She was still a teenager when 90210 started. How many of us screwed up jobs when we were teenagers? One of the seasoned vets should've pulled her aside and had a come to Jesus conversation. Everyone suffered because the show was not as good once she left.
@@jm7804 I find it hard to believe no one did. There were casting people brought to the set when she was behaving badly who had to talk her down. She had an agent, a manager, not to mention her mother had to know what was going on. She had been acting since she was little. She had to know there were ramifications. Perhaps she just wasn’t really listening. Perhaps she was believing herself above it all and bound for bigger and better things. A-List movie roles. She knew she was creating chaos. She just didn’t care.

back then she was a rotten person. i remember her being difficult, and a real snot. she was way over self assured and thought she wasnt replaceable, like most people she found out that she was wrong. she then had developed a bad reputation of being hard to work with, and her career took a hit.nobody's shit doesnt stink!
Yeah after he left and she left the show was bleeding viewers. The poor writing didn't help. Bringing Luke back living in a trailer doing who knows what didn't help as he was just hanging in the fringe carted out now and then for nostalgia. The show was already dead running on fumes. They introduced new cast but it wasn't the same.
You're so right. The graduation episode is the last I really have found memories of. That was the last time I was really enthusiastic about the show and it was a show I really didn't wanna miss a single episode when it began. @@briandiggs3508
I wouldn't call leaving here at just 53, a blessing. To depart life before her mother must be, and must've been very difficult for both. She still had goals left that will now go unfulfilled.
Beverly Hills 90210 was extremely popular in Brazil. I loved all the characters. I was gutted when Dylan and Brenda were no longer together because of Shannen's exit from the show. They were my number 1 couple in my adolescent years. ❤ I'm only 4 years younger than Shannen.
I love that she's having these conversations with her former colleagues. So often this kind of thing becomes gratuitous, but not here--they're having adult, self-aware discussions of the things that happened and leaving them behind. It's a healthy example she's setting for the audience.
@@SeminarioMAE Shannen just died at only age 53! Only TWO of the cast members are 60+. The majority have not even hit 55 yet, so I have zero idea what you are talking about.
I cannot believe Shannen passed away today 💔😔this breaks my heart life is so short man Beverly Hills 90210 is forever my show man rest in peace to the 90s queen
As someone who was bullied and rejected by my mates as a child and teen, I relate to Shannen a lot. I was suffering at home, because my mom was a narcissist, but nobody took the time to ask me if something was happening outside school. They only had time to judge.
I know exactly how you feel. My mother is a narcissist. Shit, my whole immediate family, older brother & sister, as well as my biological dad. My mom's 2nd husband was a psychopathic narcissistic drunk. He'd constantly abuse my physically. I'd fight back, and everytime my mom would take his side and call the cops. And everytime I'd go to juvenile jail. I had to deal with that for 6 years.
She was greatly missed after leaving 90210 and Charmed. Her talent is off the chain and her characters were not replaceable. That’s a testament to her brilliance.
Agree. 90210 went from being truly impactful to being just soap opera type fluff. I stopped watching after Shannon left. I kept watching Charmed, but it was definitely never the same either.
I love that Shannen is talking about the hard times in her life and her life now because the media made it seem like she was so hard to work with but that's not the case at all. She is so strong, talented, beautiful and just a kind and loving soul ❤
Agreed. Shan is an amazing actress and was a child one no less. She had a very sick father and had to support her family from day 1. She had a lot of pressure on her, and was ultimately very successful from childhood. She said recently tge world she was thrown into was very alluring. We’ve all seen the photos of her partying with Tori Spelling, BRIAN Austin Greene and Mark Wahlberg. It was probably very hard for a teen to navigate and the tabloids always want to make you look bad. I don’t think I’d want to be that successful and famous at that age.
Even though she was a handful onset, the show was never the same after she was fired, and that’s the truth! I was obsessed with the show when I was a teen in the 90s I missed her when she left!:(
Luke left for unknown reason then they sent her character to France then the Walsh parents divorced for some reason and the cast was scattered with their own separate storylines. The writing was all over the place without the loveable charm of the gang. Fans bailed and didn't last much longer. Part of what made Friends such a highly watched show that lasted so long was they kept their 6 key characters together for the full run.
