THIS IS HOW an ALL STAR CAST should preform.... All too often it's just a MESS OF NOISE. Love how each person is given space to preform. PLUS, a Great song.
This wa taken a year before Shania had her LP The Woman In me and it really changed the face of Country music way before Taylor Swift but it simply became the start of where the industry was heading and Shania still looks beautiful.
Taylor Swift didn`t change anything. Nothing special about her. She appeared when the road was already paved. She even moved to pop very quick. She didn`t discovered nothing new, didn`t pushed any bounderies. She is just the same as others, same fórmula. Plus, music had changed a lot since Shania exploded. Today, Taylor and any other artist post one video in their twitter/facebook/instagram/youtube etc. and it gets viral in seconds. Artists from the past worked harder to get their music out and played in radios or tv shows. Now it only takes a few clicks.
first song i ever learned......written by bob dylan.....covered by the byrds....flying buritto bros...........and a few others. great song, great version.
this is the apex of it all, Mother Maybelle, Dylan, Parsons, Cash, DIRT BAND. God Bless this generation and it's genuine roots. this is what made me love country music and I'm DAMN PROUD!!!
This is the song for the ages. Everybody plays it, everybody likes it and even my humble self has played harmonica with the Manure Moving Washtub Band in Corona, CA.
she was a fad. One big album then nothing. What was what 10-15 years ago or more. She is a perfect example of record company marketing of a pretty face. Loved "No One Needs To Know" great real country song then all that pop crap she did was a bait and switch (perfect example) that the record companies do to sell albums to everyone. Fine for those that fall for it. I just dont happen to be one.
@@amixofeverything He wrote it for the Byrds. Dylan loved country. Some of his fans, however, shame him with remarks like @omletpants snide remark above.
Did you know Bob Dylan and Earl Scruggs were good friends and Flatt and Scruggs recorded several of Dylan’s tunes in later years of their partnership. As a matter of fact Bob Dylan got off a bus in Nashville in 1979 and saw a young Marty Stuart standing on the street and ask Marty “aren’t you the boy that plays mandolin for Lester Flatt” and Marty says yes and Bob said does him and Earl Scruggs ever talk to one another and Marty said not as I know of and Bob said that’s a shame Abbot and Costello always said they were gonna get back together but Costello died before they could and after that Marty looked up Earl Scruggs phone number and said Mr.Scruggs I’m Marty Stuart that plays mandolin for Lester Flatt and Earl said yeah I know who you are and Marty said Lester’s in a bad way and I was wondering if you’d go with me to see him and Earl said sure I’ll go with you and Earl visited Lester in the hospital and they planned to get together and do some shows together but Lester died a few weeks later. This was just because Bob Dylan got off a bus in Nashville and saw a young Marty Stuart. So if you’re gonna call somebody a country hoot know your music hoss.
If I'm not mistaken, the soloist who begins at :54 seconds is Larry Stewart, the former front man for Restless Heart. Heck of a singer. Shania didn't ruin the song but she didn't add anything to it. It would take more than Shania to ruin this classic.
It had nothing to do with the 100s of millions of fans who bought her music, of the 10s of thousands of station programmers who aired her music? If you don't like her fine, but you'd be one of the few.
So Shania can't sing well with NGDB, they were obviously out of her voice range, she went falsetto, kinda failed it, then when she talks instead of sings, I feel she lost her key. just sayin.....
flybyday- fly blind Damn fool-Shania puts enough sensitivity and feel in her songs to sell over 100 million records, headline many sold out concerts world wide and asked to perform at many AMA, CMA award shows, and headline a very successful 2 year Las Vegas show. List your top accomplishments. Oh, the silence is deafening.-Ray
