They take the guys to specific shops and if they buy something,then the one who suggested the shop gains something in return,they can never force a guy to go to a particular shop or to buy something,seems a win-win situation,the same thing happens in many other places too

pro tip - as someone who also lived in china, and currently works in retail with a Chinese boss. always bargin as low as you can until they flat out refuse your price. and then walk off. this will garuntee they will chase you and give you the price you want. or if they don't chase you the first time, walk off, then go back to the same store like 10mins later, act very interested still, again ask for the lowest price, and walk off again, they WILL give it to you garunteed no later then the second try.

that's how asians sell their stuff. through negotiations. You never pay what they tell you to pay. You negotiate, you can do that in stores in the US. like instead of paying 500 dollars for a mattress, say you'll pay like 450 in cash. because credit cards cost some fee so if the fee is like 70 dollars, then they make only like 430. so 450 cash is cheaper for you and they make 20 extra dollars than credits. You can always negotiate with cash than credit if you're dealing with high prices in near thousands of dollars.

This happens in a lot of different countries and markets like that, if you take a westerner to a shop and they buy something they get a cut of it. It happens a lot in China and Morocco. If you're the Westerner you should always say no when someone takes you to a shop as they are cutting in to the lowest price you can bargain.