For sure. The issue was her being late in season 4. She was very reliable for seasons 1-3 but when she married a drug addict, her life turned upside down. How she must regret that decision that resulted in a quick divorce and losing her job. She has owned it, but she did say she wished there was a moment when someone said this can’t continue, one more time and you’re outta here. Her father was very sick and some of the reason she was late was because he was in the hospital. To her credit she never listed any of this to the powers that be. She was not a complainer and she probably should have shared what she was going through. When Jason was on the podcast he said he wished he knew what Shan was going through because he could have done something to stick up for her and fix this. The cast had no idea and some of them were very intolerant of what was going on. It’s a pity because that’s when her career became blemished. Aaron Spelling knew she was a great actress and that’s why he cast her as the lead a few years later in charmed. Even with that Blemish, Shan did have the best career and was the best actor in the bunch.
@@moviefan4life166 Thanks for sharing. I didn't know that. She never explained why and back then there was no internet or social media so nobody knew what was going on. She went off to study abroad then the Walsh divorced so everyone just figured it was salary dispute so they were written off the show. Problem was the show lost its heart without Dillon Brenda love triangle and the loveable gang together so didn't last long before it was cancelled. At least she got a second chance with charmed.
I think no one wants to mention just how gift and talented SHANNON DOHERTY was/is! Both 90210 and Charmed whet downhill after her firings - she definitely deserves credit for kickstarting both shows with her undeniable talent and beauty!
Very true… I lost interest in 90210 once she left…. I didn’t even know the show had ran as long as it did… who knew that Donna and David eventually married on the show
well millions did watch for 6 years after she left so the show didn’t go downhill. Maybe Shannen should have been more professional and she wouldn’t have been fired from both shows
@@sarge7526I know, I just recently found out that the show went on for 6 more seasons, I had no clue. I checked these other seasons out & pretty much yearned for her character, I just couldn’t get into it. The show was never the same… The 3 characters that had major chemistry on camera was Shannen, Luke & Jason. In the first season when they brought Dylan into Brandon & Brenda’s life you could just feel the fire & connection. I found myself fast forwarding through a lot of the show when they weren’t on screen… RIP Shannen & Luke! ❤❤
I so Remember this as a child. I really felt for Shannen. Their was so many stories going around where she was Jealous of the other cast mates. Nasty to people on set. No one wanted to work with her because she did not get a long with others. Brenda was an important character to the show. When I think of that era, I think of Beverly Hills 90210. I would like to see Jamie Walters on her Podcast too. I feel for what happened to him back in the day also. People turned on him because of how he treated Donna on the show. But they were only playing characters & that's not who he was in real life.
I didn't watch the show, but she was also in the tabloids for her behavior and life outside of the show. Then similar types of stories popped up when she acted on a different show, again leaving the cast abruptly. I rarely trust tabloids, but I did see an interview with a landlord that was suing her or unpaid rent and because she damaged his rental property. He showed pictures of a filthy house that had dog excrement, stained carpet, filth and garbage left behind etc. It didn't help her reputation for being problematic. That story stuck out in my mind because I thought that someone with money could get an assistant to pay bills, dog walkers for pets, and maids to keep the house clean.
Ppl are literally so dumb when they hate on an actor cuz of the character they play.. its like hey.. thats just good acting. They are not really that person.
There was no social media back then so never heard of any of this. Wondered why they sent her character to France or something and then Luke disappeared somewhere and just thought it was terrible writing so lost interest in the show. Fans bailed and I think it was cancelled couple seasons later.
It’s funny how these celebrities feel so omnificent…until they’re not. Then they’re always: ‘misunderstood, coming from a bad place, going through a rough patch,’ but they never just say: ‘“I was a bitch to get along with or I felt entitled or spoiled.”’
Honestly I would have SO much more respect for her if she would just say "I was an entitled bitch and I am truly sorry. My behavior sucked then and I am still a bit of a narc now". Like just be honest dude.
Agreed. A little bit of rewriting history. Plus, at work I wouldn’t give a fuck if the person in the cube next to me was going thru a bad divorce if they were late all the time, acting like a complete bitch around the office, causing the team to miss deadlines. I would care as a person but as a colleague, your personal life is just that. Personal. She’s still not understanding that her personal issues are not something you bring to to the “office”. Her behavior was inexcusable, she would have gotten fired in an office environment too.
