OMG, thank you so much, Sharm and Barthélémy! This blend of metal has such a unique vibe-it almost feels like there might be a mix of gothic and folk influences with some intriguing semi-tonal melodies. I'm not entirely sure, but it’s incredibly refreshing to hear a style that stands out like this. Fantastic work! Could you share more about the inspirations or influences behind the song? I’d love to understand it better!
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! My SirWolf seal of approval ❤ Regarding the song, we had a couples of idea regarding what we wanted to do. Turned out I completely refused the assignement and came back 2h30 later with a draft of the instrumental, but Sharm liked it immediately. Regarding the creative process, I wanted to start with how I finished "The Voice", so I took back this oriental vibe with the Phrygian Dominant scale, plus the addition of the sitar. Then I switched back to natural minor scale to bring the epicness: I wanted something huge, so I took the choirs, the low guitars, the fast drumming... I won't say that Gojira's performance at the Olympics did not inspire me 😛 But I wanted something very metal, more metal than I usually do, and way more epic. The final result didn't disappoint. I will let sharm answer for the vocal lines, for I did not create anything (except for the throat singing part she asked me to do, and I must say, having my voice used brilliantly as an instrument is awesome!)
Thanks Wolfie! I like to think I was sort of singing in tongues for this! Each part of the cinematic and music gave off a different vibe to mould the vocalisations ^^
@Sharm I LOVE your music and love what you make it about (or a lot of it) And hope you continue And maybe struggle other music makers like Gigi and others but please please please keep making
We wanted to write something to go with this cinematic in the first place. In the end, we had a very cool instrumental and it was decided no English lyrics were needed, but the music was totally based on our feelings regarding the cinematic from The War Within. The connection to the game is made through every aspect of the song :)
@@brelshar4968 I would like to respectfully disagree. Blizzard has been creating those kinds of trailers for several expansions now.... For Shadowlands (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nrGPaVUMBl4.html) and Dragonflight (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Pj3MGAlcfyo.html), the same process was used: to show a bit of the places of the coming expansion, some characters, and bad guys. It's totally connected to WoW. Shows nothing *important*, yes I agree, but still connected to the game.
