I love your reviews, thanks! I bought this one a week ago. Nightmare!!! I loved the bagless. I loved the no hair brush. The self-empty is awesome. The Vacuum get stuck on one piece thread rolled around the brush, and it would not move one step. The vaccume get one Lil piece of paper in the suction hole, holds the door open, and that happened four times. AI: just marketing it doesn't go around objects at all. It hit 4 water bottles and dragged them everywhere. It doesn't tell you on the map where is it at. You can't build no go as just a line. You can't schedule cleaning more than once a day. I Have loved my IHOME Nova Vac I guess that was the name. I don't recommend the mop on it tho. Thank you. Hope my comment help some of you guys.
@@taamox Correct, one more thing, if you kicked by mistake or your dog pushed it away of the dock even an inch it doesn't go back to the dock by itself.
I'm always kind of amazed at the claimed capacity of these auto-empty bins. 60 days? We run our Roomba every single day and that bin would maybe hold a week's worth of debris at best.
I've got an i8+ (Costco i7) I've had mine for a year, it runs nearly everyday. I've changed the bag once, three people in the house and one cat I could get about 4-5 days out of a 980 before the bin full sensor would trigger.
@@FantomLightning Yeah was about to say. I have had my Roomba s9+ for soon to be 2 years and I have changed the bag twice. Though I run mine 1-2 times a week but then there would be more dust buildup so... I always wonder where they get those low numbers from.
What kind of home do you have that gets THAT messy? I change my bag every 60 days or then some. I also run it every day and have pets. Seems crazy that a bag that big would get full that fast.
@@CannabisTechLife If you live out in the country/farm, like I do, I would guarantee that your home would get that messy. We have workers tracking in our house all day in their work boots that only stand on the mats at the entries to ask for items and also a labrador, a long haired Birman, a Siamese and 2 tabbies. We have a country dirty road that leads to our house so dust is always at the ready. I just bought this vac and haven't unboxed it yet so can't comment on how often it will need dumping BUT my current robovac, Neato runs for about 3 hours on the bottom floor alone, twice a day and requires emptying after each run. I wouldn't be so hasty to judge people on their living habits "THAT messy?" tsk tsk play nice
@@acatismansbestfriend5719 I live on a farm too. 3 dogs (1 shedding heeler), four indoor cats, 7 guinea pigs and a 25lb rabbit all indoors. Along with a kiddo and myself tracking in dirt etc. I just purchased this 🤞 it works well enough I am not having to vacuum and mop daily
Sorry for the crazy publishing schedule the last couple of weeks. Next week we hope to be back on track publishing a video every Friday at 4pm est. Happy Thanksgiving!
Hey Chris Could you please share your thoughts about the blackfriday deals going on for vacuum? I am in market for buying new vacuum. It will be helpful for many like me.
I keep hoping one day a robo vac manufacturer will pick up the gauntlet and give us a model with wall vac specifically for pet owners. Our old Roomba is about 6 years old. Her name is Hazel. She is dumb as they come and a double fisted wall banger too boot. but she works her little heart out year after year for us. The problem is we have a Corgi, and 1 Corgi shedding is about the equivalent of any ten other dogs. We run her 7 days a week, and sometimes twice a day. She will run for 15 minutes and she’s full. Although she is very efficient and will continue to pack hair like she was bailing hay in a field. But every 15 she needs dumped to be efficient. Nothing short of a 5hp wet/dry vacuum is going to pull that hair free (current design) from her belly. I’ve got my fingers crossed and wallet ready somebody can offer our family a solution. Btw, ty for doing what you do. And long live mighty little Hazel❤️❤️
Just purchased the roomba S9+ and the braava jet m6 mop which are on sale at the moment in uk. can't wait to test them. it will be my first robot vacuum! thanks for all your videos and advices
My biggest grip with any Robot Vacuum I have owned is the Hair Tangles (Wife and Daughter with long hair). This includes Eufy, Deebot N79, Shark IQ, and Roborock S6Max V. Do you think there is a Best Robot Vacuum in this category?
2:33 I have the Shark IQ Robot Vacuum and these vacuums don't empty EVERY 30 mins, it only empties after the FIRST 30 mins. So the Evacuate and Resume feature is only for the first 30 minutes.
Same app functionality. Only app differences would be regarding the lidar sensor. So I don't see a reason why they would empty every 30 mins on one but not the other... I think he made a mistake in the video.
I would love it if you could review the Midea M7 Pro I bought it on sale for 160 euros and it has lidar, mop function and all the usual premium app features like virtual walls, no go/mop zones, mapping with editable room names and spot cleaning etc. I don't know what the battery specs are, but it doesn't even get to less than 70% after 30 minutes.
