I was a BCR fan and in 1975 it brought me together with my first girlfriend. We both had the sawn off jeans and tartan and it was great time to be alive. So destroyed that we have lost Les and Alan. Keep them rockin in paradise guys I'll probably be along soon to join ya! THE MUSIC LIKE YOU CANNOT DIE!!!!!
Been listening to The Bay City Rollers since 1975 and I was 19 going on 20 ! Really love the songs they sang ! They were awesome and love their songs !
I was there at the recording of this episode (and one other - they recorded 2, one after the other) at Granada Studios, Manchester. The hysteria was infectious. I wore a 'W' jumper like Woody's that my Mum had knitted and was thrilled that he wore his, too! Such happy young teenage memories!
My band and I met these guys in Manny's Music in NYC around 1975. They were a great group of guys to hang with for a day in a music store,,so much fun!!!!
Went to see them when I was 7yrs old at caird hall dundee, then saw them at rothes hall glenrothes with my mum they asked us back for a drink biggest ask of my then life
boy it brings back memories they were my number one band when I was 15 I went to see them when they were in Edmonton Alberta in Canada I was totally in love with Eric jijijiji shshsh
a trip down memory lane - Shang-a-lang was my favourite show at the time... and the Bay City Rollers' music has since progressed to my iPod. I even had my very own Rollers' outfit - complete with Bobby Dazzlers (long striped socks)... how cool was I :) Thanks so much for sharing ;-)
the 1st megs popular boyband ever no matter what they look like in the outfits its what was happening for them back in the day they done pretty well just a shame they got robbed as they wouldnt be back trying to do it all over again
Thank you for posting this. I never got to see Shang-A-Lang - I don't know if they showed it in Australia. Miming is what they did to produce efficient television; the guys are all great musicians and top performers.
Sad indeed but they did a huge service to Scotland getting our voice out to the world after over 300 years of being silenced and subjugated. Saor Alba Gu Brath
search bay city rollers midnight special or bay city rollers live in japan ... unfortunatley the 70s were full of audio playback tv shows ... i saw the rollers twice myself as a kid and i can assure you they played live ... why ... because eric faulkner would rip amazing guitar solos and riffs not found on record ... he is a master guitar player then and now ... also search ROLLERWORLD a live cd released in th early millenium
When I was 18 it simply wasn't cool to like the Rollers. In my circles they were considered a little kids band. Looking back I can see what snobs we were. This is dynamite pop song writing if nothing else and it's fast becoming a lost art
@@barbaraclark1687 Yes British. The British is the entire island. England and Scotland are the British Isles. England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales are British Isles.
where can u actually find audio of these guys actually playing ''live'' ? these guys and a few other pop bands back in the day are very near impossible to find real live footage. Im intrigued to know if they could actually play decent live.
Society has total changed and not for the better. Music today is awful. It was much better back then. Songs where much more cheerful. Today it's all about relationships breaking up.
