Urban R&B funk sound blowing our mind at its release. Still remains very innovative in 2022. Sharon was an empress. Tribute to the DJ who played it on the radio
This came out right when I first started as a DJ. It holds a special place in my heart and my all time favorite Disco song is In The Name of Love by her...I had the opportunity to go to a sound check at Probe in L.A. The DJ Stewart Barkal asked if I wanted to come so of course I did...Stewart told her how much I liked an updated version of Love Insurance (which is, what I believe Sharon's first Disco single...it was done as Front Page ft Sharon Redd...while doing sound check...Stuart put on the Hi-NRG version instrumental and she started singing it, the whole song.. She sang Love Insurance to the instrumental of the Kru-Kutz Hi NRG version. I couldn't believe she did that for me...she was so nice and sounded exactly the same live as the recording...RIP. You're A Winner.
Who remembers turning on the Loudness button on your car cassette player when this tune came on and cranking up the volume as you rolled down the windows to share it with the world? Great days
Go Sharon great track and fantastic to mix to ❤❤ rip Sharon Redd miss your music man passed away too early as many of the class singers did for me kids have no clue today
Stopping at Umberto's on state street to get a fresh outfit then down to Arrowsmith's, to get some stomps then going to ronnie's steak house. Then get home, to get fresh and put on the Fahrenheit or tge Carolina Herrera cologne now I'm ready for the weekend club scene in Chicago back in the 80s was life.

Old school music was and still is the best school music, you learn to appreciate the message in the music while you enjoy it.new school can't even comprehend what good music is or sound like.✌
The lyrics Beat the Street were very good for the young people back in the 80s and it should last through 2099 saying that the young people want to be in the streets committing crimes all the time in Chicago and across the United States.
just read about this tune in a book. "Let the music play - How RnB fell in love with 80s Synths" by Steven Vass. There was a section about Eric Matthew. Recommended!
Reminds me of when I was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky between 1985 and 1987 and I use to listen to this on F.M. 92.1 WKQI "Hendersonville, Nashville's Power 92!"
@@DerrickLanders-nt3tgIt was played on a Hendersonville,TN radio station of Nashville’s Metro area “WKQI 92.1 F.M.; Nashville’s Power 92!” We could pick it up from Ft. Campbell, KY. It’s only about 55 miles away from the Post and also, some of Ft. Campbell is in Tennessee.
I am 1,00% old school from the 70s,80s,and 90s when music was music and you go out to nightclubs, dance and have fun WITHOUT having to fear or worry about getting robbed and or shit like we have to do in today's generation WHICH IS VERY SAD....