You keep saying the low battery life isn't a big deal but I bought the Deebot N8 Pro+ after watching your review and it takes all day to clean my upstairs. It starts at 7:30am and finishes at 10:30pm. It's insane! For comparison, my old Neato D7 would start at 7:30am and finish around 11am. The navigation of the D7 was much much more efficient.
I’ve had mine for about a month and it’s been working out very well. I’ve only had it get hung up twice but after rearranging a few items it hasn’t occurred again. I did replace the two rotary brushes with a three prong brush which was a markable improvement in cleaning time. About the only complaint I have is the app it does get hung up and it will log you out multiple times, I’d like to know where the vacuum is.
Отличные пылесосы Anker,с гиронавигацией понравился Robovac G30.Отлично работает,не шумный,сильный,есть влажная уборка,с приложением очень удобно управлять. Классная помощь от него.
Love your channel!!! Any chance you can do a video on air purifiers??? Thanks to you I discovered shark complete seal!!! And would love to here what you have to say about air purifiers!!!
I've had this vacuum for about 10 days now, and it's pretty good. However, I'm not a fan of the app, I've also had to restart it because it glitched out. It also has terrible obstacle avoidance, which I thought was the selling point. Well, I found a Roomba J7+ for 50 bucks more from Canadian Tire, at $850 Canadian. So tomorrow the shark is getting packed up and getting traded in.
@@chipmiller3155 I did get the j7+, for me it was only 100 to upgrade at Canadian Tire. The obstacle avoidance, the app, as well as having a bag make it all worth it. I didn't thing having a bag would be necessary, but I have kids. I tell this thing to vac up soggy berries, wet spaghetti, you know, real world things and the bag helps keep it clean!
torn between this and the ecovacs n8 pro+ so similar price right now but the bagless option of the shark is really,.... I feel like bagless is really important for long term use. Those bag costs really add up
@@VacuumWars Yes. also watched the vaccum wars top 5 best robot vaccums video. Which is why I'm considering the ecovacs. These videos are strangely entertaining especially when you are shopping for black friday. I think I might go for the shark. Bagless is crucial for me as picturing 3 years on how much am I going to spend on vaccum bags and practically speaking it would be much less of a pain just to empty out the bin rather than buying and putting in new bags
HI, I NEED YOUR HELP AHAH! I HAVE SPENT THE LAST DAYS WATCHING EVERY VIDEOS OF VACUUM ROBOTS (OBVIOUSLY YOURS ARE THE BEST). After a lot of research and watching your video of the best vacuum robots, I am now undecided between the Roborock S7+ and the Ecovacs N8+. I have noticed that before switching to the S7 you had an N8+ and I was wondering if after a month of using the S7 you have any regrets. Do you really think is better? Or you have switched back to the N8+? The only feature that trigger me is the cable recognition that looks like it doesn't work too well in the roborock. Let me know please I am desperate hahaha. I am 25years old and loving this videos... that's when you know you are getting older ahaha. (The roomba J7 is not taken into consideration because it doesn't have a mopping pad). Also, but this is personal, I think the N8 looks much better than the S7, but in a video it looked like the quality of materials of the N8 was much inferior to the ones of the S7. Thank you for your advice!!
Thanks for the video. Shark documentation is terrible, so your insights help a lot. A question about cleaning the robot: instructions say to turn the power off, but the only power switch is on the base. I turned it off, then the robot started up, moved away from the base, and stopped. Does that mean it's "off"?
I didn't see this model in your comparison last month. Sorry if I missed it. Where would you place this in your comparison video. Does it make the top 3? Thanks
Hi, I have watched so many of your videos! Can you please tell me if you recommend this Shark AI vacuum over the Shark IQ AV1002? I can't really tell which you think is better overall. Thank you!
Hi, can you please inclosed how robo vaccumes, specially ones with LiDar handle mirrors (mirrored doors on wardrobes) and Glass windows. My EcoVac is absolutely trash with it comes to floor to celling windows. It just screws up the map and requires a reset.
@@MrBlueCreeper I just picked one up but couldn't find any videos on it. Hasn't mapped my house out yet I'm beginning to wonder if that's even a possibility with this robot. It's decent for the 150 I paid for it.
I'm here to look for a robot vac that isn't trained to go immedately to any computer/phone chargers or shoelaces that might be barely touching the floor!
