Always had a feeling frank would die in the end of the series. Still wasn't prepared for it. The way he takes one last look at the house before he goes just gets me.

I think Liam saw this coming. He went from 100% not giving a shit to planning whole days with Frank. Prediction: Liam said he will probably end up deciding what to do with Frank. I'll bet Liam finds him first.

Dad died yesterday. He got dementia. He was like kinda Frank, treated us like shit. I would never think I'd be sad. I can't stop listening to this song. Now, this scene and the song stick with me forever.

Frank didn't want to keep going without his mind. That was the what made him able to survive as long as he did. Didn't mind being a burden on the State, but wasn't comfortable being a burden on his family he barely raised if he could barely remember his name, much less pull a scam anymore.

I love how at the end, when all of the patrons clear out of the Alibi to watch the car on fire --- but Liam takes a minute to stand alone, looking at his father's empty Barstool... and you could just tell by looking at his face, Liam KNEW. He knew Frank was gone.

As someone who lost their mother to a heroine overdose, this scene really hit me… they did an incredible job with this show.

Too bad this wasn't his actual death scene. It was filmed so freaking good and they fucked it up in the final episode. This would've been the perfect death scene.

it’s crazy how just a 3 minute scene can make you feel. everything about it was done perfectly it’s just that room and frank. no one else is there it’s very personal. you almost feel like you’re in the room with him but you’re not, it leaves you thinking how he really wasn’t a bad guy, for us shameless fans it brought out the love we all had for Frank and his character, seeing him glance at the house one last time, the struggle to put the letter up, no words said just the music playing. it was so raw and real.

The scene where he gets out of the hospital after his liver transplant and goes to speak to god is still to this day one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. He was on borrowed time, he always was. RIP Frank Gallagher ❤️.

Such a powerful scene of cinematography. The right camera angles mixed with some good music can make one hell of a scene. Reminds me of the overdose scene from Trainspotting with Lou Reed playing. As an addict in recovery this really hit home. Funny thing is i actually just relapsed a few days before watching this episode. Life is filled with irony

My father passed away three months ago and in a lot of ways he was like Frank Gallagher but I’m really glad that we both tried to make amends during his last days. This scene really tore me down but oh well, we all saw it coming.

Say what you want about Frank, but ya gotta hand it to him, he always had a hustle and tbh, even tho he bought into his own bs way to much, he always stayed true to his philosophic pov on life. And his ingenuity commands respect. Also, ya gotta admire a man who defies social norms and stays true to himself. He wasn't no snitch, and he could give as much as he got in the " no- take shit" department. I grew up around lots of ppl like Frank. Ppl who survive what would kill most, survivors. Sad to see him go but glad to see him check out on his own terms. Sure, he was basically a scrum bag, but he was a scumbag with a code and a plan. Maybe his death will bring Fiona back and this will remind the rest of the Gallagher how much they really need each other and that they're stronger together. RIP Frank, shine on you crazy diamond.

I always thought it was fitting that Shameless would end with the death of Frank. But I always envisioned it as so; Frank cleans up his act, gets sober, becomes a decent father, develops empathy, *finally earns the respect of his children* and then... Just as a situation arises it when the Gallaghers desperately need him, he tops himself or dies by other means. One last fitting "fuck you" to his family. One last time screwing them over royally. Breaking in their hearts and devastating them with grief. That would be poetic justice.

it’s just so wild because Frank is a character you love and hate. You hate him for obvious reasons, like constantly abandoning his kids, piling all the responsibilities on Fiona etc. But you love him for always being real and true to himself. I may hate him a little more though because being a bad Father is irredeemable in my book, but even I feel remorse for him, seeing him go out this way.

wow. after all the man's been through; people after him constantly, alcohol and drug addiction, gunshots, stabbings, kidney failure, fake surgeries, and years of living off of barely anything, he dies to an overdose by his own doing.

This was the hardest saddest fictional scene I ever watched of one of the greatest and hardest shows I ever watched. This show hits different when you grew up in this kinda environment. The instant between shots when he stares around for a second. I seen that exact look in my dads eyes countless times. It's that stare in that moment that should of won that actor countless awards. He did a masterful job playing frank. But that look in his eyes in that moment rocked me to my core. It made it all too real. How could that actor imitate such a look of despair and acceptance at the same time without being there for real. What a fucking scene. This one scene drummed up as much emotion as years of therapy. This show was very depressing and therapeutic at the same time. The writing the acting. It was all a fucking masterpiece. To anyone who lived this it was a fucking master piece. As much as I loved the show there were times when I had to stop watching for several weeks at a time because it got too real for me and then I'd pick it back up later. I grew up idolizing my dad who was a drug addict and schizophrenic. It wasn't until I was grown I realized how unhealthy it was and it wasn't until this show that I realized how much it had really affected me

Frank is the saddest character of this show. An alcoholic and drug addict who is narcissistic and doesn't really care about his kids. He gets dementia because of his drinking and dies on the last episode of the show.

I’m sorry but we were ROBBED of the finale. This scene would’ve been the most impactful, and emotional thing ever if this is ACTUALLY what killed Frank. He goes through the whole series cheating death in every angle, nothing could get him. To have him die of COVID is such a horrible writing choice. It would’ve been symbolic as heck that the thing that finally ended Frank was himself, because he got to decide when his time was up. I also am just really annoyed that the kids never knew he died. Yes he was very bad of a person, but he was still their father. This pandemic just ruined the ending of this show and it REALLY makes me upset. This whole scene is almost a joke because of the way the series actually ended.

This should of been how he died instead of by covid, the finale episode should of been the family remembering him give him a funeral and then move on with their lives and the final scene should of still been his speech that he gave in the last episode

The series was a roller coaster, I always expected his death, never ready for it tho. Had me balling and I don’t cry over tv shows very often.

Frank got up from this suicide attempt. The death came in the next episode. He died in the hospital. His entire life was lived in his own mind. Alcoholic dementia took his life (mind) and will to live away. Malignant narcissisti.

Just finished watching the next episode, and boy I hope everyone is ready for the feels!

I just finished the series.. I hated Frank from the beginning, even sometimes wishing he would die and let the kids live their life.. I dobt know when it happened but he won my heart over. Tha last 3 series he was really changing as a character. But when they diagnosed him with alcoholic dementia thats when it started for me:) acting at its best! He really sold me that he is in state of dementia.. that shocked me.. this was tthe realest TV show I have ever seen. It was so deep, so funny, so dramatic and sometimes sad.. the best show for me. I am going to fukin miss it. Cheers to Frank, the most hated and loved character of Shameless.. I love this show.
