Re-watching this fight all these years later I'm realizing those body shots were lethal! That guy was Way tougher than he had to be in this fight. He probably suffered a lot of injuries We never knew about
@@OldSkoolBoxingg He was on the "clear" before his second De La Hoya fight and all it did was bulk him up and slow him down. He didn't take it before or after and he never tested positive for anything.
Should have stopped it after round one when it was clear Taylor could not respond to questions in the corner and didn't think he'd been knocked down. I don't agree with your assertion Fenech got anything right.
Interesting tactic from Taylor. Stand strait in front and have zero head movement. He wouldnt have beat Mosely regardless. This was a sparring session for Mosely.
To be fair, Mayweather DID call out Mosley after he beat Bruceles at 140 pounds, he was willing to go up to 147 lbs. Mosley instead faced Delahoya for the bag.
Sorry, bro, but critics and haters intentionally forgot and won't mention that to stained Mayweather's career. They're painting Mayweather as a cherry picker so anything's that says otherwise should be forgotten or ignore.
Damn - shane mosley was hitting this dude really hard had a lot of pop on those punches were was that left hook this version of mosley was at his best then again he exposed margarito and beat the piss out of him one of my favorite fighter's
George Foreman is sharing his knowledge. Larry Merchant tries to correct him on something and Big George shuts him down so hard the other announcer agrees and Merchant didn't say anything for at least a full minute. Nothing better than that.
I mean it probably would’ve happened anyways, Sugar winning the fight by KO, but it seemed like Taylor thought that 10 second warning at the end of round one was the bell. I rewinded it like 20 times to hear what he says in his corner but it’s tough with his Australian accent and him obviously being groggy. still it sounds to me like he says "I braked and then he fuckin hit me!" Maybe chalk it up to nerves but still that punch was clean as fuck and wasn’t like he had been caught yet. I mean his head snapped as if it was a hook or a punch he didn’t see coming but it was a straight right hand. I’m sure after your bell is rung once it’s quite easy to get it rung again not to long after if so that is a shame for the kid. You work your whole life for an opportunity and when it comes you give a guy a free shot.
Mosley was a rocket in his prime - jumping up from dominating the lightweight division to go straight to welterweight for the big fights of the day. It was a gutsy and smart move (business wise) Gutsy as the guys were so much bigger...but smart as he would have HAD to face Kostya Tszyu to being considered the king pin at 140 and for way less money. Mosley is a ATG I remember Zab Judah claiming that Mosley "jumped over" him to go straight to 147..lol -no, it was Kostya dear Zab...you should have "jumped over" Kostya too and just purchased dance lessons at your local studio instead.
Yea you've gotta question the morals of a guy that used EPO and Steroids to bludgeon his opponents harder and for longer periods than would otherwise be possible for him.
Okay... I got to clear up this bulshit notion that Mosley ducked Mayweather. First off this dude moved up 12 pounds to fight Oscar De La Hoya. Fought a prime undefeated Vernon Forrest who was a match up nightmare for Mosley. Fought Winky Wright TWICE who was a big 154 fighter and a very avoided fighter at the time. Knocked out Vargas twice who was much bigger and finally Margarito who was the most feared welterweight in the world at the time and oh yea Mosley was 37!!! Mayweather on the other hand was offered 8 mil by Bob Arum to fight Margarito but Floyd turned it down to fight Carlos Baldomir for half the money. Shane did say after the second Vargas fight when asked if he would fight Floyd in a couple of months that his tooth was loose after the fight and that he wanted to take his family on vacation... Hmmm maybe because he was married to that bitch Jin and they were having problems in their relationship. She divorced him shortly after that, took half his money and even tried to take his championship belts in the suit. The word "duck" isn't in Mosley vocabulary. Always fought the best and in his prime would have finished Mayweather in that second round when he rocked him.
Sugar Klay No. Shane pretty much always lost in his biggest fights. Vernon 2x, Wright 2x, Cotto, Pac, Floyd. The sole exception being Oscar which was a lifelong friendly rivalry. Vargas was shot by the time they fought. Margarito was a two bit cheat who got caught and Mosley was on fire because of his fresh divorce. Floyd aged same as everyone else and haters gonna hate. Still a big Mosley fan but he wasn’t among the zenith.
@@fhatheadproductions u say Vargas was shot by the time he fought Shane but criticize Mosley for losing vs canelo , pacman, Floyd, when he was around 40 years old. Vargas was not close to 40 when Shane beat his ass. Vernon Forrest is the only legit lost for Shane Mosley because he lost to Vernon Forrest in his prime and around his weight but winky was to Big
Where was the Mayweather fight when Shane was fighting like this? I'm serious I don't know the answer to that question. Could someone explain it to me?
The simple answer is because he didn't have too. Floyd is a business man first and foremost. All of his biggest "challenges" we're all calculated risks. He never went into a fight wondering if he would win
Your right he never wants to fight fighter's in there prime he waits till they slow down then he fights them he should send his uncle to the dentist get him some jibs for a dude who is rich and was trained by his uncle why he doesn't get him some jibs
The big strong fundamental welters had their way with Mosley. He took too many pictures and was too in love with his power which never really translated past lightweight. Also, where is his jab? Nowhere.
Dion Garman Not w Winky, Forrest, Oscar, Cotto, or Floyd. Not to mention Pac and Alvarez. He couldn’t continue his string of KO’s against the top guys like he did at lightweight.
@@fhatheadproductions You can't knock everyone out! All those guys you mentioned were elite, they come with defence and solid chins as a mandatory. GGG didn't KO Alvarez either, that doesn't mean he wasn't a puncher. Of course I agree he couldn't continue his string of KOs at 147 but he could still get them if he landed right. I mean he KO'd Margarito, his chin was crazy.
Dion Garman To my initial point, the big, strong welters could take whatever Mosley threw albeit some better than others (Floyd!).... Shane was a great puncher no doubt. Margarito was his last great fight. What a beatdown that was! Loved it.
That's pretty good for a nobody to last that many rounds with someone who's in boxing hall of fame who shouldn't be well that's America for you you need money
I still think Floyd Mayweather would have beaten this version of Shane Mosley if you watch his boxing skills they just don't compare even if he hits hard he can't control his speed and Floyd is very good and neutralizing your best attributes unless you are a one-punch knockout artist who knows how to place your punches that's the only way you'll beat Floyd only if you land your shot
E1EMENT2012 But Floyd was also OLD and past prime vs Mosley. What about the prime Floyd that beat on Gatti or Corrales or Hatton? Would he have put on a better show vs Mosley? I think so!
