@@hamzasaeed918 it depends If they caught it from the wild I highly doubt it, then they should release If it was brought up in aquariums then it's fine
Definitely not built for narrow aquariums. If you watch how they swim they circle out but have nowhere else to go but the direction they just came and it's terrible. it's torture! they need to be able to swim : /
I was thinking this might be like a nursery tank for the little younger sharks, to keep them separate from the mature individuals, so they are not cannibalized
@@dgayle2348 No, they're just being tortured by the tiny tank. Imagine having a kid and their room is a tiny closet until they move out at 18 and get their own place because they hate you for obvious reasons.
@@dannycollins7773 thats a myth, you don’t actually need rounded tanks. A proper rectangle tank would suffice. This one is okay, but the shark would likely outgrow it within a few months.I daresay 10.000 galls is a min (based on personal experience)
@@travellinghobo At the very least a couple thousand, though I've not kept a blacktip (or any shark; I'll stick to my bettas and nano shrimp, thanks) and thus couldn't give you a proper minimum. 10K sounds like a safe bet though
Now imagine how much cooler it would be if you actually spent time making the aquarium look nice and chose a practical type of fish. Not only is this cruel, it looks like dogshit. Imagine the potential that huge tank has.
When I used to work at petstores, You'd get hick bozos like this all the time. Most never had a fish in their life and they want to buy a Piranha or shark or something stupid like that, just to show it off to their idiot friends to watch it kill other fish and nothing else. They would inevitably get bored with it after a few months and the animal would then get dumped or die in their "care".
Sharks do not adjust well to captive conditions. Stunted growth. Permanent damage to the development of the sharks themselves. The lateral line on the body pick up electrical stimuli. The bumping into the glass is a sign of distress btw. When they get bigger, it is a possibility that they may stop eating. I know there are harsh comments here. I'm coming from a slightly different standpoint. I've studied sharks as a hobby. Just an advocate for animals living a good full life. Please consider putting these two blacktips in an environment that benefit them in the long run.
Bruh the bottom of the tank looks like what a hamsters cage would look like I honestly think that aquarium would've been better as a freshwater planted with a schooling fish class
Owner: Drops freshwater catfish into saltwater shark tank. Catfish: Suffers in the burning saltwater only to be ripped in half and eaten alive by sharks Viewers: It’s so cruel how the sharks are being treated it’s abuse
Yeah I’m just not going for the idea that a shark is more deserving of our empathy they’re both fucking fish with less mentality capacity than a chicken. They’re all 🍱 food
This is a perfect example of someone who is not really capable of keeping animals like those sharks in a way they should be kept properly. This is the wrong size of the tank, the wrong shape, it seems that the keeper has no further experience in keeping large saltwater fish at all.
@MrMaplezfan Did you even read my comment? It doesn't take a biologist to know that black tipped reef sharks don't belong in a tank that small, genius.
That’s not an aquarium, that’s a fish tank and it’s too small for those sharks! Sharks have to move continuously in order to breathe. They will die in this tank!
Does it look like he cares? Seriously those sharks each grow larger than the tank they are in. If he can't get that right don't expect anything to be right. They are probably dead and tossed in the trash by now.
That's actually very cruel and unnatural. Sharks realistically don't belong in tanks especially one that size. Plus it is very unnatural for those sharks to feed like that and I'm assuming they just don't care about the fish. This video is truly horrible and I hope everyone is aware that this is the definition of humans being selfish and inhumane. This video doesn't serve a purpose for the animals and the only purpose it serves for people is entertainment. It's just a shame that entertainment to some people is harming other things. Super disappointing
The fist, I think it's just cause he's to little n he hides under em or, the sharks just need some other company guys. Now let's not be evil here. N the man may be just to buss to get to fixing up a bigger tank. Fuck America is some rude s.o.b's
I agree on the point about the aquarium, but sharks are naturally predators that primarily hunt live prey. Feeding them by means other than live feeding is ok, but live feeding isn't necessarily bad and if done right can be an enrichment for the animals.
And feeding them catfish to!! You do know that catfish spines will puncture a predators insides don't you?! The worst type of food for any predatory fish!
Sharks require round and super large aquariums. They swim in circles and that tank is way to small for those sharks. If you can’t afford to keep them in an appropriate aquarium don’t own them
So from your experience Is it ok to keep them in a similar aquarium just for feeding them until they grow up and then I can eat them? I thought that will be good and cool what do u think?
Omg this is straight animal abuse. Black tip reefs need a way bigger enclosure. More substrate. More fish. And more blacktop reef sharks so the 2 don’t over dominate eachother. And more height or they are gonna jump out and your gonna come to your sick home with dried up beautiful animals. But the height should come with a 200,000 gallon round enclosure they need custom built. Unless your Tony Stark do not get real sharks it’s a bad idea for someone who hasn’t been taking care of saltwater aquariums their whole life.
it's a tributary specimen which means they can tolerate it a little bit but only for so long before they have to return to fresh. they have been known to venture out into brackish water but they don't stay in it for very long. (some species do) there's brackish water plecos. there's a small black one I forget what it's called.
@@seheadhunter50 No? Lmao? This tank is no where near big enough for 1, let along 2. it's not a proper Grow Out Tank. It's too narrow for them to move around properly, and that gravel ain't helping. Rectangle tanks like this are super poor for open swimmers like Black Tip Reef Sharks. If you know the Owner / Are the Owner, tell them they're abusing these animals and they need to be moved to a bigger space.
Why the hell do people think it's ok to abuse fish and other aquarium animals? Just because it's not a dog or cat does not mean it's ok to stuff them in a small aquarium!
@@Ovukekat Yes, but live feeding is cruel and honestly shouldn't be done unless they absolutely have to. Most folks in the reptile hobby recognize that feeding mice/rats live to reptiles isn't ok unless they have a stubborn pet that refuses to eat frozen thawed . We can pre-kill our feeder fish too and limit their suffering.
I’ve owned several black tips among others over the years but I’ve never known anyone that would actually put that species of shark in a flat sided aquarium. If someone told me they new someone that did that I’d think they where just joking because of how widely known it is that you shouldn’t ever do that with any constant swimming fish witch is why they are always in a circular tank mine was a 5,000G cylinder with the reef decor and overflows in the middle of the tank made by living color enterprise…LLC…..most people no that 007 is just a movie he’s not a real guy lol.with a flat panel tank as a shark tank you can have shark like banded sharks nurse sharks you no the kinds that don’t have to constantly travel to move water threw there kills to live.before long those sharks will stark having darker color around there noses from growing wider then the tank and they will continually beat there faces into the glass trying to turn around stressing them out tell they eventually die.not exactly trying to be a jerk I’m being serious I’ve worked with fish and water all my life I breed fish I was the manager of the biggest aquarium store in the world and have done installations and maintenance on aquariums for many years.I don’t ever look for shark videos this was on accident but I’ve also never saw someone do that before in my life just saying maybe think about it.
A kiddy pool from Walmart would work better for these guys. You can't put two black tip reef sharks in any old tank just because you think it'd be cool to have em
@@MrGenedancingmachine bravo! Everyone, I believe I have found the next young savant! You have demonstrated bravery beyond what I believed was possible! We're all clapping for you! Yes! Good job! You make the human race look great and are extremely funny. In fact, so funny I might even laugh next time!
@@manumonti291 he doesn't plan on getting a bigger tank when they get bigger. He said he'll probably release them in the wild but how that's possible in Ohio beats me.
What in the black tip reef shark is going on here???? That's insane keeping sharks like that in a tank. Wouldnt be suprised if they break the glass soon lol
@Victor Torres incorrect but true-ish at the same time because if they don't outgrow, they get stunted, body stops growing but the internal body parts and organs growing, eventually killing the fish
Amazing animals thanks for the video however I do hope you decided to release them after awhile before they end up dying. But again beautiful animals. Despite the other remarks they looked healthy and happy though I know they won't live long in that tank.I enjoy observing that close but not at the cost of the animals life. Still thanks again for the video
I fully support having them in captivity but give them a bigger tank, man. If you’re going to own them, respect them enough to know that they need and deserve way more space than that. They’re not some cichlid or barracuda, they’re whole ass sharks. They need at least 5x the space in all dimensions. They have to constantly move to filter air through their gills. Having them just constantly swimming in a circle is a bit messed up
