Jerry is such a musical treasure. The joy in his voice and on his face is remarkable. What a great guy! So glad I got to meet him.

the Buzz Band was a great album..i first met John back in high school in the early 80s..as a kid i used to go to montrose street where steve and ronnie marlows house was to watch AXEL practice...and years later got to play with him a few times..he was like a big brother to all musicians in north bay..he was a true friend and a great inspiration to anyone who wanted to play an instrument..just a hugh hole in all our hearts....and Jerry i would love the chance to spend an hour with you to chew some tunes..god bless you

This guy was a total badass on the drums. Loved everything I've heard him do from Maskmakhan onward. Rock on, Jerry!

My goodness, that was inspiring. Thank you Aldo, and Jerry. I saw Trevor Payne and The Triangle years ago. Jerry had a green light shining directly down on him during his solo, and I think they had a strobe going too. Great musicality, and chops too. Thank you!

Thank you for the comment. It is true that Jerry and April Wine did not achieve the status they deserved in the music world …It is always a mystery ..they were lime Canada’s Rolling Stones …we are so fortunate to have had them create great music…and Jerry is one of a kind !

Every summer, growing up in PEI, April Wine would come to town to play. I never missed a concert (Stand Back, Whole worlds, First Glance) … as a young drummer, couldn’t wait to see Jerry and his solo! Those old “Fibes” drums, “Milestone”, “Sonor” kits got killed every night. Thank you Jerry for all you did during those years … fantastic player and one of the best ever … 😊

Thanks for this Jerry. You are one of the greats. I still remember 3 or 4 high school dances featuring you on drums back in the 60s and early 70s. It's great to feel your positive spirit again.

Unfortunately Jerry never got the recognition he deserved. As far drum skills this guy is right up there with Neil Peart and Jon Bonham, that's how talented he was. Never understood why April Wine never made it to at least the same level as RUSH, They were just as good or better.

I remember all the April Wine shows I have seen. Focus was usually on Myles and the three guitar attack. I was focused on Jerry and the most incredible drumming I have ever seen. He was a beast.

I saw his Drum solo he did with April Wine in Jacksonville, FL. in 1981 it was incredibly good. I remember it always to this day. Scott at Big J Report
