Seriously my favorite episode by far. Shaun was able to put a lot of things that people who have used hallucinogens have experienced into a vernacular that was not only easy to understand, but made me feel like I better understood how my own brain was affected. Extremely captivating stuff; thank you both!
@@mistaleesreversespeech7728 No, hallucinogens mess people's minds up and make them think that they know all of the answers when, in reality, trips aren't meant to be abused they're meant to be enjoyed and teach you something about yourself. Tripping dick on 10+ tabs of 105 micrograms several times per month doesn't open up dimensional gateways, it makes you lose grip on reality because you're running from reality. Being sober with meditation, diet, exercise, and pursuing an education > pursuing yet another psychedelic journey which can have adverse effects on the mind when abused. Make no mistake, no matter how many times you trip you won't unlock any dimensional gateway to escape life - tripping is about learning to accept life, loving yourself, loving others, and knowing that there is a purpose in existence. As for all the 'beings' and vague explanations of them... metaphors in my opinion which are expressed through the subliminal mind to enact changes that are subverted by the drug user. (my opinion)
Joshua Mawyer you’re on hundred percent right... this guy went crazy after taking to much psychedelics and then he proceeds to tell people “oh it was greattt.” So stupid and irresponsible to let kids think they should do so as well
@@janbittman78 I like to imagine it's more along the lines of my ego dropping away enough for me to tune into the flow of the universe instead of my mind controlling the flow. That way I dont inflate my ego even more lol
Yes, we'll said and let the light shine through you on every level to minimize the trauma of this chaotic situation we have caused for our self, may it become a happy dream.
I love listening to Shane discuss his manic episode, as I had one at about the same time. Tons of bad stuff happened, but I sometimes still look back fondly on the period when everything made sense and I was the savior of all mankind.
One of my favorite episodes! Super interesting. Theo, you're a good dude. We care a lot for ya. Your podcast makes me laugh the most and really just makes my rainy day a little fuckin bit better
best guest yet, i could relate so much to this guy and the way he describes being on mushrooms and lsd is exactly how it feels and i could see that he retained alot of the sort of ideas and viewpoints that you obtain while on mushrooms. very insightful.
I had an acid trip once, where I listened to my own music, and my lyrics in the song (which before I thought were meaningless vague metaphors) were directly speaking to me in that moment; it felt like I was delivering messages to myself from the past on how to handle the trip. So I know exactly what Shane is talking about at 43:25
same dawg i recorded my song Whisky Dick on zoomers. and yea i have a big catologue of 3-10 year old rap songs that mean more to me now than they ever did
I have done so much lsd in my life I literally feel like this everyday. Pretty sure it’s an after effect of diving into other dimensions of reality. You don’t know until you know and when you know you can never turn it off.
I'm in the STEM world and I've always pondered if using psychedelics can unlock some ideas that are untapped. If this guy can have these fully thought out concepts in his head, imagine what a mathematician or engineer can do with "information from the Gods"
@@howardhavardramberg333 I'm just saying man half the cells in your body that make you 'you' are foreign bacteria symbiotically living inside you producing the chemicals you use to think. The other half the cells in your body that have your DNA overturn regularly and chances are nearly all of your composition is different molecules than 15-20 years ago. Cells in your brain die constantly and new ones take the same places in their synaptic structures. Surely the right way to encapsulate what 'you' are isn't to look at your composition, or how many tiny replicates you can make that have ~45% of your DNA. Probably the only real way to quantify yourself is to observe every pattern that you've emanated, contributed to, or disrupted, and scale that 'til time stops.
If you meditate for long enough you can get to very psychedelic experiences. Breathing exercises like pranayama and holotropic breathing can make you trip as hard as any psychedelic or dissociative if you do it long enough. Kundalini yoga can also give you full on dmt strength breakthroughs when you get experienced.
Try staring at yourself in a mirror directly in between your eyes, but slightly up (think third eye territory.) Try not to blink for as long as you can. The longer you hold your gaze, the more trippy it gets. It's like a baby dmt trip.
KaseyDC94 but then you have to leave. These practices can help you stay there as long as you would like. Also when a proficient mediator or somebody who practices breathing exercises takes psychedelics they will usually have a far easier time not getting stuck in the head while on which can lead to hell and terror.
Yes, I agree. And these kind of grandiose experiences which Shane is describing can happen with psychedelics because you are not really for the experience. This means that when person who has his/her ego much intact or has a big ego, then the psychedelics could make their experience seem as if they are special and have powers etc. Meditation on the other hand is quite a gradual way to know ones own self and over time it decreases the ego to such as extinct that the person does not have any such delusional experiences. Meditation takes a lot of time and it's necessary for a person to do it so as work on first grownding one's self, reducing ones ego, and then to face ones fear and then find a direction in life.
lol i went to a shane mauss show a couple weeks ago.. it was a first date. he went on for like 10 minutes and it was funny. i thought i was at a normal comedy show until the next person he brought up, gave a ted talks about the atrocities of war.... nothing funny. the biggest vibe killer ever. then another comedian came up and did a fun 10 minutes, we thought it was looking up. then another ted talk person came out to talk about child abuse and trauma... that had done it. i could tell she was not impressed so we left and bar crawled the rest of the night. i thought it was a disaster at first but it actually worked to my advantage. suddenly everything i said that night was more interesting and funny to my date than what she saw at a comedy show lmao.