We have had 2 of them. The first one was great, until it stopped working and kept saying it was on a cliff when it was on a flat floor, then just completely gave out. Well, after an hour with customer service, they finally admitted it was beyond repair. They sent me a Brand new one and i received it in two weeks. Now, the new one will not pair. It will not connect to WiFi. No matter what we do. We made sure the house WiFi was at 2.4 and we restarted the phone, the modem and the shark. Called customer service and we still cannont connect. Go with another brand.
I have to shark iq robot vacuum I just got off the phone with Shark and they told me the shark IQ robot and shark ai that is kind of the same thing only difference is different features the laser and no boundary strips I love the shark iq no problem So they told me it’s about the same thing Different features
Can you please advise me a robot vacuum for hardwood floors, have a huge event space, with hardwood floors, and couple of rugs. So it should mainly clean dust and human hair, maybe a bit of debris. Not sure if mopping is a big thing, since I’m sceptical how it could mop 2500SQF. Thou object avoidance is very important, since I have curtains on the floor. Any advice is appreciated.
Shark vacuums are junk. I have the model in this video. Mine broke in 3 months and they refuse to honor the warranty because I unscrewed a single screw that held on a side brush. They said that voided the warranty.
Can you do a video comparing the Shark RV2502AEW to the iRobot j7+? Or if you have already link me to it, I can't find it. I have a shark now but it's a RV1001AE and I think it's time to upgrade.
80 minutes on low? Big yikes... The Lydsto self empty robot I got for $230 the last time it was on sale can run for about 80 minutes on high power and still have about 40% battery life left. It also mops, the app is better than this Shark, and they both have the same lack of parts availability so they're pretty evenly matched. I don't see a point to these crappy Sharks anymore when there are better and cheaper self empty bots.
@@valkh83 Hey, it is no longer on sale, it sold out but it was during the Walmart Plus days which they had running for a few days. I was able to snag it the day I posted that comment 7 days ago for 298. Hopefully it goes on sale again
Problem with bagless robot vacuums is that when you empty it, you are instantly spreading the dust into the air. With bags, it won't contaminate the air as much, assuming you don't play with the bag that is.
hopefully bagless becomes the new standard....I'm sure there are advantages to bag base systems, but the continual cost for a such tiny little bin isn't worth it in my opinion. And I'm not the only one as I've seen many try to invent their own bagless modifications, or resealable bags.
I've had both bag and Bagless. It's touted as a mess free feature that seals the bag off when you lift it from the bin, it's dust free. But I'd rather shake it out and deal with a lil dust, than 50 bucks for 5 bags which it goes through all too quickly.
Still rocking S5, thanks to your guides. Needed portable handheld vac, and already knew where to look for guidance. Just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for your work 👍
I would love to see more info on how well the robots find their way back to base, say wit the base partly occluded, as well as how well they avoid getting stuck under furniture, say a long couch where one end of the couch is elevated creating a triangular cavity where the robot could jam it's way in.
You reviews are one of my favorite as it is consistent with testing. The home robot vacuum technology has moved into 3D scanner, self mop washing for a long time already and now the latest mop cleaning and auto empty bin in one.
i have this shark and it is pretty dumb. It will run over papers or anything you leave on the ground non stop so annoying. I agree the app could be better you can only make nogo zones so small and rooms. I also have a roborock i believe is much better from app to clean.
I really like all my shark products. I know they don’t always have the best reviews, but I genuinely like the way they work for me and my big family. I just got a shark robot vac from Costco, so will be a while before upgrading, but I love the bagless option of these.
Thank you so much for this video. I was able to get one for roughly $300 due to catching a sale thanks to you. I am stunned with it. Excellent review as always
@@VacuumWars VacuumWars can you maybe review the Nannyvac robot vacuum cleaner range, because I don’t know what to buy and there are new Nannyvac robot vacuum cleaners coming out in 2022. So can you please make review videos about the Nannyvac range!!!
I have had this same model for one week now. It has been great with pet hair and dirt, my two dogs leave on the floors. So far the Shark has logged 15 hours for the week, and saved me 8 hours of vacuuming floors myself. I have emptied the base twice now and cleaned the foam filter once.
The hair test is the main one I am after. Auto empty with a full bin of your 2 weeks of hair is the holy grail of robots vacuums. I have cats that LOVE their toys so I need to clean up the house before using a robot, so only get to vacuum once a week. By that time each room is a full bin of cat hair. Would be perfect if it can do 1 room, empty, then another, empty etc all without ever failing
We own the previous shark xl self empty and it cleans super well but our one complaint is it ALWAYS gets lost. And the zoning is worthless since it can’t accurately figure out where it is. With the new Lidar upgrade I think this will be a great contender in the self empty vacuum world. Last thing on my wish list for this is a full bin sensor so it doesn’t get too stuffed preventing it from self emptying (we have multiple cats, lots of hair). But as long as we run it every day it never really gets clogged.
