@@aqualee543 She had bile duct/pancreatic cancer, for a while it was in remission for a couple of years but it came back and she succumbed to it in 2016.
She passed like a comet in this world... so much energy, talent, and contagious joy on stage cannot be ever forgotten... what a voice and performance... Oh, It's wonderful! God bless you, Sharon...
My best moment in music was at a Sharon Jones concert in Toronto. She pulled me up on stage like Courtney Cox and Springsteen and we danced. True story, will never forget.

Ala James Brown: Gooooood Gaaaaawwwd!!!! One of the biggest thrills of my life was seehearing her and this legendary band band at the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee during their heyday soon after the release of "I Learned the Hard Way." The amazing backup singers, the bongos, the fabulous horns and guitarists, the precision drumming, the camera work, Sharon's shoes off preaching, the sweat, the repeating chills and goosebumps ........ Absolute funky soul perfection.
I really like this JB's way to do s concert. It's not like going there and merely play some songs, cause my stereo can do it too. No, there's a whole multimedia experience, theater, dance, there's a lot of tradition here too. That's not merely music execution, this is Art made live! It's another level of doing these things.
First saw SJDK in a tiny venue in Manchester (UK) back in 2002 in front of about 50 or so people & then again 2 days later in Leeds in where Sharon had laryngitis and kept going off stage every few songs to drink hot water, lemon & honey. She still smashed it. I was then lucky enough to see them numerous other times through the years at every increasing sizes of venue & she (& the band) were superb every time & always took time to mingle with fans afterwards. It makes me genuinely sad to remember that she's no longer with us & my signed copy of "Got a Thing in my Mind" still takes pride of place in my record collection!!

This concert couldn't have been recorded in March of 2010, as Solomon Burke passed away only on 10 October 2010, and she explicitly mentions his death. I belive the correct show date is 21 October 2010 as stated on the WDR website. Nevertheless, this is an amazing perfomance by a legendary artist and a great band!
