman king! Thx for being here, also I dislike Hao for what he did but I accept his character and his story. I love anything about shaman king so it brings me joy just posting, watching, and reading the series! :) L.D
While I have a soft spot for the 2001 soundtrack, Hao new BGM theme for the remake is still pretty good and gives final boss vibes. Loving the subtle use of japanese instruments in it.
Rather, it is Madara-Hao in the Naruto universe, since Hao appeared before even the statue of Madara in the Valley of the End, which is the first indirect mention of the Uchiha. Spoiler: And if there is a lot of controversy about the fact that Madara is the top 1 in his universe, and many believe that the top 1 is Kaguya, then Hao is the unconditional top 1 in the Shaman King universe.
Yeah, it's a cool foreshadowing that while they are all wondering who he is The only reaction from Yoh was "So this is Hao?" and Nobody caught it on the team.
This version of Hao is so much better, he is not just pure evil, but a more complex character. He was a good villain in 2001 but in this one he is even better.
Yeah, well in the anime (2001) and in the manga and English version he is still his twin brother. Even the back story is covered by Mikihisa after they all see the Ultra senju ryyketsu. Yeah they do sound the same in Japanese but in the English he sounded the same to yoh being the same English voice actor.
@@lysergdiethel7528 I was always wondering why didn't they bring back the original voice for yoh japanese in 2001 because everyone in japanese version are back in 2021 but not yoh
Hao was holding back so much when the SOF smacked Horo-Horo, cause he could kill them all in the blink of an eye. Guess this was his way to say 'Hi, I want to troll you a bit'.
I used to mispronounce their names all the time when the original was still running. Drove my friends up the wall cause i always say the protagonist was asakura hoh and the enemy was yao
@@saint_242 Chocolove isn’t going to be I. The next episode… That’s after Lyserg’s battle with yoh and…… Spoilers Lyserg joins the x-laws, Dracula is killed, and they are in the second round of the tournament.
To be honest anyone who dont mind old quality graphic should just watch the old one Not hating , its just didnt expect the new one to cut alot of stuff and the old one is soo much better
Well the reason their kind of speed running all the events that already happened in the old version because they want to get to the new material the old version didn’t cover. I haven’t watched the old version yet since I wasn’t even born when it was still running but I can see why some would prefer that one over the new one so far since this new version is rushing events that were already made in the old one.
Hao was like: Hi guys, this is wargreymon my personal spirit, and this is my gang of evil guys with strange looks... and look at my harem of goth girls!
Flynn Crump and Lilith Shiningone and Cleo Upnova and Sekhmet and Alan and Michael McQueen eating french fries and soda and hambuthers and nuflggets at Mephistopheles'
Ok my one nitpick was that he overused his catchphrase in this episode. But overall i loved his introduction. The pacing was a 5/10. I wish they could take thing slower. I want to have time to breathe and chill with these characters without us jumping from scene to scene so quickly. Oh btw the last 2 minutes were what i live for 🤩
Both Hao and Yoh are the reincarnations of the founder of the Asakura Family, and thus explains their uncanny resemblance (albeit Yoh has shoulder length hair and Hao has longer hair past his waist).