@@jenniferbond7073I agree, and now because she has cancer, people can’t call her out on her behaviour back then because they can’t be seen as the person who picks on a sick person. Narcissists like to rewrite history and play the victim.
Maxfrax333. Do you realize how you come across? You really shouldn’t go to every video related to Shannen and say the same toxic story. Look at comicon from this month and watch Jennie Garth saying the show went downhill after Shannen left and how she wishes Shannen stayed. This speaks volumes. Shan always had great relationships with all of the guys on the show and is best friends with Ian and Brian Austin Greene, and was close with Luke and discussing a show he personally wanted to do with her. Brian Austin Greene said he did the same things Shan did and was never let go. He didn’t even have to audition for the show. Shan was a child star who had to financially support her family because he dad had very serious health problems. She had huge amounts of pressure on her since she was a kid. When Winona Ryder was asked about Shannen on Heathers she said she seemed very hard working and was always practicing her during the shoot. Everyone minus Alyssa liked and respected her on Charmed. Anyssa has owned that she was insecure and wished she didn’t view Shan as a competitor. Alyssa only came on charmed because another actress pulled out and she always felt like second choice and her ego wanted. To be the star and get first on the credits. She got what she wanted. All of the stars and staff on Charmed confirmed this. Shan was a very hard worker with high standards and was directing episodes. Alyssa meanwhile had a toxic mother who tried to sever the friendship between Holly and Shan. Holly and Shan are very tight and Alyssa is not friends with any of the cast nor will she appear with any of the cast at events because they all cannot stand her. Meanwhile the full cast of 90210 are all embracing and enjoying Shan. I’ve had interactions with her and can she she’s always been sweet and seems to have a very good sense of humor.
@@moviefan4life166 I also saw an interview with Deidre Hall who worked with Shannon on Our house and although she didn’t say much she stated that Shannon was “ misunderstood “. I don’t know what happened on Charmed as i wasn’t really into the show but judging by how Alissa has reacted over the last few years your comments don’t shock me.
@@moviefan4life166 I am coming across as truthful - exactly as the way she was reported as being during her days on "90210". I don't think I am going on every Shannen video and posting the same comment (or same "toxic story" as you call it). Based on your comment, you sound like her publicist. Maybe you should go back and read some articles posted about her during "those days" and why Aaron Spelling fired her.
They should have worked things out with her - and had her take a few episodes off to deal with personal matters and then had her come back. The show was NEVER as good without her.
I agree totally! There had to be some type of non permanent dismissal, it’s not like she was an extra they could sadly still let go, she was 90210 ya know❤ maybe a few months to work out what she was going through and they could have said she was in Paris in the storyline where she once went
Listen to the 90210 Show podcast. They tried. She didn’t make it easy for them. And she complained about the show and said she was unhappy being on the show and everyone knew it.
Unfortunately, I do believe that all of the "stories" about her antics backstage at 90210 were true. She believed that she WAS 90210 and that the show wouldn't be able to go on without her. I was a kid when all of her drama played out in the media and it was one thing after the other with her: On set antics, bar fights, boyfriend, husband issues, etc. It's easy for her to apologize NOW. Yes, they wanted to get rid of her for awhile on that show and I believe that they pondered recasting Tiffani Thiessen as the new Brenda initially. Tiffani was immensely popular on "Saved By the Bell." I feel bad about her current predicament, but Shannon caused a lot of drama back in those days. It was in the media everyday back then and it did contribute to the popularity of "90210" back then.
To be fair Spelling gave her another show later so I suspect they worked things out. Also she said Luke Perry actually went to see her during her cancer treatment unexpectedly.
@@suzannec8400 He did give her another show but then she did her share to blow that one up too. A shame because she was great as Prue. With a little maturity she became a better actress by then, compared to 90210. (She was good as Brenda but she also had a tendency at times to be a little wooden and unconvincing.)
There is nothing at this point in time that would ever make me look at Shannen and think anything but love and gratitude for all of the hours fun and excitement that she and her co star's gave me over the years, lots of memories, same goes for Luke Perry, love both of you and always will...
Beautiful comment. If everyone thought like you we’d have one amazing world. Shan has been working since age 10 to support her family and has had an amazing relationship with her mom and dad. She had to be an adult at the expense of not really getting to be a kid. She like all of us has had some moments where looking back she’d love to do it differently but she’s a really great actress and she’s a lovely woman.
