Shanghai and Pudong are well known for its glorious city line in Lujiazui, which sits on the east bank of Huangpu River, opposite the Bund. Benefitting from the policy of reform and opening up, Pudong is fast developing into a large forward-looking urban area, a pioneer for China’s modernization.
The area has contributed 5 billion yuan (US$740.38 million) to establish a complete system covering "raising, investment, management and withdrawal" of funds and is expected to leverage 100 billion yuan from the private sector for the construction of the pioneer area.
A scientific and technological innovation hub is taking shape in Pudong, supported by key labs, research institutes as well as big companies and tens of thousands of startups.
Apart from being a core financial area in China, Pudong also represents life and culture: it is a center of high-end fashion with the most shopping malls in Shanghai and a magnet for international residents with the city’s largest international communities.