I also have the previous shark xl. While you're right, it cleans super well, the lack of accurate location is my only complaint. That makes it very difficult to tell it to clean a specific room most of the time (it ends up just doing everything), and sometimes it skirts the entire perimeter of the house trying to get back. I would love to try this new version out, but after already spending a couple hundred on the first one, it will probably be a while.
I got the shark AI and 8f I could say I got it from the link I would but I didn't and am waiting for it to arrive and will say how gooditisonce I have had it fore a few days.
Ok so I was thinking of a few in depth comments I'd like to make concerning these mop vacuums and a few other observations. 1st after watching more than it seems like 5 hrs of these mop/vac robots I'm not buying. Dreametech, Ecovacs, Roborock, Shark, Irobot, Eufy and many many more. They all seem like crap to me. Each and everyone has some major flaws. And I think the manufacturer's are to blame. They are keeping it that way so everyone can charge 10xs more than what products worth. When there is a clear winner everyone will have to buy causing law of supply and demand to force prices down. Sort of like our corrupt pharm industry. Until a generic is forced by our gov't. I really want a mop vacuum. And I must thank these vids for wasting my time. Because on one of them that puts products on different tiers told me that one Shark vac I was considering from an infomercial that seemed too good to be true. Is! Even its most advanced vac, I see demonstrated does horrible in corners, and is crap on carpet. I can also see with variances on features, speeds, as well as all other bells and whistles, or lack there of. Like having to manually do this or that. Or having to buy 2 robots one mop and one vac. Not one mop/vac meets standards I want and need. In fact the company dumbed down it's 8 pro version to make you want more rather than giving the consumer what they want. So what's lesson here? None it's all a waste of time. What makes me go out and buy a product? Flawless or close to reviews. I don't want to have to replace every couple of years. For this Cyber Monday I bought a 65 in tv from Samsung. Samsung S90C Series 4K QD OLED TV .It is Consumer Reports top rated at 87 out of 100. But no I don't trust CR as half of what they rate the public hates. So that's where youtube and net come in. To see if anyone comes to a consensus on what's best. The top 3 contenders were SONY worth top quality and price. But some chinese guy said about how it will be perfect when a bug fix comes out. But will it or will SONY force you to buy next tv? And mid priced tier LG and Samsung. It was between Samsung S90C/95 series, LG G3, Sony Bravia XR A95L / or X95L Other than nit picking on the plugs on back, and wanting sound to be like a symphony, or live concert I could not find anything negative on tv I bought. I don't have it yet. But feel confident it won't dissapoint. With tvs, last one I bought in 2012 was an LG smart 50 inch tv, which I had zero complaints on. Except for the weird shaped boat like remote that would fall off everything and get sandwiched between the cushions of couch. That thing died on me in 2022 last Summer while I was watching it and falling asleep . It was 615pm and I heard a loud pop, and then it died. My mom died of covid-19 in Apr 2022, so while I was going past the old town where I once lived NW of NYC. I took my mom's 43 LG tv. I really don't like anything, but memory of mom. As I never changed the NYC tv line up for Boston here where I now live. In comparison. My old 50 in LG 2012 tv cost $1,100 + tax. It had 120 hz, and was great both in color, and for sports live action. Zero motion blur. Or any artificial effects. Mom's tv, I think maybe she paid $500 or less for. Is smart tv from 2018 I looked up. It has ok color, but blacks suck and many colors get washed out. Except for graphics on tv news for ex. Those look fine. The tv in higher colors looks unnatural. So mode I have it in looks like a color newspaper at best. My old 50 in LG smart tv had vibrant everything. I got dozens of comments on it how it looked like you were in the a movie theater. No joke. Story here was I was in BJ's warehouse in 2012. I couldn't find any tv of maybe 70 on display, that really popped with colors detail and stood out. Until I walked around corner and saw 2. This one for $1,100 and one for $2,500 in 2012. This one I said I want it today. And bought it. I got $200 back on tv. That paid for 8% NY State taxes, oh joy! One I replaced it for was 19 inch tv I bought in Canada for $100. Which was maybe $60 US because back in 1998. US currency was worth $1.60 CDN. or Canada $ was only worth 63 cents US. As long as you shopped where locals shopped, and avoided touristy areas. You didn't overpay in Canada. In touristy area everything was double priced. And banks and welcome areas jacked up fees and downgraded US dollar any chance they got to get even with USA on how they felt