We are the same age. Shannon first impressed me in a Father Murphy 2 parter. Wonderful acting. Then Litlle House, Our House and then 90210. She just has Star quality. Back then i hated hearing about the car crash her career was turning into and hoped it wud stop. Id love a 90210 reboot. Sending love Shannen. ❤️
It's just like that - people who have a direct and non-conformist personality are quickly seen as uncomfortable or capricious in those around them. This is actually very unfortunate. Because we humans are always told that we should be authentic. If it's us then it's not right either. I just hope that Shannen, who was born in my class, has many more good years ahead of her - despite her serious illness ❤🍀💪🏻🙏🏻!!! Shannen - there was always a little bit of you in the character Brenda and we celebrated you very much for that back then!!!
Give me a break. There’s a difference between being “direct and authentic” and just being an arrogant selfish a-hole. Are you one of those people who prides themselves on being “direct and authentic” but is viewed by many people as being an arrogant selfish a-hole? Guess what, you might actually just be an arrogant selfish a-hole.
Right but if someone (not only Shannen but anyone) has a blunt and direct personality it can and will make others uncomfortable. And it can hurt other people's feelings. So people have to know that if they choose to be like that there will be consequences to that. Maybe blunt non-conformists should hang out with other blunt non-conformists:). That might be easier.
@@denisealexis4025 Good point. I’ll take it a step further and add that in my experience some people, not all but some, who describe themselves as “honest and direct” are actually just jerks making excuses for themselves and their jerk behavior, and they want others to see their jerk behavior as a virtue. It’s not a virtue.
@@EastSide-qc5oy EXACTLY 💯. It's NOT a virtue to be a jerk. And the other thing that irks me is if you try to be as "direct" with these people they actually get offended lol. People are actually unbelievable! That's why I enjoy animals and children so much. 😂
Shannon has evolved and I definitely wish her the best. But it's no secret that she was difficult back in the day and there were numerous anecdotes of her not being a very kind person. I hope she can make her peace. 🙏🙏🏾🙏🏻
Honestly, most people know if you come to work late regularly you will be fired. Not to mention what would have been a very tense environment on the set the more fed up people were with it. I can't imagine she was fired with zero warning...if for no other reason than the impact to the show when a main character is abruptly axed. Lesser things have effected ratings.
I dunno.... Hollywood aren't exactly known for having HR departments or employment/disciplinary policies (other than a contract for the show they're working on), especially back in the 80s/90s. Also, actors are self employed, which would make them contractors (rather than full time employees) - which is also why they need an agent and their own accountant. I'm a contractor, and although not the same industry, I'm guessing the less tolerant terms of contract (compared to permanent employees) applies to contractors in any industry. There are clauses in our contracts which states that the "end client" (employer) is entitled to abruptly end the contract whenever they want. It also usually states that if the contractor wants to leave they only need to give 1-2 weeks notice (rather than a month that full time employees are expected to give). I've witnessed my contractor coworkers be asked to leave without warning due to continuous lateness and/or too many sick days. One day they're there, the next day, everyone's asking "where's Charlie?" Lol!
This is just proof that when a colleague or friend is pissing you off, you never now what is going on their personal lives. Some people are able to share and get that support, and some people struggle with that. I am happy she is able to tell her truth and get some support from her friends and former co-stars.
I don't understand why she thought she deserved a stern talking to when she showed up late for work and also clashed with co-workers. Shannen developed a bad reputation and was fired from job after job, was arrested multiple times, was married or engaged ten times, and caused chaos on multiple sets. As talented as she was (and she clearly was), she surrounded herself with drama. No amount of lectures would have changed her bad on-set attitude, and we know this because she was fired from multiple shows: she never learned.
