For those of you that don’t know who Stephen Kerr was, he was a Saline Schools art teacher spent many years here at Heritage teaching kids in the same room you spend time learning about art. Throughout my time here in Saline I learned a great deal from Stephen. We spent a lot of time both in and out of school talking about art, discovering art, seeing art, enjoying art. I feel it is very important to carry on his legacy and joy for art. This painting that you’ve been walking by every day since the beginning of the school year was created by Tallahassee, Florida artist, Debo Groover and it was purchased by the Ann Arbor Art Fair Council as a way to honor Mr. Kerr.
