The AppliedAICourse attempts to teach students/course-participants some of the core ideas in machine learning, data-science and AI that would help the participants go from a real world business problem to a first cut, working and deployable AI solution to the problem. Our primary focus is to help participants build real world AI solutions using the skills they learn in this course.
This course will focus on practical knowledge more than mathematical or theoretical rigor. That doesn't mean that we would water down the content. We will try and balance the theory and practice while giving more preference to the practical and applied aspects of AI as the course name suggests. Through the course, we will work on 20+ case studies of real world AI problems and datasets to help students grasp the practical details of building AI solutions. For each idea/algorithm in AI, we would provide examples to provide the intuition and show how the idea to used in the real world.

Guys, just do not fall for Data Science unless you are not good at coding. Everyone promise to teach coding in there course to a non coding student. But the reality is they can't help you in building logics.. Suppose I teach you ABCD.. and then ask you to write essay. Applied ai is really good but only if you know how to code. Else your time and money will be wasted. This girl had non coding jobs but remember she is CS graduate so logic building is what she can learning easily.

We also provide additional help and assistance to those who are lacking in programming via optional assignments and additional help in solving those assignments. We have had many success stories of non-CS background students who picked up everything from programming to state of the art and deep learning through our course. Please also check those videos on our RU-vid channel. We completely agree that knowledge of programming will surely help you pick data science faster. That’s the reason why we cover even the foundations of programming and solve tons of programming problems via course videos and live sessions. By the way, the ability to build the logical thinking behind coding can be taught by solving incrementally harder problems and teaching how to approach those problems as we have done in our course videos and live sessions. Whatever we teach, the student also has to put in the effort to build that skill via our assignments. That’s why we ask students to put in at least 12 to 15 hours of effort a week on our course.

If you can showcase a portfolio of projects in your resume with a GitHub profile and a blog, apply online via internship portals and you stand a good chance. Make sure your profile has at least one NLP problem and one CV problem. The better the projects, the greater will be your chances of getting an interview call.

I will be joining mtech in old iit .....this year how should I make use of college to get good placement in ML and AI do you suggest joining course still coursework at iit's is hard .... can you make video on it @appliedai

Do well in your coursework related to ML courses. It is also important to be good at DS and Algo as most companies that come to IITs for placements will have 1-2 rounds of that also. Make sure to do multiple projects in your MTech in the first year itself to build a good portfolio of projects. We have many students from IITs and IISc who join our course to learn the applied aspects of ML and to build good portfolios which are often not covered well in university courses.

Most companies that we have worked with struggle to fill data science roles as they don’t find good candidates. If you have the right skills, there is no dearth of roles in most job roles, including data science.

We have covered the key DSA as part of the course wherever we needed them. We cover time and space complexity, key DS like binary trees, graphs and dictionaries. We also cover dynamic programming in our course videos, live sessions and assignments. At the end of our course, you will have the skills to crack DSA rounds for Data scientist roles. For some students, based on their request, we share additional DSA practice problems.

Please work on good end to end case studies and build a strong portfolio of projects on Github. Try and write good technical blogs explaining your case studies or projects. This will help you stand out from the crowd and also help you to be taken seriously by recruiters.

Yes, you will have to build on top of your prior experience and leverage your new skills in machine learning. Lot of service-based companies and product start-ups would pay very handsomely for somebody with your experience and who has good machine learning skills. Surely, the expectations in terms of depth and technical maturity from someone with your experience would be more. But we cover everything needed to build that depth and rigour in our course.

Yes, some startups let you intern with them and work for 20 hours a week especially during the weekend. This is not very common, but possible.
