Wesley Pipes Lonzo was hyped... But he did have a solid rollie season... Donovan is better at the moment... That's also subjective because Donovan and Lonzo have two different styles if play... Taking shots at Lithuanian basketball Joy? They have been a powerhouse in world basketball for decades despite having a population of 2.5 million. They are without a doubt one of the strongest basketball nations in the world. In the world basketball championship, they placed 4th in 2014 and 3rd in 2010. To compare, USA placed 3rd in 2006 with Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Dwight Howard, Melo, Chris Paul and placed 6th in 2002. They have an excellent youth system and a very good cultural understanding of how the game should be played. Anybody who doesn't respect Lithuanian basketball does not know basketball.

Ian Graves Melo was ranked 6th in the ESPN top 100, which means he was primed to not only go to the nba but be a potential future nba star. Just look at the top 20 ranked players in the last several years and where they ended up, and thats with lamelo being a year declared ahead (hes actually playing up a graduation year, hes a true sophomore). Then his dad took him out of high school, put him in lithuania where he got 11-12 minutes a game, and based on the ball in the family show has not been doing much to get better

Lonzo took the passive approach by getting his girlfriend pregnant. That what his way say of telling Lavar, "I'm in control of this now." Gelo, I'm not sure why he hasn't taken control either, but then again Skip hit it on the head. Lavar has practically convinced them that the only way they can play is if he's the coach and they play together. If that doesn't sound like a control freak, I don't know what does.

Chino Hills won the division 1 championship. When the Ball brothers were there, they played in the open division. Teams in the open division are usually quite better than teams in division 1. Teams in the open division are also usually private like Mater Dei. I'm not saying that Chino Hills's win in D1 isn't impressive, I'm just saying that they are not the same as when they won with the Ball brothers.

If Chino hills have to drop a division to win a championship, then it's no proof to me that they COULD do it without the Balls. Stay in the SAME division and prove you don't need them! Sometimes you can't stay in the same division. The league changes the parameters (school size, location, school district realignment) for the league and they end up in another division not by choice.

Gelo was never making the NBA anyway. Melo WAS a legit prospect, but poor coaching and poor work ethic has really deteriorated his chances. Still has time to turn it around given his age, but this whole Lithuanian fiasco has pushed him back a few years. Would be interesting to see Gelo in football pads 🤔

Brent Foster Stay on Subject with your argument. the fact of the matter is they are playing in a lower division and Shannon was making it seem like LaMelo’s absence was the reason they won state and not the reason they started the season off barely above .500. whether or not LaMelo wanted to be in Lithuania is irrelevant to the way Shannon presented his argument

Hoop Life I didn't say that Melo being gone was the reason they were successful. However, they were successful in spite of him not being there. So what if the REGULAR SEASON wasn't the same. The end result is a State championship. Plus, what I want to know is what was the reason that Chino Hills was moved to another division? Also, as I have said before, I'm willing to bet that Melo would much rather have played in a lower division and win State than playing in middle of nowhere Lithuania because of Lavar.

they're going to be just fine. they'll make it to the NBA as long as they keep playing anywhere they can and keep striving. no matter the controversy, as long as they have talent, there will be scouts. I can see them going in the G League before the NBA, but the 2 youngest sons will have to make their own decisions sooner than later.

EL Plagua He was already committed to UCLA as a freshman. Lonzo and Gelo were both able to finish out their high school years, but because Lavar didn't want to step back and let the coach at Chino Hills do his job, this happened.

Lamelo was ranked 6th on the ESPN top 60 high school players for his class of 2019. He had two more years playing against good hs conpetition with his friends and cousin (andre ball), play aau on the best circut, nike eybl, and had a full ride scholarship to UCLA (a great d1 basketball school and school in general). His dad pulled him out of all of that so that he could play 11 minutes a game in lithuania and now we dont even know whats next. If he gets into Euroleague it can work out, if he doesnt than what does he do then... ?

The Knight of Awesomeness they won states in a lower division then they played at when melo was there, and the kid that shannon was talking about is ranked #16 in the class of 2019 and hes been on the team since he was a freshman with melo, on the same year that lonzo was a senior

I've been saying this since day one Leanne Fresquez I have seen this kind of parent in two sports at the AAU level when I was playing and it was just sad and awful to see Parents so deliberately living out their dreams through their children. But then taking it to the nth degree and just ruining the game for them and then the parents acting like children when coaches with no vested interest in the kids playing would bench them or call them out on mistakes. These are the kind of AAU parents ruining the sport that's right RUINING it...Also don't act like Lavar is a marketing genius his brand name is just absolute garbage and he is the ultimate walking publicity stunt to grow his name...if you didn't see this train wreck coming I seriously doubt your judgment of what true character and bravado is.

Oh so Liangelo....and Lamelo have earned what??? They were really good high school players okay....Liangelo barely got tick at UCLA and Lamelo hasn't even played in the NCAA. They played on the development team of the worst team in Lithuania they haven't earned anything yet to have their father declare they will only play together in the NBA. Lavar is already internationally famous. What more do he need? The whole damn family is famous. Melo is the biggest celebrity out of all of them. Javi Rt couple of points on this: 1) they are well paid experts and I do not think, that covering Balls a lot is keeping them aflot in life. I think they would be pretty well off without covering them extensively, 2) analytical integrity in this case matters as both of them use sensationalism rather than analytical insights to maybe earn few extra bucks. This story about Balls required no analysis of any kind. So they took an easy way out rather than doing basketball research onuka Doncic or whatever and 3) ratings pay the bills is not a valid reasons to become TMZ, if it would be we would be still covering only Kardashians and NBA basketball hookups :)

The problem with this show and shows like it is that people act as if their views are the views of the masses. They care much more about “Ball in the family” then we do. Lonzo had a good rookie year. He almost averaged a triple double. The other 2 ball brothers can play. If they get picked up? Cool. If they don’t? Life goes on. It’s not a deep dive interpersonal type of thing all the time. These shows take the fun out of sports for me. I stopped watching the show. Just subscribe online to catch a hot topic now and then. I see I have to unsubscribe now.

If you would watch the show on Facebook you haters would see that when ever they would open up a pop up shop the turnout would be off the charts. They had lines wrapped around blocks in both China and London. LaMelo got a year of experience playing basketball with a professional team. Luka Doncic signed with a pro team in Europe when he was 13 years old and in June he could be the #2 pick in the draft. LaMelo will play for another professional team some where the next two seasons getting paid more money than any 17 and 18 year old basketball player is making in this country while also receiving professional coaching and then he will get drafted in the first round of the 2020 NBA draft. LiAngelo will probably play another year or two in some professional league before realizing that he doesn't have the talent to play in the NBA, but that's cool because he will always have a job working for BBB where he will make millions of dollars...lol

I like the Ball Family and i watched then show, but let's be honest, Melo didn't want to be there (which I can't blame him, he's was driving a Lamborghini in LA) and didn't work hard. Melo wasn't ready to be pro and that's ok, but now his eligibility is messed up which isn't good for his future.