Shannen Doherty says she cried “every single night” while filming Season Two of “Charmed.” During the week episode of her podcast, “Let’s Be Clear With Shannen Doherty,”the 52-year-old spoke with former co-star Holly Marie Combs about behind-the-scenes tension on the early 2000s hit specifically the”lack of female support” with Alyssa Milano. During the first season of Charmed, Combs underwent surgery to remove a uterine tumor, which brought filming to a temporary stop. Doherty explained on her podcast that she tried to visit her friend and fellow actor in the hospital post procedure, but said Milano got in the way.”I waited 24 hours after your surgery to go, and then it wasn’t even easy for me to get in. I was being told I couldn’t even get in by Alyssa and her mom,"Doherty said. "They were blocking people from seeing you but at the time, you didn't know.” Following the situation at the hospital, Doherty and Combs, 50, experienced a strain in their relationship that led into the next season of the show. I remembered you texted me and were like, ‘Dude, are you going to come and see me? And I can feel your pain of feeling like I’d abandoned you,” Doherty said to Combs.”But I also felt like my anger at the situation of not being allowed to come see you, and how sort of family had swooped in and caused this sort of weird divide between the two of us that then continued throughout Season 2 where I cried every single night.TODAY” reached out to Milano about Doherty’s podcast remarks but did not receive a response. As the original “power of three” sisters on the show, Doherty played Prue, Combs portrayed Piper and Milano took on Phoebe, all of whom discovered that they were witches. After 3 seasons, Doherty left “Charmed"and was replaced by Rose McGowan’s character, Paige. Doherty previously attributed her departure to according to ET interview.”There was too much drama on the set and not enough passion for the work,”she said at the time. Milano addressed her co-star's departure in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, saying, I’m very laid-back and passive. I have my Buddha. I come in here and meditate (Shannen has) got a lot of energy, she’s very headstrong, she wants to get the job done. But 20 years later, Milano told ET in a 2021 interview that the two of them were on better terms. Shannen said hinted during this week's episode of her podcast that she doesn't expect a reconciliation with Milano any time soon.”I heard that she addressed it the competitiveness in her book,"Doherty said, referring to Milano’s 2021 book "Sorry Not Sorry."”Obviously, I’m never reading her book because it’s (called) "Sorry, Not Sorry." So right there, you know, it tells me you’re not freaking sorry. When Doherty asked her about her take on the drama surrounding Season Two, Combs took a rather neutral position, but didn't shy away from admitting there was tension. Combs said Doherty, was fired despite from the show despite saying she quit after its third season. Combs also recalled a conversation she had with”Charmed" producer Jonathan Levin, who allegedly told her that Milano threatened to sue for hostile workplace environment if Doherty wasn't fired from the show. He said, you know, We're basically in a position where it's one or the other. We were told [by Alyssal that it's Shannen or me, and Alyssa has threatened to sue us if we didn’t fire Shannen. Well, like my parents used to tell me “its not everybody else its you!"So when Shannon, Holly and Rose have all come out and said Alyssa a B...l'm going to say that girl is probably a B. It appears the real Book of Shadows has finally been un-veiled.
Yeah it was also Alyssa’s fault that everyone got sick of Shannen on the set of 90210 and wanted her fired. And earlier than that, when 90210 was brand new and casting for Brenda and considering Shannen, casting director Joanna Ray received a call from a producer saying “whatever you do, do not hire that girl.” Yup that was all Alyssa too.
@@lolayaiii5056 I was being sarcastic. It clearly had nothing to do with Alyssa Milano when Shannen had problems on the set of 90210. Shannen’s weird fans always blame everyone but Shannen.
@@EastSide-qc5oyWhy is it that Shannen has made peace with her 90210 co stars and are all friends now? Because clearly they were able to talk it out and Jennie actually made a real apology to Shannen for her part too, now on Charmed, all the regular cast members have an issue with Alyssa now, Shannen, Holly, Rose, Brian, Drew all don’t get on with her, this shows that on charmed Alyssa was the problem
I wasn't the biggest Shannen fan, but I was a fan of 90210 and Charmed. You rarely get the real story about celebrities, but I decided that the storyies about her attitude had to be true when she was fired from Charmed. It was clear she was a diva and did not learn her lesson after 90210. That being said, I do not wish cancer on anyone and it is a terrible shame what she has had to endure and what is coming. No one deserves her fate.
Shannon made life difficult during 90210 but it has become clear Alyssa Milano was the issue on Charmed and is largely why Shannon got fired. Holly Marie Combs has told the truth about that. Alyssa was the problem and told the producers either she goes or Shannon goes and if they fire her (Alyssa) she would sue them. She basically backed them into a corner.
