What an absolutely WONDERFUL initiative. Bringing the everyday struggles of new parents out into the open is the best way to address the issue and find working solutions in my opinion. These nurses may think they are not changing the world (as mentioned by one) but even if they change the world of one family, one child, that is more than most will do in their lifetime. As a retired midwife, having worked with health visitors throughout my career, I'm so pleased the Princess of Wales is highlighting their very important role.

How grateful to the healthcare workers. They’re wonderful people just out there doing amazing job. I love that Kate listens to their story and ask questions because it shows that she really cares. Great job to the Health Visitors. Newborns need all the help one can obtain in their early years. This type of care really sets the newborns up for life, because they react to their parents' reactions...be it good or bad. 😊

I had a wonderful french health visitor Pat, who saved my sanity as a new mum and enabled me to trust my instincts and enjoy being a new mum. By the time I had my second five years later, it was heartbreaking to see the workload stress she was under due to lack of staff. Our last "meeting" was when we bumped into each other in the town - she apologised for not being able to catch up with me properly and signed me off as we sat on a street bench. She told me she trusted me enough to get in touch if I was unsure of anything. I have every belief that her early support was the foundation for my utter and enduring joy at being a mum. Two decades later Pat's good sense, kindness and fun is still very much with me.

I wish I had this support with my health visitor, mine was terrible and I was so glad she left. My anxiety disappeared once she did and I am glad to see what their supposed to be about. Well done ladies ❤

I can see how this service would be particularly helpful to young parents who may not have the family or community to guide them along the path. And, as Catherine is so aware, a lot of the challenges are mental and can be helped significantly by a kind helping hand to talk to.

Wonderful film, and it is fantastic that the focus was on experts and families, with the Princess of Wales using her position to facilitate with humility and kindness.

My youngest child is 27 years old, so I'm not familiar with what services are currently offered here in the states for families with new born babies, but I can see how having health visitors is a necessity, especially at this time. For many different reasons, families are living further apart, so that very needed support is not always there. This will help create a much better outcome for the future of our mental health.

As a first time mum at 36 living in a foreign country with no family close, I started a play group in my neighbourhood with other mums I saw who looked like their kids were about the same age.. now 24 yrs later and 3 out of the 6 kids from that play group are still in touch with my daughter (different country’s now) and 2 of the 3 have come to stay in the last year.. and I’m still good friends with 4 of the 6 ladies all this time later. I had no idea about kids, I needed those women to raise my kids, there’s more information given about setting up a tv than about parenting when you’re expecting. Of course the literature is out there but when a babies screaming and you don’t know why and it’s at least $200 to walk through a drs door (in US), a support crew is EVERYTHING!!

I love the amazing effort of everyone involved ❤❤❤ Thank you Princess of Wales, we need this for our future generation. Build a child that strong, happy, calm, physical and mindset thats what we need 💙💙💙💙💙

We have this here in Canada too. Its so important especially for first time Mums and Dads. The home nurses help with so much but even more important is they listen and show compassion. They are also often the first referal to specialists at the childrens hospital.

Having worked with health visitors over the years I have seen the complex families they are helping. I’m so pleased things have improved over the years. My own SIL had a torrid time with her HV 35 years ago, telling her she would remove baby if she didn’t buck up. She was struggling with physical health issues and I believe some post baby blues at the time, and this didn’t help the situation. She was doing fine (I was a nurse at this time and kept an eye on her myself).

The Princess of Wales is outstanding in her strategic long term blueprint to creating healthier families and mentally strong children. These initiatives impact not just families but marriages and the education system

I am glad that the royal family is opening up and showing the world their importance to the world and their people.

The support given by these Healthcare workers to the family plays such a vital role in early childhood development. It's common for a new parent to experience anxiety or fear, and to have this support would be invaluable. Princess Catherine is campaigning for a very important cause. She has such a beautiful soul and one can tell she genuinely cares about this initiative.

I wish their was more training for Health care visitors when it comes to domestic abuse. I suffered worse due to her lack of undering standing. My HCV put me in serious danger and made the abuse I suffered worse
