thankyou so much ! i watched all three of the videos on shapes of molecules , it really helped me to understand it properly ! i have my F321 exam in a couple of weeks so i plan to watch more of your videos before then :)
I can work out the bond pairs and lone pairs for most molecular ions, but I struggle on some such as the sulfate ion. Is it because it has double bonds?
i dont really understand how to name the shapes once the molecular ion/ lone pair is involved (ie how we know its called square planar) , is there a list of names to follow or learn? thanks! great video
If you check out the previous videos he goes through the names of the different shapes and how to work them out. Your exam board should also release a list of the names they want you to learn, as I believe it is slightly different for each atom.