@@flagler88 That’s not accurate. There were a lot of problems on the Charmed set. The producers helped create some of the toxicity there, both Shannen and Holly have confirmed that. Alyssa and Shannen got along at first but by the second-third season they didn’t. Alyssa may very well have been a diva in her own way but that doesn’t mean it was all on her. Shannen played her own part in how that played out. She was frequently butting heads with production and they eventually got tired of her. Whether or not the story is true that Alyssa issued an ultimatum to the show (“either she goes or I go”) it’s only Holly telling us that one producer told her that. There’s no way I’ll ever believe after the havoc Shannen stirred up on the 90210 set that just a few short years later on Charmed she was suddenly a different person and behaved like an angel.
@@flagler88 Did you listen to the entire podcast between Holly and Shannen? Because much of what I wrote above is supported by her comments. And she’s made other comments elsewhere in interviews that support what I’m saying. Did you know even Holly and Shannen had a falling out not too long ago and weren’t speaking and referred to each other in interviews as basically not friends anymore? They’ve since patched things up apparently but there were more issues between all these women than just one person. Oh and Holly even admitted that there was friction between her and Shannen on the Charmed set. Oh sure but it was all Alyssa being the problem on Charmed. B.S. And I say that not to defend Milano because like I said she may very well have had her diva moments but with all that’s come out about Shannen you’d have to be crazy to think it was all Alyssa’s fault on Charmed.
@@EastSide-qc5oy I think her firing was all Alyssa's fault, yes. You choose to believe certain things some producers say and not others and are judging Shannon on past behaviour and assuming after 6 years she couldn't change. They also talked about Alyssa's possessive nature and her being jealous of Shannon. Feel free to mostly blame Shannon for this but I don't. I believe Alyssa had her fired regardless of whatever else was going on.
when Shannon left.. 90210 just lost it's spark. it wasn't the same anymore. tiffany was a great addition - I loved her! but it became a different show without Brenda.
She was rude, disrespectful, self entitled and conflictual. She needs to apologize and humble herself. People have personal issues sometimes very devastating ones, yet they won't go and bully everyone around them. She's just embellishing the whole thing instead of saying, I was young and made mistakes and I wish I can go back now and do things differently. I was disappointed to hear excuses about why she was late. She wasn't fired because she was late, it was about the whole toxic environment.
@@suzannec8400 I wasn't there, but her costars reported all this, Jennie, Jason, Tori and Ian along with actress who played Brenda's mother. Not to include technical and production team
She should have taken herself out of the situation by requesting a leave of absence from her job so she could resolve things in her personal life. Sometimes young people don't know how to reach out for help when life becomes overwhelming. It happened to me, and I lost my job at a stressful time in my personal life. I told no one what was going on but that was a mistake.
If you actually listened to her podcast, you would know that she has taken accountability for her behavior. You just don't want to hear the FULL story. There are multiple sides to every story and then there is the truth. Also keep in mind none of them including Jennie and Tori were angels on set. None of them to my knowledge have acknowledged their bad behavior. Especially Jennie regarding her poor treatment of Brian's then girlfriend Vanessa Marcil. @@sarahs8110
Shannen was AWFUL back in the day. Now she is trying to rewrite the past. She was fired from 90210 and Charmed for being difficult to work, drunk, and volatile. And she was always in the tabloids for getting into fist fights and getting DUIs. She got arrested more than once. Why is everyone trying so hard to paint a new picture of her? She was who she was. She may have grown up since then but DON'T LIE.
I love Shannen as an actress but also as a person who is very authentic and honest. She is also extremely talented, Beverly Hills and Charmed were not the same after she left and that is a testament to her acting skills and presence. Wish her only the best.
I am a huge Shannen fan , at the end of the day she was an adult on a hit show causing them time and money each day while waiting for her to show up. At that time honestly if someone had sat her down - I don't think she would have listened - I think the behavior would have gotten worse!
I get she has regrets and a sore spot for what happened due to her behavior and lifestyle back then, but I learned yrs ago to move on and keep the past the past, reaching out for closure doesn't do much good, as most ppl from 10-30 yrs ago wish you no harm but have more than likely 100% moved on and made new friends and memories and forgot about you except maybe a fleeting memory of a good time or times you shared. The only ppl that look back are ppl with regrets or are unfulfilled due to factors they chose, happy ppl don't have much time for yesterdays and what it's, they are too busy living life and enjoying family etc.
