I have seen Kung Fu performances in Henan, China. These Shaolin Monks are amazing. It was a jaw dropping moment to see them in person. I couldn't believe what I saw back then. They were incredible. It was amazing! A dream came to me when I saw them performing live in person in front of me. I couldn't ask for more.
Very beautiful movement. These are essentially not-very-advanced yoga postures, that can be seen at any mid-level Ashtanga Mysore-style practice, mixed with some gymnastic dance moves as much as anything.
That form is not a combat system, just for health and body skills, so ignorant people talks about kung fu sucks cause they don't understand the holistic traning of this art... This is just a part of the shaolin methods, kung fu is like university, modern martial arts is like a technical school... Effectivity depends of the student, no matter the dicipline, bless people!

All martial arts are good. Don't compare with mma cause they have rules & regulation when fight on the ring. Even those mma fighters are good. The only not good are those people's saying negative on other martial arts.
MMA is concerned with using various martial arts as application in combat sports...Shaolin or any traditional form is concerned not only with combat but also Humility, enlightenment, respect and compassion...it has physical,mental and spiritual aspects... they cannot be compared... its not only about decimating your opponent ...its a way of life.
So fluid like and graceful..... seems like a serpent is dancing, still you can see the control the monk have. I'm just humbled looking at Shaolin's 1500 year old style of kung fu. Just mesmerizing!

PrinceTrophy my waist is not straight like most other people. It comes from birth. They did many physical and orthopedic treatments when i was baby. I can do cross leg sitting but not comfortably.
That's why most of Chinese kungfu only sees in the stage. Not in the arena. To fight. If only Bruce Lee is still alive maybe. Chinese martial arts would be number 1 inside the ring/octagon.
After watching this i understand how close Indian yogic culture to Chinese Kung fu culture.... i hope we all will understand the significance of this one day....

Bodhi Darma was an Indian monk invited to be an Abbot in Shaolin temple over 1,500 years ago. Although Shaolin back then had their own things, Bodhi Darma introduced many things there that such as Yoga, martial arts and etc.
