Edit: That wasnt Len who killed the musician, that was Len's grandfather who looked exactly like Len in his youth, it states in the manga that scene took place during WWII Also the reason Sati had no development is because she's actually the protag of another Hiroyuki manga called Butsu Zone that ended up tieing into SK
Butsu Zone isn't Canon in Shaman King as far as I know. Takei just reuses a lot of older designs he did. He also reuses the Ultimo character designs currently but it seems like they aren't the same characters like in the Ultimo Manga. The original Anna one shot also isn't canon.
@@leoschautvideos your probably right a lot of these sort of crossovers are left very vague, I like to think this was Takei's way of retconning Butzu Zone into SK as in this story you see Sati come to understand her connection with the bodhisattva is really just a form of Shamanism and the distinctions arent far off enough that they couldnt be merged to the extent that they have, tho I do agree the og Anna manga and Ultimo are too far off to be canon
To be fair, while Butsu Zone isn't completely canon, I'd say Sati probably came from similar place anyway. Basically I believe the core of her story is probably the same. I think there was also some mentioning of Anna the first and she look just like when she appeared in Butsu Zone. in Flowers...I think. ....too many spin offs Ultimo on the other hand is probably not. He also using Death Zero in Flowers.
Great video, I like this dive into the world of SK you've been doing at the height of it's new anime! Tho i want to want to make a correction, Usui is Horohoro's family name, his tribe is called the Ainu tribe, which is an actual tribe and are the indigenous people of Hokkaido
Remember that when Yoh talked with his brother Hao inside the Great Spirit, Yoh said he didn't like humans that much either. Zero explores Yoh's youth feeling alienated of seeing ghost and seeing flaws of humanity giving him more depth.
Yeah anyone open to comment to this please explain, but how does that work exactly? Is he yohs brother, his ancestor, or like is yoh the more accepting part of Hao that got split off????
@@KuroReisho in a way he's all three. Hao is Yoh's ancestor who reincarnated until he returned to his original bloodline where he was born as Yoh's twin.
Takei went with Wat because to lean more into the Sherlock references that Lyserg and his spirit's names were referencing, with both of them being references to drugs that Sherlock takes in the books, Lyserg Diethyl (LSD) and Morphine.
Hey there’s this under rated no criminally underrated cool manga and anime called air gear I know it sounds dumb but it’s about rollerblading but it’s really cool check it out if you like
Yoh's and Hao's stories are the best ones, it explores their feelings and shows that they are two peas in a the same pod. I like how Yoh does hate people and is missarable but finds his meaning in the abilities.
Hao has the spirit of fire eat the souls of the people he murders, that is what happened to Lyserg's friends and family. Hao if I recall correctly didn't get the SOF then, I think this is a translation thing, Hao only got the SOF during his life as a Patch as he had specific access to it. Sati seems like a filler character in Shaman King because she has her own Shorts, her appearance is meant to be a Cameo.
I love your Shaman King series! Shaman King is my favorite story! You are doing an amazing job here and you are beautiful whild doing so! 💜 (pls don't call flowers and super star spin-offs, they are just sequels)
Spirit of Fire wasn't born from Daitaro in sk 0. Hao stole s.o.f from the patch tribe in his 2nd life. What Daitaro became I suppose is a curse or something like that... they don't explain that part well
Hey dude you should cover the series Monster Allergy, super fun looking back on it and it has an art style you'd love. I'm sure there's also plenty of comic books which accompany it and weird crap like that, worth looking into? Released around 2009 which suits your era of content
theres a sequel comic called monster allergy evolution where zick and elena are young adults in college btw. its a little bit annoying bc the premise is after the main story ended, elena moved away and zick stopped aging so.... he just stopped talking to her.... ugh lol. they reconnect in the first comic. so thats the DRAMA. its cute once they get back into it, they kiss :3c
I didn't expect someone to talk about Monster Allergy under a Shaman King video, I loved that show! It's also an italian production by Rainbow srl and Iginio Straffi, it would be nice since he already covered Winx, Huntik and Witch that comes from the same place.
Gives been yos love for music an orign. Becauae music is magic and can change lives. Hana(literally flowers) and superstar as follow up is pretty good. Its about yos son comining on its own of course in a tournament.
Sati's backstory is actually a tie-in to Takei's previous series, Butsu Zone. The series isn't officially in the same canon as Shaman King, but Sati's story in Zero teases that it is since Senju, Jizo, Bato and Asura are all characters in Butsu Zone. Also in Butsu Zone, we see Takei experiment with the concept of Shamanism with a character named Anna who's the prototype to Anna in Shaman King. Also Butsu Zone features a oneshot story, Death Zero, which features Sakurai from SK Flowers and the story is reworked in SK The Super Star.
I grew up watching the 4kids ver of SK and in the episode when Lyserg was introduced all the guys low-key had a crush on him thinking he was a cute girl. If I remember correctly Kororo was really mad at Horohoro for making eyes at Lyserg. The fact that Horohoro and Damuko where kind a thing ties into that.
I'm going to be weird but you look beautiful. Anyway, Shaman King is my favourite series, watched it as kid and now watching it as an adult, my favourite character as kid was Umemiya Ryunosuke because he was funny but now I realist that he is creepy af but I still laugh at his meltdowns but it creepy were he start to flirt. Right now, I like most of the characters, so I don't have a favourite character
i never knew yoh got bullied. it's like how goku got bullied in dragonball evolution and he couldn't fight back because he was stronger...except yoh's story is done way better. lol trey's story is dark too. he always seemed laid back and always happy. i would have never thought he tried to "do that". it just shows that you never know what somebody's going through.
I would recommend checking out Butsu Zone, Takei earlier work, to have a more clear understanding of Sati character, But I think the Super Star vol 5 will cover all of the Sati/Butsu zone stuff.
Edit: It's been said that Spirit of Fire has always been a Patch property- Hao just reincarnated 500 years prior- always the most mysterious of the three major tournament timelines, at the 1000 years ago period expanded Hao's extensively in side stories- Hao incarnated as a member of the tribe, stole it and took it with him when he had to reincarnate again 500 years afterward- this time with a major advantage. It's also interesting that aside from Matamune and his first spirit, none of Hao's officially belong to him, he's taken them by force- never developing a personal connection with any of them- seeing them as attack dogs at best.
Hey you should do a what happened to Tenkai Knights video! It’s a Korean show that got both of its two seasons dubbed and just vanished the moment it ended. So if you watched it pls do a video on it! 🙂
Love your videos about shaman king. Horo horos backstory was my favorite. I know there are a lot of spin offs but that makes everything more interesting. Yesterday i finished reading red crimson. Good story🥰
I read Shaman King a long time ago and honestly forgot how good it was. Thank you for the good review and insight. I also started with the 4kids dub since Japanese Dub/Eng Subs were something that wasn't accessible to me when I was young so the reviews you make are extra enjoyable for me :D
Great content ! Now i have to re-read Zero i tought Hao got Spirit of Fire by reincarnating himself as a patch tribe member 500 years ago. I might have missunderstood that part in Zero. Also, can't wait to see your opinion on the other spin-off it's always cool to hear someone liking shaman king (and reading it haha)
It does mix up with flowers. Including ^ / 👁️\ /______\ I simply wish kodansha had a service like Jump has. The izneo isn't the greatest service. And I'd rather pay 5 bucks to read everything monthly than every update
This Shaman King Zero is just proof that well, Shaman King Flowers can't contain the massive fans of the original Shaman King manga and anime. Yup, Hana seems like a cool character, but the plot of the sequel isn't that convincing compared to the original.
Dude... rly not against your...whatever... but i try... i try but... i cant watch your videos... i like the way you present stuff and the way you talk is nice... but... i cant watch this eyes ... sorry dude.. i rly try but my limit is reach
the hal one doesn’t make sense because if you remember in the original it was said that hao stole the spirit of fire from the patch and that spirit of fire was once apart of the great spirit so really doesn’t make sense. correct me if i’m wrong
I was skeptical on how you will cover shaman king anime because it was a big deal where I came from And now I sit here after watching all 3 video in one go Well done!
Dressing kids with female clothes and garments was the norm back then, the boys were allowed to dress and be considered men only after a ritual when they were somewhere between 12/13
Shaman King Flowers is about the child of Yoh and Anna and he has some part of Hao's remaining Spirit-whatever, but it was discontinued. The site that I read it from is gone now, but that manga might still be discontinued.
@@anitanielsen1061 I don't actually, I used to read it on mangarock but the app was closed, hasn't read since then. But I'm sure if you put "shaman king flowers online" all father google should show you the way
In the original Manga they say Hao reincarnated as a Patch to steal the Great Spirit of Fire, and Zero takes place before said reincarnation so...? I prefer the original since it makes more sense
Hey man. Shaman King reboot just ended today and I came across this vid. Thankfully, some of these arcs in this prequel manga got adapted into the reboot (too bad major parts got cut due to constraints).
Why is it that prequels in Japanese series always have a zero in them? We got metroid zero mission, fate zero, shaman king zero etc. I thought we all agreed that you don't start from zero when counting
It makes sense, if a story is season 1 then it makes sense for the prequel to literally be the characters zero point, the point before their need for character development