You are right, she is just trying to make peace with it because of her illness.....illness does not automatically make you a nice person all of a sudden..... I once had a co-worker with MS, he was the most horrible person on earth also before and during......
I'm surprised other cast members (Kelly and Donna) haven't supported her in her cancer battle. I've never heard them talk about Shannon or give her any public support which would have been nice
I’m pretty sure most of them have made statements on social media supporting her. Even Jennie who she somewhat famously did not get along with on set. Jennie actually wrote a pretty touching tribute to her, acknowledging the past troubles but framing them in a positive way (like I now look up to you and respect you even though we got in each other’s way back then, kind of thing). That said, based on things Jennie and Tori have said in interviews, it doesn’t sound like either of them are particularly close with her. They all have a bond as a group, but not necessarily a close friendship between all of them all the time.
Thanks for bringing to light the drama dv can cause, I've lost a job for the exact same thing just earlier this year. 4 minutes late from arguments and gaslighting.
Yep. Tis fact. She just said at comicon this week when asked which episode was her favorite, she said definitely not the last one because I had no idea it was my last one. She did it to herself, but the show should have at least had a sit down. Aaron Spelling knew he made a mistake and in time the whole cast knew. Shan was responsible but after 4 hit seasons, she was the lead and should have at least been told one more time and the done. There was mixed feelings about this because none of the guys wanted her off the show. Tori was friends with Shan and Jennie and Jennie was really not happy with things. Tori told her father he needs to do something and that’s what happened. In hindsight Jennie and Tori but wish she had stayed and have said so multiple times including Jennie saying it at comicon this month. She and Shan are on great terms now and it meant a lot to Shan. There was a lot of pressure on these stars truly.
She has no one to blame but herself. She was late to work all the time, she was nasty to her coworkers, she was demanding and a burden. It was hardly the first job she's been fired from due to her personality.
I still want to know what exactly happened between her and Alyssa Milano on Charmed. I started watching Charmed because I had become a huge fan of Shannon's from watching 90210
She needed someone to actually tell her she couldn’t do all the stuff she was doing or she was gonna get fired? Common sense should have told her that!
The sad thing is that kids these days will never have the types of TV shows we grew up with that truly was about mixing entertainment and real life themes. They helped us cope and grow up. These days it’s all just cut up into 40 second tik tocs. So sad.
IF YOU LOOK AT HER DURING THE INTERVIEW, her face looks so fatigued for being sick for so long and she caked herself with makeup to try and cover it up. Plus, you can tell she is wearing a Whig. Lets be clear. Most celebrities going through what she did and was currently dealing with would drop out of the spotlight because they would want to be remembered for how they used to look. Shannen still wanted to be out there and that makes her so strong. She had things to express and say. She didn't care how sick she was. I find that so amazing.
I think it was more than just being late. She was known for being difficult. (She has great perspective on it all now.) It would have been NICE if someone sat her down for “come to Jesus”…but they weren’t obligated. That said, Shannon was a big part of 90210, so it would’ve benefited the show to try to keep her for the sake of the show.
I loved the show and never like Brenda. But I respect Shannon. She has come so far and so much but she is still fighting. I appreciate her honest and taking accountability for her role in the drama. In the end lying or covering up does her journey a disservice. Own it all. That's how u get closure and grow. My her life on this world lead to beautifuls things in the next life. May we all have such courage to heal and move on from things.
Movies and TV are big business. Having the cast & crew (sometimes 30 or 40 people+) wait on a single actor is incredibly expensive. These are union shows and there are limits on hours worked, mandated breaks, etc. etc. You add up what these people are making and she was easily costing them tens of thousands of dollars an hour of lost production time. I don't even work in the industry and I know this. How did she not? Call Sheets have the time the actor needs to be on set, and they calculate the day's shooting schedule based on that. There is no asterisk by anyone's name that says "Or whenever they feel like showing up."
Shannen (Brenda) was always my favorite character on the show, and the one I felt was the cutest. When she was gone, 90210 went way downhill! I was surprised the show was able to limp its way to its series finale in 2000. With the exception of the series finale, the script-writing of that show in the last two years was just simply awful!
Exactly!! Show was about the Walsh family adjusting to a new life and when Brenda left, it started to decline.....I reckon after Dylan left after his wife was killed