@@namedroplife it was his science show, i just didnt understand what that meant lol. i thought it would be like science themed jokes or the science of comedy or something. shane even said on stage " love the pacing of this show, laughs, war, more laughs, child trauma" lol
I completely disagree with DMT not being able to change or help someone in just one dose. I've personally only had it 3 times. And the first time is ground breaking and will humble you, and show you that youre a dust particle in this giant massive universe.
If you've never done psychedelics in high amounts before then DMT is life changing, but I can tell you from experience that if you take a breakthrough dose of LSD you'll trip just as hard for hours or even days and DMT just can't compare to that. Granted DMT is also way more fun and convenient so I'd actually recommend it before other psychedelics if youve never been bitch slapped by God before.
@@newusernamehere4772 ive tripped on shrooms and acid. DMT is much more powerful. It is way more intense. Just doesnt last long. Puts you in another dimension though! 🤯
@@tacktiician4978DMT is more intense in high doses than shrooms are in low doses, correct. A breakthrough on psychedelics is a breakthrough on psychedelics - I've broken through on a massive overdose of LSD (which I recommend only if you play an instrument lol) and stayed deeper than the deepest DMT breakthrough for 24 hours straight. Blasting off and coming down in 15 minutes is less intense than blasting off at the same velocity for 3 hours and taking 2 days to come down
Damn bro your Columbus show is sold out n has been for a minute! It's ok tho lost my father in law and a cousin of mine in December n working to help the family cover that. I've been going through a lot lately and dealing with depression, and your podcasts help me get up every day n put my steel toes on n get to work and I wanna say thank you for that.
Get a diary bro. Quit trying to scam people for sympathy tickets. Just quit smoking cigarettes for a week or carpool for one day or work 1 hour of overtime and save up the 20 bucks for a ticket. Hahahahahaha fucking nerd nice try scammer.
Theo’s podcast is really contending for the best podcast out now. Such diversity of guests and obviously Theo never ceases to amaze just being himself.
Shane Mauss is like a heavy dose of Timothy Leary, Terrence McKenna, Nick Sand, Hunter S Thompson, and Ram Dass all in one. Its wild. He has a maddening yet wildly calm nature in his experiences in the body of a millenial. He can present his world so calmly and thought out but his experiences come with such wild chaotic veracity.
This is my first time actually seeing Shane, I’ve listened to his podcast “here we are” with much joy for the past two years. This is a trip to see the man behind the voice and laugh. GG Shane n Theo
Ever since I was a child, I've had a recurring dream that when I was done with life, I walked through a door and everybody was clapping and saying "Hey, you get it now!?". Life seems like a cruel joke sometimes..
I used to have a recurring dream that the animals for the back of the Golden Books we're all trying to kill me in this huge City like Chicago and there were all thugs. I would always wake up right before they got to me.
I guess having a higher power is a comfort in life. it's not like we're just organisms clinging to a rock expelled from a slow-mo explosion hurtling through a vacuum. Though, I like the door idea. WHO built THAT door? ;)
From bang on 1:00:00 nearly got me good there Theo. The end of that ad and the proceeding 120 seconds just had me in absolute pieces! Gang, gang Onward.
I tripped on DMT this weekend, and I now know what schizophrenia is. It's the most amazing and terrible experience and I didn't even breakthrough all the way.
How lucky could we be to have someone like Shane lose his mind and come back To reality to explain what it’s like to literally lose your mind 😂 it’s the most fascinating thing I’ve ever been fortunate enough to listen to! Lmao truly amazing, no doubt.
How the hell do hella people think that painting is of trump? I instantly knew it was Farley , you should get David Spade soon man he'd be fuckin stoked seeing that painting. You'd probably hear some really great Farley stories bruh
38:53 a lot of these conclusions can be connected to how quantum physics has been theorized to work, a situation being unobserved is both happening and not happing simultaneously.
1:13:54 “this is me in my normal state” *transforms* “this is bipolar two” *transforms* “this is a bipolar beyond bipolar” *transforms* “AND THIS IS THE MANIA!” he’s basically bipolar Goku
Ohhh Yeah I absolutely struggle with psychosis now that I dove deep into DMT after years of mushrooms. I never heard anyone explain how I feel sometimes until Shane talks about his experience with reading way to into things and having everything mean something directly to you.
@@Theiwillsee more making fun of where he's from than how he looks. And honestly if he looked like he had symptoms, I probably wouldnt have said it, thats really fucked up and a lot less funny
I love the documentary, I haven’t finished it yet because I keep pausing to look up more content with Shane Mauss, this guy is cool, and of course Theo is cool😄🤚🏻🍄
