the first thing I thought when she made an offer, is that she never makes offers, has almost no history doing that. She's also a real estate person, heroffer seemed like it came out of left field
@@halfstep44 Statistically, Barbara is the most likely of all the sharks to close her deals, and stay closest to the original terms And that's why a lot of viewers tease her about always being out - because she does not bite off more than she can chew. She is far beyond a realtor. They also know how to make investments. Very skilled at marketing. Mark and Lori don't close on more than 2 out of 3 deals Barbara is far more inclined to keep her word - closes two out of three deals Daymond closes on the most deals after barbara, but it is said he changes the conditions of the deal more. Robert and Mr wonderful fall in between, closing about 38-45% of their deals Shark tank entrepreneurs know this by now. And maybe they did - as they didn't end up closing on the deal, perhaps came on to do an free infomercial and get exposure But I'm guessing Mark and Lori didn't settle for 6%, tried changing the terms of the deal and it didn't go I saw an update August 2023 stating the business expanded, there in canada, all over the place but the bottom line is: They've done $2.1 million in sales since it was founded in 2020
Ahaha well not always, when the entrepreneur walks away with his deal as the last one on the table he often tells them what a horrible mistake they've made or that they're dead to him 😂 But that's Mr. Wonderful
That guy was extremely impressive when it came to knowing his numbers. I’d venture to say one of the big toy companies will buy this company in the near future
I imagine it is every entrepreneur's goal to even get close to being on shark tank. Then from there I can't even understand the excitement of getting one offer. However I also cannot imagine how stressful it is once that one offer turns to four offers and they're all telling you to make a decision right then and they're throwing money at you. It must be amazing but it must be so stressful
Not really. You need to understand one thing - this guy is trying to gimmick sell his bag of "popcorn flour" for $11.00 US per 0.36 KG of flour, when a 10kg bag of flour is worth $20.00~ US. Nobody in their right mind is investing in that.
@@joshz3788 I think you are the one misunderstanding. Its not supposed to replace normal all purpose flour it's supposed to be an addition to the people who care about health/can afford it. Healthy flour isn't a gimmick just because you think it is.
@@kajlir5802 It's a gimmick because they can't sell it without offering it as a "Pancake Mix". That's a gimmick to sell the product. Don't get all in your feelings about it.
Tbf tho, if you wanna call mark and Lori Harvard and MIT, then you gotta call the others Cornell, brown, etc. They all have that brand, even if it’s not to the level of mark cuban
The tread on the tires once the rubber is on them will still wear out. Unless it’s some kind of super rubber as well, you will have to replace these just as often. Yes, no flat tires is good, but it doesn’t outweigh the cost of these things to begin with.
That’s what I was thinking. Unless you can get something like a trade in rebate. Maybe something like how they do propane tanks, you buy the gas and the tank the first time, then trade the empty for a full and get the reduced price since it’s just gas. If they could somehow melt the old rubber off and replace it, while maintaining the integrity and strength of the wire cage, so you are essentially just buying the rubber and manufacturing cost as opposed to the entire wire cage again, I could see it working. That would reduce multiple purchases at such premium prices.
I was confused (but admittedly kinda interested) about this product, so I checked their website and they said it’s re-tradable. I don’t remember whether or not they said how much it would cost though.
And they screwed themselves. Barbara closes 2 out of 3 deals. Both Mark and Lori close less than 1 out of 3. The deal did not close. Last August it was reported they've had $2.1 million in sales since they were founded in 2020. No Mark & Lori. They probably claim the other side backed out - but I doubted either one of them was going to do that splitting 6%. This is crocheting? Why would Mark get involved with knitting? Lori & Mark change or renege on most of the deals they make on tv. And that's well-established by now - so perhaps they were just looking for exposure.
The Smart Tire Company - Kevin Hart's reason for being out was well-explained. Great potential but I believe you should have one person always ready to present the business blueprint clearly and concisely.
They're inventors, not entrepreneurs and that's why they went to shark tank, looking for business help I think that was actually bad advice to go to an established tire company. Because they're not going to want a product that people don't have to buy again - they like disposable tires. We've been through this This is another airless tire. But this one is lighter & fuel efficient, they made The mousetrap better about every 12-15 years, there comes out a new tire that doesn't go flat, better than what we have - and they never go. Look up the Phoebus cartel - an international group of light bulb manufacturers that were around 100+ years ago regulating light bulb lifespans They conspired together to ensure bulbs didn't last too long so they would be disposable, people would have to buy them numerous times. And I laugh because over the last two POTUS administrations, the light bulb issue has come up yet again ! That's not new. That tells me - the Phoebus cartel is alive and well! And there's a lot of businesses like it . There are a lot more cartels going on then we know So they'd be better off trying to form a niche market, the major tire companies don't own the internet. If they start getting successful with it, they may buy the patent. Or buy them out. But their technology would have to get big enough to be a threat. And it could, I've been shocked at what people spend on bicycles - more than my vehicle! If somehow this tire design gets into the tour de france, Olympics or something similar? Then you're cooking with 🥓! With or without sharks they would get these big tire manufacturers' attention. I read as of late that they are partners with hyundai, nasa, some other bicycle Company, and working with a couple of universities with the research & development. And as I suspected, a lot of interest is coming from europe, Canada overseas. They'll be selling bicycle tire sets spring 2024, Bringing a shark on board may have been helpful, yet they're not innovators - they are opportunists by nature. All they need is one famous bicyclist to pick up on their technology. And they need to test it mass market first. They already have 10,000 sets on pre-sale orders, the retail product is supposed to come out this spring I wish them the best of luck. Price isn't the barrier, $150 for a set of airless fuel efficient bicycle tires is not outrageous. Even if it's $100 per tire. Bicycle tires and tubes are not cheap in cost. But the quality often is Bicycle breakdowns are serious - even AAA towing offers bicycle service if you break down! I'm a penny pincher, don't shop Walfarts, still use a 1911 victrola & wouldn't buy 99.99 % of these products on shark tank. Yet I'd consider this & would like to see how this one does.
Oh what comes around goes around - Mark and Lori never closed the deal with the Wooblely people It's well known, Barbara closest two out of three deals she makes on camera. Mark and Lori clothes on less than one out of three deals they make on TV The show has been on over a decade, seems like one of these Shark tank reaction shows or experts might catch on to that by now.
I started off thinking Mark came off as a very greedy arrogant rich person. But as I watch I’m realizing that he just has a very strict set of morals that he doesn’t waver from. Probably not someone I would want to be friends with, but a respectable business man
Is no one going to mention about the fact that many of us have had a full life on tires while getting no flats but losing all tread? Lol This is hilarious to me on the fact that they are promoting it not being possible to get a flat however you can still lose all your tread… haha Then what your plan after buying you 4x mark up with your flawless tire. So much to say however I will leave this here. From your fellow car enthusiasts. :)
You hit it on the head. I couldn’t believe non of the sharks brought that up. I am not concerned with flats. I would be intrigued by a tire that could significantly extend tread life. I think that would be a better selling point. You pay a premium; but only have to replace as often. Besides tire manufacturers already make tires that are more resistant to punctures.
If there car tires actually go for $700 I think they'd have a chance. There are current tires that already cost more than that and if you can't get a flat some ppl may bite on that. The prices for the bike tires is absurd tho
@@joshgseyi oh my bad I didn't watch that whole pitch.... 🥲 I only clicked on the video for schwimmer and when i couldn't find him I didn't watch the whole thing oops 😅
Cyclists in mass aren’t going to pay that premium for an airless tire because the rubber/tread still wears out. Maybe a handful of long distance tourers but not much else
That pancake guy had (apparently) an amazing product but other then a lil gymnast act and Ross from friends, he had absolutely NOTHING. I feel like he was compensating so hard with the beginning stuff. The sharks hit the main points tho. Only thing i didnt entirely agree with is Kevin should have offered 140k for like 30% at least and then say hes going to focus on building a social media presence and establishing the company. But not having any social media presence is so bunk from him
Yeah that pitch was so bad lol, would have been 10x better if they just started with Ross and spend as little time as possible with Ross and move onto the product. The thing with the wife dancing/gymnastics was made even weirder by the fact that she didn't stay and talk about the company after, which made it feel even more out of place
Out of Mr. Wonderful, Barbara and Lauri who do you think have pulled their offers the most if the entrepreneurs didn't take it immediately? I think it's been Barbara so it was fun to watch karma take a bite out of the shark in the first clip.
A big question the tire guys never answered and the sharks didn’t ask was since rubber needed to be fitted to the car tyres, then they wear out and need to be replaced, does the entire tyre need to be replaced or the outer rubber shell and if so how much? Done get me wrong, 800 a tyre is crazy expensive but if you never have to replace it then long term it may be worth it, especially if you put it on higher end cars. But generally, there’s a reason why space tech material generally stay out of commercial use and that’s it’s cost
Ok, THIS was interesting.😂🎉 but it’s also cool to see they all laugh it off at the end (the drama is just for the show) cuz it’s not personal. It’s fun and business.
