Thanks so much! My sister loves everything Sharks.. this is what she wanted for her 40th. It turned out GREAT. Patience is key in between baking and icing the cake. 🙌🏻
Hey..My son requested this cake for his birthday this 25th Dec..Tq for make this amazing cake.. I've been searching simple tutorial for this shark cake..❤️❤️❤️
Great video-my son loves sharks & I am looking to make this for him- About how long did you have to let the fondant teeth dry out before they were sturdy enough to be pushed in?
Thank you. At the carving stage now. Cake is very tall, so got lots to work with. Carving into shape makes me nervous though, first try at carving cake. I'll send you a pic. Thanks x
Thank you my nephew wants a shark cake now thanks to your video I feel alot more confident .on a side note love your mixing bowls where did you get them would to add them to my stash thanks again very informative.
That's so nice to hear! I hope you have a great time making it, I know I sure had a lot of fun🥰 as for the mixing bowls, they were gifted to me but I'm almost 100% positive they were from Amazon ☺️ Happy caking!
Hi!! I am going to try to make this cake soon. How far in advance can I make the teeth? How long does it take for the Tylose powder to make them firmer?
My son loves sharks and this is the best and simple tutorial I came across .Can I make this in advance ? Do I refrigerate it or freeze it for the next day party ? Do you also have the recipe for the buttercream ? Thank you
Thank you so much! You can definitely make it ahead of time! If it is only a day or two in advance the fridge is completely fine but I would store it in a box and keep it there till it reached room temperature once again, to prevent condensation from forming on your cake. Also here is the link to my easy American buttercream recipe (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kA5crjQ_yI4.html) Best of luck with your cake!🥰
Super Cute Cake. I am going to make it for my son this week - he is super excited. Can you tell me how tall it ends up being - roughly so I can get a cake box? Also could I make it a day to two ahead of time and keep in fridge? or just one day? thanks
Cake has a great shelf life when fully decorated, the frosting acts as an air tight seal and keeps the cake nice and moist so you can refrigerate it for a couple of day easily. You can even make sooner and freeze it as well if you like. Just be sure to leave it in the box when defrosting until it reaches room temp. The box will help keep condensation from forming on the cake. You'll wanna shoot for a box about 8" tall I'd say, just to give it a little breathing room. Best of luck! If you have any other questions I'm just a message away.
I made this cake tonight and I think I did well enough job lol the important thing is that it will be delicious, i did mix of chocolate and coffee cake with cookies and cream butter cream! It's for adult "kid" so coffee is not an issue:)
My soon to be 17 year old grandson has requested that I make him a shark cake for his birthday. I've watched your video a few times and I am going to try (August 15). I've ordered some of the tools you used. One question. Can I make my own buttercream or should I buy it? Thanks. Wish me luck! Lila
Definitely make it!! Here’s my recipe (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kA5crjQ_yI4.html) It super stable and easy to make and use! Best of luck with your cake and thanks for watching!!🥰
Hi, Robin thanks for sharing with us. I was hunting ideas for my twin grandsons who adore sharks. They are turning four. Because of your talent I may become the best grandma for my grandsons. I am nervous about cake craving pray for me. Deborah
I always make 3 batches at once to save time, but I think I had a bit left over so I’m gonna say at least 2 batches for sure. You can find the recipe to my easy buttercream here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kA5crjQ_yI4.html
I actually use white food color by Wilton. It’s great stuff! Its also great if you add a few drops to your frosting before you add whatever color you are using. It really makes the color pop!
@@TheRobynsNest thank you for replying. I think I’ve tried this before, but still struggle to get it really white. I do beat the butter for about 10 mins also. Maybe it’s the brand of butter I’m using?
A whipped frosting could work but you would not be able to use fondant for the teeth or the eyes, as it will make them dissolve. However, you could use chocolate or candy melts to make them instead
Thank you! It was really fun and pretty simple to make too! Hope you do a wonderful job and if you need any pointers, I’m just a message away… and I know exspecially isn’t a word, lol, I’m lucky I can string words together some days. I still get nervous when recording sometimes and the words come out all wrong, you’ll have to excuse me.
@@TheRobynsNest I do ha ha, I'm just being brat. I'm finishing the cake today! It's in the freezer right now, I'm worried about it being too fragile, I think I stacked the half layers too high when making the upper jaw...
