Thank you, I make the videos because I want to show what is possible nowadays with 3D printing and give my opinion on what I think of the models. We have been flying in our family for over 60 years, and the hobby just won't let us go 😉

@@printpilot3d wicked! how’s the performance from the motor? Easy hovers? Yes 3d printed planes have come a long way now

Torque roll is no problem with the drive if you do not print too heavy

How is the durability of this new LW-PLA print method? I printed the test part in LW-PLA and it seems much stronger.

The P5 is very good in my eyes. You just have to know what to use it for. It is also more robust in the sun, if you stick to light colours of course.

Your shard turned out really nice! What printer do you use? do you mind if you share the settings that you used on Cura? I've just bought the files and am eager to start.
@printpilot3d
@printpilot3d 2 года назад
Look in the video description, there are always the printers I used for the model and which filament. Printer profiles are also stored in the FB group. But you will still have to make fine adjustments in Cura for your printer.

@@printpilot3d are you also using the recommended electric motor? in the Instructions, it says This motorization is very powerful and optimized for 3d maneuvers, The Shard is not full throttle safe with it. Is it True? do you use full throttle with yours?
@printpilot3d
@printpilot3d 2 года назад
Now full throttle safe means that you should not fly with full throttle downwards, or at higher speed you should jerk the rudder fully. But these are also specifications that are made for other models for 3D flight, because you need the power for vertical figures, you have to be able to fly overpowered in order to torque, for example. In the video I went to the limit to see if everything holds. Of course I can't guarantee that it will hold with others, it depends on how you print. My description says the motor I use and that should also be the one in the instructions. I printed with Esun LW at 245 degrees. And it still holds 😉.

Only small parts in PLA+, everything else with LW. You can look at the building instructions for free or download them from PlanePrint, where you can see everything better.

Do one get the STL files from planeprint? Do one need something else than cfk stäbe?
@printpilot3d

Best even than the Notos?
@printpilot3d
@printpilot3d 2 года назад
I thought the question would come😉. The Notos is an F3A aircraft. The Shard is more stable, heavier, faster. It's probably a matter of taste. The Shard is best suited for more extreme, faster figures. But torquerolling and hovering can be done well. It was also my first day on the course. There is a lot of room for improvement, you can tell. I wanted to test the stability beforehand.

Notos is for slow precise aerobatics, the Shard is for romping 3D and having fun 😉