jipped by American currency back then. Not related I went to Canada to get lasik on my eyes. One time ever I can recall. I overpaid a little. As CDN $ was worth $1.07 US! I think its like 85 cents US now. On your eyes you don't want a coupon. You want best care you can get. Canada was leap years ahead of US on lasik correction surgery in 2007. And I lived 90 mins from Kingston Ontario at time. One last lesson about my now 2 yr old laptop. I bought as Black Friday deal got about $1500 off. Paid $3495 for I love it. It was the right choice I hope it lasts 10 yrs. Lenovo Legion 7 not AMD but Microsoft Intel gaming laptop top of line Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 laptop GPU graphics card. Paired with 11th gen Intel processor at 11980hk @3.3 Ghz speed, with cores up to 5.0 Ghz. And its a powerhouse to be reckoned with. Still 2 years later. That was best lap top money could buy in Dec of 2021. I even got a free 5 yr full extended warranty that's good til 2026. When I buy something I look for 10 or more yrs. Even if I pay top dollar. I want it to be something that lasts the test of time. So in concluding all these mop/vacs sadly are still junk before 2024. Will they finally release monopoly to make one people really want, or play games for next 5 yrs making record profits? I hope not later. As I want to not have to clean floors anymore. @vacuumwars Do you think this is the best option for a robot vac that resists pet hair tangles and won't constantly need to be taken apart to pull hair out of it? Thanks for all the reviews!
As you people continue to buy and let these killing machines into your home, remember you have been warned! How quickly you forget all the Robot Vacuum Wars we fought! Are you happy sending your kids out to the battlefield?
Thank you for your extremely helpful videos. Do you know what difference, if any, there is between this RV2501AE and the RV2502AEW that's on a Black Friday deal on Shark's website? I imagine it's very minor. I'm debating between getting one Shark RV2502AEW for my first floor (where the pets and my family spend the most time) or two less expensive ones from Eufy brand so one can work on each floor. I do like that the Shark self empties into a bin. I'm sure I'd have to empty the Eufy every single time they ran due to our cat fur, litter boxes, and child. Any opinion on which way to go? Thank you.
This thing is terrible compared to the d10 neato. Obviously the d10 Doesn’t have the self empty, but the shark picks up a very small fraction on carpet of what the d10 does. I’d rather empty the d10 everyday by hand vs continue using the shark. Barely picked up fine dog hair. The d10 has been amazing so far. Been a neato lover for over a decade and I’ve tried them all. The roombas have some major navigation software issues and the deebot suction issues are just that issues that make the self empty component useless.
I wish other company's would go bagless. These shark bagless robots are basically the best bagless ones you can get. And this one is particularly good especially since you can get one for 450 bucks right now and a good robotock is twice that and has bags...I want a easy robot. Not trade chores for chores. Also, shark makes good complete seal vacuums. Just saying.
Thanks for the Thanksgiving Eve surprise, Chris! Too bad the vacuum wasn't really AI. I've never had one, but it seems like a useful feature (assuming AI means obstacle avoidance). Does this Shark sound about the same as the original IQ? I liked that one because the noise wasn't too obtrusive - unlike the Roomba that moos like a cow and is also 'persistent' and pushy. And kind of dumb when compared to the Roborock. But no judgement here :-).
I just got this from Costco for $299. I saw you just reviewed the matrix and I just watched. Costco just added the matrix plus for $399. Do you think it’s vacuuming performance is worth the $100 difference? Mopping isn’t a concern as it’s a nice to have, but I’m more interested in the difference in vacuuming power, the matrix clean, and if the air blast corner is a gimmick and the brushes work fine in corners. What do you think?
Today i received this , but the model number is different , instead of 2501AE i received RV 2010AOUS... dont understand why is that?.. and i also saw in your video the model number is different 3:11
Just bought the Shark UR2500SR AI Ultra Robot Vacuum off woot! For $180 refurbished. Hope I will have good luck with it like I have with my other refurbished items from Woot!
Shark seems to be advertising this as "Hundreds less expensive than the iRobot j7+", which seems disingenuous if it doesn't actually have obstacle avoidance like the j7.
Great vacuum, Crappy app. Cant get it to connect to my WiFi even though we have several laptops, cell phones tv's and many other devices all connected. Rebooted router, shark and phone. It is a worthless app that does not work. They wont build a PC app so it was worthless. Took it back tp COSTCO for a refund. If I cant program it then its not worth anything to me.
