I know the WNBA higher-ups are happy with the attention the W is getting. Women have been fighting for better accommodations and a bigger cut of the revenues for years. So what made Ms. Clark so special that people just recognized it was a problem? What was it? It was media exploiting her because she was nearing scoring records and she shoots unusually far out for a woman, which she has a low percentage in making at this point. All the new eyes think her game is something special and As Ms. Carter stated, the long ball is all that is new. Diana Taurasi is the premier long distance shooter for women. And most women shoot the three within three feet of the line. I have been watching the greats like Sheryl Swoopes since she was in college and WNBA stars like Katie Smith, Cynthia Cooper, Tina Thompson, Sue Wicks, Michelle Timms...I go way back. And I have seen no other woman shoot from 30 to 32 feet like Ms. Clark. But the question is, is she making those shots consistently and is it helping her team win games? And the serious answer is no. Everyone that has watched the game for years has nailed it. Those that just starting watching the game in the last few years for what ever reason are clueless. Former pro athletes should be the experts at knowing there are major differences from pro competition and amateur competition and that few rookies in any sport actually light up a league and change the sport. The best basketball rookie in the US is Victor Wembanyama by far and what did he do for the Spurs chances this year? He is a work in process and that is the same for Caitlyn Clark. And she has more work to do than Wembanyama to meet fan's expectations because of media and fan's misconception of her talent.
