Not only has Shanti made Singapore so proud. She sang and was swaying to our national anthem. So beautiful and proud to watch. I sincerely hope our government recognises it and PM, don’t forget to mention Shanti in your national day speech!

I specifically google 200M+ shanti+medal ceremony just to see Shanti receiving the medal and hear the national anthem of Singapore being played with shanti's reation to it. So touching and so pleased with her. I remember seeing her at the KL SEA games. Everyone in the stadium cheered for her..including us Malaysian's. Something special about this athlete.

The top runners will usually do just enough to qualify for the next stage in the heats and semis to conserve energy. There's no point going all out in the heats. For Shanti, besides the 200m, she also competed in the 100m and 4x100 relays. Including heats and semis, That's a total of 8 races in 4 days. Going all out in every race will take a toll on the body.

Prior to this race, it was reported that the Indian sprinter will top this 200m race in the Mass Media. However a sprinter from Singapore snatched the race from India and China. What a dream when they woke up!.
