This clip captures pretty much everything I love about Inside the NBA. Also, for all that these guys playfully rib each other, it was rather sweet when Shaq talked about looking up to Charles Barkley as an 18 year-old.
I worked with Nick Anderson for ten years with the Magic(04-13) and he is the most down to earth player, good dude and I’m glad shaq mentioned him. Those 4 free throws were rough.
I love Nick and have nothing but respect for him. I could feel his pain after those free throws. Never for a second held it against him. I felt bad watching one of my favorite players go through that. I could only imagine that it must have done to him. Never once thought anything bad of him or thought the Magic should git rid of him. I just wanted him to bounce back. He was so much fun to watch play. I hope he is doing well today.
Orlando Magic is finally retiring their first number, which is Shaq’s #32 number. We are all excited to see this finally happening and he will get a lot of recognition for his tribute to the team that drafted him. Congratulations Shaq Diesel!!!
@@LuciferLonseraphit was a 6th man number retired!!!! Shaq will be the first Magic player to retire his number. Dwight Howard might be the next player to retire with the team as well.
Always loved Shaq but not the teams he's played on until he became a Celtic. I wish he could have won one with them. Congrats! This is a long time overdue and justifiably the only pick for the 1st retired number by the Magic.
Really? he played 4 seasons in Orlando, 0 Championships but had a scoring title and a Finals appearance. If that get you a jersey retirement its a sad reflection on the Magic Organisation. Retiring a jersey should be for the best of the best and multiple championships. Yes he was a colossus and totally dominated by 4 seasons? no way
Look go look at some of these players who have retired numbers elsewhere, T-Mac can get his retired there, Bruce Bowen got a retired number. Brad Davis for the Mavs number is retired, his career average is 8 ppg
@@rockafeller3734 he did go to the playoffs with the Magic but didn't make it far I feel like T-mac is deserved he was a killer with the Magic t-mac played elite ball with the Magic especially in 02 when they made the playoffs that was a horrid team had good players but mac carried them they had grant hill shawn kemp even tho they didn't do much they even had pat burke lol but t-mac could be
@@suspect2k tmac never passed the first round. He basicaly had great regular seasons but in the playoffs he just kept losing his whole career. He was a good player for the magic but he didnt do anything for them if you ask the youth what team tmac play for they probaly gonna say houston and not even know about the magic tbh.
At 8 years old i got into B-Ball because of Shaq and was a huge Magic fan....B-Ball was the only sport I never had a fav team, when Shaq got traded.....I got traded.
THE BEST NBA PRE-GAME and POST GAME analysts/entertainers of ALL TIME! Watching these guys a couple nights a week is better than watching most NBA games.
I am from Melbourne Florida you are welcome in central Florida any day most powerful center eva always love the uncontested three I was watching on sunshine network congrats big dawg
Shaw's a role model for everyone! The man was raised right. His parents gave him a solid foundation of who he is; and he was able to use that to achieve his dreams. Throughout it all, neither he, nor his parents ever forgot that God gave them their gifts.
Heard Rupa something of jigijigi gang was on the “Special VIP” list of “kannagis” who enlisted for rescue by these kings. She is/was a HUGE “FAN” of the shaq king it seems!
This is pretty random but it just occurred to me as far as remembering his name there are very few athletes who we hear a single name and recognize immediately...... Jordan, Lebron, Magic, and Shaq is definitely one of those names. As a fan this is as about as long overdue as Orlando finally having a decent season. Congratulations big man much deserved! 🎉🎉🎉
The guy at the beginning of the video is the main reason the Magic have been well below average for the better part of the last two decades. If you know you know…
As a lifelong Orlando resident of over 30 years I can say that everyone here loves Shaq. DeVos didnt want to pay Shaq. We could have had a decade of titles but the "old man" did not pay him. Simple and we all know it. Not like its the only pro sports team we have... Amway is a scam. LOL
Lol, Orlando did this to themselves. They lowballed Shaq with a disgusting number during contract extension. Lakers gave him the big bag, and the rest is no brainer.
People give lebron hate but this dude got swept 4 times in Orlando, won nothing there, and they're retiring his jersey. lol. Dude had a healthy Penny Hardaway too.
Lol people saying he doesnt deserve it must not have been around then. He was an iconic player who put an expansion team on the map right away, beat jordan in his comeback season and made it to the finals in just 3 years. If you lived to see these times, u would know its deserved and honestly, way too late.
I saw it and still don’t think he deserves it. That’s why the NBA is a joke. Anyone good can get into the HOF. Anyone good can get their jersey retired even if they didn’t win rings. Miami retired jordan and Russell’s jersey even though they never played a minute for the franchise Shaq jersey being retired for the lakers and heat, I get. The Orlando magic? Nah.
I honestly do not understand why we're honoring this guy. He never shows any acknowledgement towards the Magic players or franchise.. even recently when they asked him who are the best young nba players in the league, he mentioned all of these young kats EXCEPT for guys like Paolo Banchero, who is a future superstar...
