This review was originally posted in April 2013, and this is a re-edited version that runs 6m 10s shorter than the original version. This was one of several collaborations I've had with Mike Jeavons (who also runs a film channel called Film Thought). I've also appeared in his film Nerdquest and the short Internet Dating with Me, and this episode was a spin-off of his show Shameful Sequels, where he played a character version of himself (and also used a head-on-a-stick puppet to parody me, which is referenced here). Nerdquest: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Hwci7Xa8cng.html Internet Dating and Me: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_3qcZl2jDG0.html This episode was partially re-constructed. I found the original Vegas project file, but had long ago deleted the on-camera and voiceover recordings. Thus I have edited in and upscaled the original render into the project to substitute those missing files, but gives me more flexibility in re-editing film footage and photos and text render out natively, as opposed to having scaling artefacts. Changes are as follows: - Now in 720p! - *NEW* voiceover for my off-camera lines. This was one of the episodes from my angry period, and I have redubbed it to make it less draining and excessive. I used a different microphone than the ones I normally use, so let me know what you think. - Film footage has been re-encoded and upscaled for better quality, or as much as I can from a DVD. This did end up throwing my edits out of sync, so I had to manually fix those. - Episode audio has been cleaned up and enhanced as best as I can. Because I didn't have Mike's original lines, the intro/outro still have some background music, and occasionally you'll hear computer noise I couldn't clean away. - Film clips have been reduced, either through cuts or slow-motion. Some substitutions and additional shots have been added too. These reflect the majority of changes, 4 minutes just went from clips alone. - Flash frames have been reduced in intensity to make it safer for viewers. The opening disclaimer has been altered to reflect this. - An insensitive line has been cut. - Music has been replaced. This review has been restored to coincide with my review of My Spy, which is next up, and from the same director. Enjoy!

I feel like they never made Buddy a scientifically created man-dog hybrid because the filmmakers didn't want to face the wrath of Jeff Noon's lawyers
@graemesmith6721
@graemesmith6721 2 года назад
"Because that's exactly how science works!" Oh, we left science behind a long, long time ago. You might as well ask where all that extra mass came from when the hamster grew giant-sized. Or where most of Buddy Love's mass went when he turned into a toddler. And wouldn't farting in a space suit just make it swell up like a balloon? Space suits are airtight, after all. That's kind of the whole point.
@nathanforester5993
@nathanforester5993 2 года назад
I take it that a lot of producers and writers really do love the idea of making animals giant, or making giant anything in general considering the third Honey I Shrunk the Kids did that with the baby and also obviously the hamster was a Goosebumps homage. I mean one of the Monster Blood books does have a hamster grow to giant size (i.e Cuddles) and that hamster is one of the Goosebumps mascot characters that is featured in merchandise. Also you're right about Buddy not being a gene in the original, he's an alternate personality/alter-ego.

It was somewhere around the point that the grandma was trying to have sex with Buddy Love that I walked out. Mom was so upset but I just couldn't sit there any more of that crap. I once made a pitch idea for a "Nutty Professor III: Spread the Love". Where it shows the same glowing blue fountain from the end of The Nutty Professor II being barfed on by a toddler, crapped on by a flying bird, sneezed on by a guy with flowers, and whizzed on by a hobo. Then everyone's germs caused a countless army of different types of Buddy Loves to rise out of the fountain and wreak havoc on the entire city. Sherman hears about this and creates a glowing green anti-germ medicine that is both a miraculous healing tonic and evaporates Buddy if it touches him. He uses it to save the world that Buddy has taken over to the point where he even became president. The nightmare sequence: Sherman is dressed as Neo and the Buddy Loves are Agent Smith clones, it parodies the crowd fight scene from The Matrix Reloaded.
@schwarzerritter5724
@schwarzerritter5724 4 года назад
Considering there is a youth formula in this movie, I thought the movie was setting up a mystery that Buddy Love has been seen in the city again and Sherman thought he had a relapse. But then the twist is Sherman's father has secretly taken the youth serum and turned into his on version of Buddy love. It would be a decent mystery and it would take advantage of all the Klumps being played by the same actor.

The best part in NP2 is when Sherman has flashbacks. It happens twice. He has one when he's teaching his genetics class and it's a flashback of Jason saying what he did to try to get rid of buddy could affect his intelligence. Then he has another flashback at the end after Buddy evaporates and he sits by the fountain. That one showed more earlier moments in the movie. The flashback moments were also scary to say the least.

The sequel to a remake of a film that never did a sequel because it would have defeated the message of the story. It also decided to double down on scatological and sexual humor to the obnoxious extreme, which sullied both the remake and the original film, the latter of which had none of these, and was better for it. Eh. BMB's done worse. While the reviews of Fat Slags and Good Luck Chuck were funny, watching clips of those films felt agonizing, especially the latter. The Klumps is just your standard, run of the mill bad.

Yeah. But to me the most unbearable THING BMB has ever covered (At least as far as the episodes on RU-vid go) is Breaking Wind. I say so cause I've only gotten through the entirety of that video ONCE!

I thought something about this movie was off back when I saw it in theaters. Knowing that it was done by the American Pie guys made everything make a LOT more sense. It's way too raunchy compared to the original and a lot less witty.

Hey man. Great review. I really love your content that you put out. I know this was back in 2013, but you and Mike Jeavons did a great job doing this collaboration review on this. As for my thoughts on Nutty Professor II: The Klumps, I also hated this movie. The Nutty Professor (1996) was one of my favorite movies growing up and watching the sequel was such an embarrassing mess. I really love Eddie Murphy, but this is one of his very worst movies. Great job and keep up the good work. :)
