99% of people calling ShaqFu one of the worst games of all time have never even played it. It's an average game at worst. It's a classic example of people jumping on the internet bandwagon.

The original Shaq Fu shouldn't even be in the top 100 worst fighting games. There are so many fighting games worse than Shaq Fu to the point they are not even playable. I can easily name 80 or so games like Shadow War Of Succession. However, if it came to just fighters on the Nintendo or Sega systems, then yes.... It would be in the top 50 worst. So odd they wanted to go with a brawler instead of a fighting game for the second Shaq Fu. A shame too.

Yeah I think that’s what it was 😂.. Since we had Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat … Killer Instinct… amazing fighting games revolutionizing the Fighting Game genre at the time .. you couldn’t compare it to Shaq-Fu cause then I’d look like a huge disaster 😂 I had that game when I was a kid and I actually enjoyed it … since I was picking up Street Fighter and MK and KI trying to beat up every fighting game I could get my hands on 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

There was a story going on that the people on indiegogo who backed this game didn't even get all of their perks that they pledge for. For example some of the people who pledge the voiceover tier didn't even get their voices heard in the game or even got their name credits in the game. Pretty scummy.

If we're being generous, we could see that as arising from an over promising marketing team disconnected from a small development team that bit off more than they can chew. Is it a bland looking game, yes? Does it look like it took quite a bit of work. Also yes.

15:50-16:05 has a little hiccup, a repeated line about the inclusion of Obama in the DLC. Great video otherwise though, I wouldn't want to play this game so having a overview was interesting enough for me.

The original had a horrible delay when you hit a button. It's playable but the delay is crazy. At first I thought my controller was broken when I was a kid 🤣

The sequel is really boring, but what really makes it awful is the feeling of missed potential. The animated cutscenes are pretty good, as is the music, and the concept could work. But there are just so many boring elements: the in-game art style, aesthetics, the environments, the hit detection, lack of modes, the overall gameplay... it feels cheap, underwhelming, and sad. It felt good deleting it. In retrospect, I'd rather replay the original. The sequel feels like a sham-- a fake.

I had Shaq-Fu for the Genisis many moons ago. My brothers and I enjoyed it. I feel like dunking on the original kept the legend alive. So the reboot was mocked in to existence 🙃

Shaq fu was one of the first games to not have the move set with the booklet that comes with the game, made it harder to play not knowing the moves

Most of the hate for Shaq Fu comes from seppos who either only played the SNES version or developed their opinion of the game (which they never played) via AVGN and the wannabe AVGNs. It wasn't a bad game, but too complicated for it's own good when there where much more enticing fighters to pick up and play.

Great stuff, THGM, mad respect. Imo, Shaq Fu 2 is the brother-game to Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back, just as forgettable, bland and pointless, and another game in a series no one asked for. But still. Everyone's most hated game is someone else's favorite.

I don't hate the original Shaq-Fu. My only complaint is that the fighter's movesets and how to execute them weren't available in the game manual. Both Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat had them.

I liked this game. Got quite a few chuckles from the corny humor, and yeah you get only maybe 3-4 hours of playtime but I've played shorter 20 dollar games.

I actually liked this game it wasn't that bad. It's a crowd funded retro beat em up of course the gameplay isn't going to be that innovative what did you expect. The anime scenes were a cool add on but the music was wack. I wish they could of added more dlc missions to it and expanded on the story.

Should have done a modern remake/expansion of the first game. They could have marketed it as "Hey the first game sucked, but we FINALLY MADE IT AWESOME!" Add some more characters, tighten the gameplay/movelists, use nice graphics with large sprites. People would buy it on a lark, but if it was good (maybe online battling?) word of mouth would have taken care of the rest. Fighting game community is always thirsting for something new.

I finished this game, deleted it, and never looked back. Waste of $5 since I got it on sale. I do like Shaq though. The 1 feature I wanted was the ability to upgrade the character, but no.
