Dude. . . I just wanna say, out of all these dudes on RU-vid doing HAM stuff; you do more actual contacts and practical “use” of the radios and antennas than anyone else. You clearly know how to work a station, and it shows. So, I just wanna recognize that talking about gear and discussing specs is one thing, but actually getting on here and making contacts, DX, VHF, repeaters... it’s a whole different ball game and you do it well brother.

Update to my Shark 2m 5/8 wave. Eric thanks for the help. Shark sent me a new antenna it arrived within 4 days. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Just passed Tech and General…I used Ham Radio Prep…I think you were in the videos. The videos mad3 learning Tech a breeze…was harder to learn General…need your great videos for that material as well! Thanks!

I have had about 3 of the lower quality 2M mag mounts and they all have shown the rust and oxidation you describe here Eric. Off to Giga Parts I go to get the shark !

I picked this antenna up at HRO for $35 a couple months ago and it is definitely a talker. For the price you won't find any better quality.

It’s the exact antenna MFJ made. It was for 6 meter & 2 meter.

🤔 now i wonder, an antenna cannot be an 5/8 for multiple bands at once.. its only have the characteristic low angle of radiation on one band, and probably radiate in some weird pattern on the others?

Have you used this on 6 meter? If so, how was the performance. I am looking for a 6 meter antenna that I can use in an apartment that does not have a balcony. No such beast. So I am looking at mobile antennas that work on 6 meters.

I have this antenna on my truck. Doesn't move at 90 mph or 80 mph in rain and snow

Got mine today...NO INFO for 6mtrs. Have you tried it there and if so any suggestions on on lenghts... or who I can contact at shark for info. Don't wa t to start curing without documentation.. Paul K1YOU

Very disappointed with my Shark 2m 5/8 wave mag mount. I purchased 2 of them and in 6-7 months one of them rusted so badly that the magnet separated from the antenna and is no longer usable. It did work great prior to rusting. I regularly made 50-60 mile contacts while mobile.
