I know for a fact that he was in Astoria appearing in a small scene in an indy movie that a buddy of mine was making then. My friend said that when Shane was "off the drink", he was friggin' brilliant and had a vast knowledge of music. The next day, he was "on the drink" again, and spit on my friend, not remembering who he was, as he told him to "fuck off". True story.
