Since filming this, my good friend reached out to recommend a book that has really helped me with "sticky" thoughts (ie obsessive thoughts): Pure O OCD (a.co/d/03tGPuz). I shared both the OCD and the GAD (General Anxiety Disorder) titles in the description bc as Dr Chad explains, to him they're on a continuum. If you relate to this video, you may want to check out either title. I found even skipping ahead to the "solution" was so helpful and thankfully much of my work with @CoachCarolCatholic has aligned with his treatment plan: capturing thoughts, labeling, creating distance from thoughts, self-care.
I acknowledge the work you are doing to get free of sticky thoughts and to learn to take your thoughts captive... because feelings always come from thoughts. You're doing great! It's not about perfection at all (this side of heaven). TY for being vulnerable and sharing. Coach Carol
Thank you so much for sharing this *stuff* with us, I struggle with the same things you do plus heavy grief….i have no ideas to share just wanted to let you know you are a beacon of light ❤
Those are really hard. I've had those before. Now I can see how the thoughts can either lead to them (fear cycling over and over) or help resolve them (you're safe, this is just an intrusive thought, you are safe).
