Hi Moe, Our new EvoPEX fittings may be used with any PEX tubing that complies with standard ASTM F876. If your PEX complies with this standard, you will see ASTM F876 printed on the outside of the tubing. Most of Uponor’s PEX complies with this standard but please check the outside of the tubing to confirm. Please note: Our EvoPEX fittings are warranted for 25 years when used with SharkBite PEX tubing and 5 years when used with another manufacturer’s PEX tubing. SO EVO PEX IS PERMANENT AND TWICE AS EXPENSIVE THAN THE BRASS VERSIONS ALL FOR HAVING SOME COOL GREEN TAB TO SHOW YOU IT'S CONNECTED PROPERLY HMM.. I'LL STICK TO ORIGINAL AND PEX CRIMPS

The evo pex was a half the cost at Home Depot compared to the brass fittings.

In my experience the evopex don't work properly and leak even with the indicator. In my opinion the evopex are horrible...

Yeah just looked today. Evopex stuff was more expensive that the bass Sharbite Max fittings. I'll keep using Max fittings for the moment. They should make Evopex removable also.

In short, Geoff-Yes, PEX is the difference. EvoPEX is a PEX-only solution, while Brass is compatible with 5 different pipe types. A lot of pros are getting ahead of the industry by using EvoPEX, you can see their stories here: bit.ly/2GcJTyh.

Rats! You ignored the one thing everyone wants to know! The large reduction in flow with evopex! If you don’t explain whether this is a problem or not, others will do it for you. Based on the info I’ve found, I’d never choose evopex
