A unboxing and review of the Shark AV2511AE robot vacuum. My first review on youtube! zachcantrelle@gmail.com Instagram @zachshoots_ Facebook Business Page : Zachshoots
I just got this too, its cleaning right next to me now. Thanks for video. By the way, your audio is hard to hear and understand, especially with music level while you’re talking.
I appreciate the feedback. This was my first video and I just did it quickly but I’ve already invested in a wireless mic and some new equipment for my next couple of reviews that I’m getting ready to film. Thank you. maybe check out my next one
I bought my AE2511 Shark on a deal at Amazon; and have had it for a week now. I had doubts and almost canceled the order until I saw this video. I am so glad; because now I wonder how I ever got along without this floor cleaning tool. Thanks for taking the time to review this machine. The videography and lighting is excellent, sharp and crisp.
Great video, I couldn’t find a review of it anywhere. It seems I made a good choice as a Christmas gift and for a steal of a price. Keep up the good work on the videos.
Good lord... The comments..😂. Spoken by someone who does not have children and probably yells at the neighbor kids to get off their lawn.. By any chance does anybody know if this particular model will work with the magnetic barrier strips? I've had trouble getting the no-go zones exactly where I'd like them on the app. Thanks!
@@zachdoesreviews Do you know how to get it to work with Alexa? I added it to my Alexa app but it won't vacuum on command. Not sure if I'm saying it correctly? Thanks
I bought this also. So far I like it. It’s good to know that the clearance requirement isn’t a hard rule. I didn’t realize till I was setting up that I don’t have much for available empty wall space.
Eufy L35/L30 is doing a a great job too. Has multi mapping features. Has a mop too. Was on sale around 300-400$. I bought that instead of shark because shark has bad reviews.
I was considering the Eufy product but I figured if the shark doesn’t function properly, I have 90 days to return it. I have owned and still own several ninja and shark products so I figured why not try their version of the robot vacuum. Appreciate the comment and view.
M, I was looking at the Eufy one too but decided to try the Shark instead because of 2 reasons; its bagless and no mop. Im one of those garbage conscious folk so producing less trash is always a higher priority. Plus now I won't have to buy vacuum bags. does anyone remember those? almost every upright vacuum now is bagless so im confused why robot vacs have mainly decided to go that route. im guessing its more of a business move to buy proprietary bags so I applaud Shark for not going that route (pun intended). We do love our Eufy wifi door locks and trust that brand. The mopping feature was, well, cool at first glance but then I thought about having to change it to mop mode, make sure it gets dried out afterwards so it doesn't get moldy or that wet towel smell, etc...and decided that maybe it would be too much of a hassle. Just get the daily light dirt and dog hairs well and we'll be happy. I do like that the Eufy supports multiple floor plans however, so thats a bummer that the Shark doesn't. Would have been nice to have been able to take it upstairs from time to time. Hopefully #sharkcleaning can update that soon since I'd guess its a software issue more than hardware. We just ordered ours from Walmart too! great deal at $300, imo. Looking forward to it!
Update: got it yesterday and tested it today after charging overnight. I’m actually impressed. And disgusted at how we’ve been unknowingly living with such dirty floors! It’s not super quiet but then again it’s a vacuum, how quiet can a vacuum be? It’s nowhere near loud dyson vacuum either tho. And it did a great job picking everything up, docking, mapping out the floor, etc. You can set quiet hours at night. Pros: inexpensive, bagless, picked up everything, auto docking and emptying. Cons: doesn’t support multiple floor plans, 3 month warranty doesn’t put much faith in lasting durability Overall I think we’re really going to enjoy it and can already tell we won’t have to do some serious vacuuming with the uprights any time soon! 2 thumbs up.
I got mine delivered today from Walmart. I have a question though, why does it come in cardboard and not gloss packaging? It makes me feel like it's refurbished. Looks just like yours with all the blue wrapping just seemed weird to me to to get that packaging. Stores have the glossy package.
I got this on the black Friday sale. It picks up dog hair beautifully, my own (long) hair gets stuck in the brush lol. Also, has anyone had a clicking noise with theirs? I was told it's the brush cleaning feature. Maybe too much hair haha
Yeah, I can say that was something that stuck out to me as well. I believe it is the dual roller brush, hitting some sort of plastic or something but all of the shark robot vacuums sound very similar.
Hi thank you so much for posting a review of this model I also purchased is at 50% off from Amazon. I fee like it is very loud compared to my other Shark someone else mentioned this too. But I guess I can get by that because the lidar feature really sets it apart from my old one
I swear we have the same exact model, but ours doesn’t have the little things sticking out of it! Ours has an error code that says there is hair underneath the circular logo, and we can’t figure out how to get it off!
It really should show empting the canister storage, and the sharks interal dust bin filter. How about pet hair, shake out the dogs blanky and have at it? Your house is CLEAN TO BEGIN WITH! Otherwise, this vid is good for first-timers!
The Shark Robot Vacuums have so many different models, but the main unit features are same. For Example, AV2511AE, AV2501S, UR2500SR are designed for exclusively design for Amazon and Costco, but the color or the size of self-empty base might be different.
Something cool I learned with mine- you can take off that plastic cover for the filter in the dust bin so it cleans the filter better when it self empties. I think it's supposed to protect the mesh from debris but it doesn't seem to make any difference and it helped the air flow a lot.
@@zachdoesreviews I’m pretty sure he’s talking about the staircase/waterfall pattern, but for wood pattern tile it’s actually not a bad pattern. Usually tiles of marble like patterns are done in 1/3 patterns. But yeah for wood the step pattern isn’t bad at all. This guy probably knows the basics of flooring and voiced his opinion with no feedback after you asked him to explain lol
Well the robot will always remember your WiFi unless you reset it. Pulling the plug out will disable to auto empty feature and the robot won’t be able to go back to the base unless it’s plugged in
This one was in my top picks this year, however I ended up going with the AI Ultra (RV2502AE) -- shark had a black Friday deal of $600 MSRP down to $320. I may have complained about slow shipping and I may have got them to take it down to just $200 😬 lol. When it arrives I plan on getting two more if it meets my expectations. Our house is three-story + a basement and I just can't be bothered to babysit a single RV and ferry it from floor to floor whenever I want the floors swept quickly. I do have a quick question for you tho: Once upon a time our vacuums used to live in closets, hidden away in the dark where they belong because let's face it they're not decor items. Now, our robot vacuums live along the walls of our homes, some more aesthetically pleasing than others, and tbh I think they're just kinda ugly and out of place. Does the idea of a small-medium cabinet of some sort that sits over the top of your robot vacuum appeal to you in any way? It'll have an opening for the robot to emerge from/return to, it'll sit in front of the wall outlet to hide any cord mess, have a flat surface on top so you can place a lamp/plant/etc on top (function), and a side door that would allow you to easily reach inside and remove the dust collection bin. I just want mine hidden, plus I think it's kinda cool lol and really I'm just wondering if anyone else feels a similar way about their robot vacuum. Thanks!
@@zachdoesreviews Hello! I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner, RU-vid didn't notify you replied! Thanks for your input -- most people seem to like the idea somewhat. Right now my goal is to start prototyping, if you're at all interested I can send you a message when (hopefully) I finally get something worked up. Again, sorry for my late reply and thanks again!
I agree. I don't really like the idea of the vacuum sitting out in the open. I was wondering if anybody else had this issue. I have watched several reviews and hadn't heard anyone else mention it. I wouldn't just leave an upright vacuum sitting out in the hallway. I was under the impression that they had to have several feet minimum space around them in order for the robo vac to be able to find the dock. I still plan on getting this vac.....now just to find a out of the way place to keep it.
@@GalenGiese because he is my son and I wanted him to be in the video if that’s a problem for you then I feel sorry for you. My channel is called dad‘s reviews because I am a dad and that is my son.
I have this exact one… mine seems extremely loud and clunky when it is running. I previously had two different sharks that weren’t as loud as this one…. I think it may be the lidar spinning?
