Something well put I just heard is "They use the same vocabulary as us, but they don't use the same dictionary." Their word game of redefinitions (woman, joy,...) and extreme euphemism (gender affirming) and the like is their most dangerous weapon, and is considered critical to their stated plans from the beginning. O'Leary is extremely bias. I have discarded his statements for a while. It is easy to verify by simple facts, look at New York or Massachusetts gdp growth compared to the national average. You will see that Massachusetts is one of the top states, and was #1 in 2023. FYI, Florida has also done very very well.

He is 100% right about CA - it's done. I work for a CA based business and live in TX. The regulation and policy are crippling. The employees are so angry at the businesses, but in reality, it's the government overreach crippling the businesses that are causing the pain for the employees. Sometimes, the employees have a real hard time connecting the dots.

I left California ten years ago when my employer, a Fortune 500 company, closed several of its larger facilities and paid the employees (the ones willing to relocate) for their moving expenses. That company still does business in CA on a customer/supplier basis, but all the support departments, marketing, engineering, development, customer service, et al, is all gone from California because of the state's hostility to business. About a year after I relocated, I saw where two other large corporations, one of them a carmaker, were leaving California and taking thousands of jobs elsewhere. And what's amazing is that the voters there keep voting for the same politicians.

Many of my coworkers relo'd to Arizona. I don't recall specifically if any went to blue states but there were a few who went to Nebraska, Idaho and Georgia.

Kevin is spot on! Massachusetts and Boston has been like this for decades. I moved from Texas to Boston for a new job back in the '80's. Everything was more expensive and nothing was better. I went to register my car and they wanted to tax me on the value of my car. It wasn't a new car, it was a ten year old car. I told them thank you and walked out. I figured if I needed to update it, if at all else fails I would just update the registration in Texas. Boston is a great place to visit but, you couldn't pay me to live there. People need to fight back!!

Yep, Canada's been that way for a long time. I live in southern Ontario, and driving to Buffalo during the weekends to go shopping because people can actually afford to go shopping there has been a thing for as long as I can remember. There's so much potential revenue Canadian businesses lose due to being overtaxed and overregulated to the point where they just cannot compete when they're within a few hours driving distance of the US. And that's Ontario vs New York, a state that is itself not at all business friendly. The New York Bureau of Business could use that for promotional purposes: "Do business in New York - at least it's not Canada!" 😋
