I was a student of master yang in south Boston (YMAA) as I kid and am now getting back into sho-lin, tia-chi and other northern styles and when I do what you just did there seems to be a few ways I project and I struggle with causing the right one for the occasion. One looks much like what is demonstrated where it's like gently being pushed off your base by finding thier spine via the appendage and sending a somewhat relaxed shove using relaxed muscles and the squishy bits of the body, one feels like being hit with a lead filled plastic dent hammer another seems perfect for jiggling internal organs, it would be awesome if perhaps you could demonstrate some of these things and put names to them so I can find appropriate guidence in how to gain a bit more control and reliability. I have also found in the past that knowing how you are breathing often helps clarify things as it seems that some form of abdominal or reverse abdominal breathing is usually involved. Anyway great videos love both your work thanks for sharing what for me was considered inner door back in the day.

🙏 I have felt this before. When I was 17, I wanted to learn Kung Fu. My friends introduced me to a very special teacher. He told me to attack him in any way, with all I got. Young and dumb, I came at him like a windmill. LOL! Before I knew it, I was repelled back about 6 yards! No pain ~ Like being teleported. I tried to attack him again. Same thing. I couldn't believe it. He laughed and suggested I study with his daughter. Which I did for a few lessons and then had to move away. Another time that I felt this energy was when I was learning how to shoot a gun. My teacher was an Israeli martial artist. I was unconsciously holding the gun incorrectly. He disarmed me in less than a blink of an eye~ with no external feeling force. It was like being knocked unconscious for a split second (with no painful blow) and waking up far away and disarmed. So it is real and not a joke. It must be a lot of fun for two masters to play around with this energy. 😃 🙏 Now, how to learn?

Personally I think that the two grand masters are equally good and this demonstration was on purpose showing that you really have to do the work to receive this level. Shi Heng Yi could have stayed in place if he had wanted to, just for this demonstration he chose not to. Very nice video liked it very much ❤❤❤❤

So how do we learn this? In Tai Chi, in the first level of push hands, we learn to feel the partner's root and to release it - Ti Fang. The hop or the bounce back is due to moving the entire structure. The application of momentum against the sensed *rigid* structure of the partner, is similar to what happens if you put a tennis ball on top of a basketball and drop both of them from 3 or 4 feet. Be careful, b/c the momentum of the basketball will be transferred to the tennis ball very powerfully upward, and could result in a black eye, if your head is in the way. Learning to do this 'party trick' does require some guidance and a few hours or less of practice.

I've also seen the demonstration of using Qi to boil a bowl of water. ❤️♾️❤️ Love the teaching videos! Love the demonstration videos! Peace & blessings❤️♾️❤️

I saw this energy channeled by my Taiwanese bf in karate class: He was about 145 lb, but if he chose to, he was able to stand in class and none of the black belts could lift his legs from the floor. My Sensei would ask him to do this to show how chi can be used. It fascinates me. Thank you, Grandmaster and Master, for this fun video. (How is it done though??)

I met him in my karate class, and he had earned a black belt there before I joined. He also knew all the joint locks and pressure points, but idk if that was a specific 'style' or if he learned on his own. My Sensei trains at a very high level and is not American. I was/am very lucky to have found my Sensei as well as his dojo.

Tai Chi Chuan has the power of "rooting"; you become supremely conscious of your connection to the ground, through your feet. Force is the either distributed down into the ground through the feet , and/or dispersed upwards through the LPHC and core simultaneously. This creates that flexible strength that makes one difficult to move. It is also a useful skill for the prevention of injury; it is difficult to accidentally fall with even a rudimentary understanding of rooting such as I have.

Well done These is a true demonstration of internal martial arts. Master shi heng yi is thrown because of the chin issued by the other masters palm. This is called fa jin. It is divided into two. Long fa jin and short fa jin. Long is used in this video. It makes the opponent fly back a few meters or move back a lot of distance depending on how it is used. Short is used to completely destroy the internal organs crush blood vessels. This is no joke and requires months of cultivation to get. These techniques are traditionally taught only to closed-door disciples(Tudi) . First the disciple creates a powerful body structure (that's what master shi heng yi meant). Then learns to root his body and then root his energy. He then learns to discharge energy (fa jin). This types of games are practiced across China by disciples in order to test and hone their skills. The other master first absorbed energy via his feet,then channeled it into his arms while simultaneously condensing his energy into the bones of his arms to create jing and then issues it via his palms. Both are indeed true masters. For more information read THE ESSENCE OF INTERNAL MARTIAL ARTS VOL 2 by JERRY ALAN JOHNSON. Thank you.

I'm not sure how useful this would be in fighting. This is a casual setting and they are both actually cooperating. They show this as a demonstration of being able to control and use your chi. It may be real but It doesn't mean they could actually use this in a fight. Although at some level I guess you could, but you'd have to truly be a master at it. Imagine you learn of a judo move in the dojo, and you become quite good at it, you can really swftly throw people on the ground with grace with this move. Well, once in a street fight, you better just fight with your instinct, because if you think you can just throw to other guy on the ground like you could throw your practice partner in the dojo, you are truly mistaken! I think this demonstration fall under the same category. It shows a real thing, but that thing won't necessarily help you in a fight. That is why they call it a "party trick".

There are various esoteric transfers of energy practices unknown to most of the world's population due to lack of knowledge, exposure, or practical experience about the subject. At 1st glance, it looks like efficiency momentum moves are being used; however, to me, it seems more than that. Both Shifus are masters of masters, serious people about their practices, & individuals who do not waste their followers' time by faking an exhibition. Shifu Shi Heng Yi is a mentally & physically able monk & practitioner who wouldn't allow himself to be bounced around so as to fool the public. However, both Shifus do seem to be having fun demonstrating their developed methods & defense practices. In a past yoga class, I was taught that there is more to life than can be experienced at superficial levels, & that most out of the norm knowledge, in the areas of meditation, yoga, & qigong can be amazing, wondrous disciplines that can lead one to physical & psychological health. I say this because years ago, I had the privilege of enrolling in an ongoing Kundalini Yoga extension class sponsored by a state junior college that was taught by one of the founders of the Kundalini Research Institute at an ashram conducive to meditation & yoga practices. However, I must clearly state that unlike present-day belief, NO ONE, in this class, ever exhibited seizures, sexual deviance, psychotic behavior, or the bogus Kundalini syndrome. Learning took place in a tranquil, holistic, & semi-dark non-threatening environment. En-depth meditation, breath, & yoga practices exposed us to safe out of the norm experiences. The following is one of many examples: At one class session, we were asked to find a partner. As pairs, while in the Lotus Position, we performed breath, meditation, & yoga exercises for a set period of time. After which, each member of a pair separated to an opposite long end of the room. While in total darkness, we were asked to find our partner, which everyone did without difficulties. Like Starling birds in flight, no one collided with others or with walls. At times when some students came near walls or people, rays of static electricity became visible, & energy transference could be felt. Out of norm experiences were none-threatening to the group, as attendance was kept to 100%. We, who were part of the Kundalini class, merely touched the very tip of an iceberg of esoteric untaught knowledge. One can only imagine the valuable vignettes, life-long mediators, & qigong practitioners can relate to us about their extraordinary esoteric experiences. I do believe that Shifu Jiang Yu Shan is using momentum + developed defensive energy, & this ability did not happen overnight. Both Shifus, as administrator at verios high levels, know their their disciplines inside-out.

I think I can understand it a little bit. After thinking about it for some time. Basically when some type of force is coming your way, you instinctively try to stay balance. In order to balance your body and to stay safe, if I may call it this way, you direct the energy inside your body to move or to make movement in such a way the energy used to move is somewhat in par with the energy that is forcefully sent to you by the other party

I respect and admire the skills and techniques these guys have aquired over decades of hard training and discipline. They do not however have any applicability in an actual fight, and to claim otherwise is dangerous. There is a reason you do not see these techniques in MMA. These two would no doubt dominate the vast majority of untrained people in an actual fight, but then also, not through some magic energy transfer jedi force push, but because of their overall physical fitness and strength, wich is obviously just miles and miles ahead of your "average joe".

For the uninitiated like myself, what do you call this method/practice and how would I go about learning it? Thank you 🙏
@quangtru1311
@quangtru1311 Год назад
In Taiji we call it "Fa Jin" or just "jin/jing" for short. From my own shallow experience much of it comes from the way you tranfer momentum from feet to legs to torso into arms and then hands. It appears there is little to no movement, but there is internal movement working uo through the body. Like those desktop marbles where on marble comes down and all the middle ones are still but the marble on the other side pops out from the momentum transferred through them. 🙏🏼

I have practiced generating energy from my Dan Tien with Yi Jin Jing for many years and it allows me to heal quickly from injury or sickness and increase my speed tremendously. How can this power be more intensely felt?

Qi gong can be a great way to relax. Try some meditation even for 5 minds, keeping the body and mind still can go a long way in helping you feel at ease. Love and light 💚🙏

When you keep arms stretched you are ‘hard’ and therefore easy to manipulate. When you are ‘soft’ you can ‘lead” the energy to somewhere else.

It is real. Of course for video have to help a bit, because some smaller movements are not visible. I know that feeling when you just fly away or your training partner is flying or stepping even he doesn't want to :D.

Is the energy concentrated in one part of the body or is it in all parts of the body equaly to defend oneself from an attacker?

I have been on the end of it and done it. So simple. Just stand then get a very stick partner. Easy. No magic. The last one is very simple as most turn the arms then triangulate the power and step and break the center then they go. East peasy after serious training.

The potential spiritual energy that lays dormant in my center of mass is transformed into kinetic energy through the forces of practice. Therefore, we work for Nirvana, that blessed state of heavenly calm obtained by expiation.

Saudações calorosas do Brasil! Always nice to see them and more when there's a demo involved. When you discharge your energy on the counterattack you need to recover quickly, considering that in a real attack or confrontation and your opponent is unable to assess your weak point. Could you tell us if it is possible to obtain the direction of energy without touching the opponent? Fanciful to think of such a possibility? Warm greetings from Brazil!

This occurs in a very specific situation and not in a real combat situation on the street, for example. It is very important to differentiate the situations! Be very careful with the generalizations! ✌️
