Does anyone else every so often tear up a little with the over whelming feeling of nostalgia whilst reading comments from 10 years ago with these old classics playing as you read them and just think how truly phenomenal TWD is? Best show ever, been watching since day 1!
Fun fact for those who don't get the newsletter (you should sign up!) Sharon's hair and makeup in this video were left over from her national tv debut on Jimmy Fallon the night before
@@chewy99.that’s why it’s an interesting fact. And probably saved herself a fortune having it professionally done for her video even if it was for/from the night before. Smart.
I discovered this song when I was 15 (I'll be 20 soon) in the worst moment of my life, no friends, no social life, nothing pleased me, I listened to seventeen a few years later and Sharon is one of my many favorite alternative artists, this song struck me brings back many memories😭❤️
This song from The Walking Dead Season 4 - Episode 4, fits the ending of that episode exceptionally well. It would be hard to find another song that fits as well or better! Period!
This brings me back so much ''You step outside, you risk your life. Take a drink of water, and you risk your life and nowadays you breathe and you risk your life. Every moment now, you don't have a choice. The only thing you can choose is what you're risking it for.''
I still remember the first time I heard this song. It was a brush with genius - the powerful vocals and lyrics, the minor chords, frenetic strumming, the wailing solo in the background, the drumming. Gothic and dark song by a talented artist.
I was reluctant to watch this because I love this song so much and already had the imagery in my head that matched the lyrics so well, I didn’t want to ruin it. This video is perfect, its nearly parallel to what lived in my head when I listened. The raw emotion you exude on Tramp is unmatched. Brava Sharon & Naomi!!
I imagined her in jail and sitting the whole time lol probably because this song played when Rick’s group was at the prison in the walking dead when this song was on the show.
One of the most beautiful, heartbreaking, interesting, confusing, empowering and magical songs ever produced. So many layers of the emotion spectrum mixed into an audio recording that also so happens to be one of my favourite songs ever. I always turn to this song.
This is nice. Like a visit from an old friend, along with a visit from the person I was when I first started listening to SVE. Also? 2012?? Holy shit. That was the year everyone said the world would end. Some people say it probably did. We've come a loooooong way. There's still such a long way to go.
I got to experience this song thanks to the tv series The Maid. Awesome voice, music and it gives me the feeling that i can get over things in the end. Whatever you are fighting for, fight for it. Ps:you should the tv series The Maid, it is amazing!
So wonderful to see a time capsule like this. I could sense you didn't quite know what to do with your hands. You've come a long way since then as a performer. Thanks for releasing this!
Why didn't you release this??? Why? I would have loved to have seen this back when I discovered this song in 2013. She was so pretty and seeing this at the time would have been a great experience : (
Can't believe this song has been part of my driving playlist for more than 10 years. It's not a big playlist, but only the ones that are worth listening over and over are kept there. And I never get tired of them. Thank you, looking forward to add more songs from you!
It’s so cool SVE released the belated video of Serpents! This is my favourite track from her. I first saw her play in Brighton at St George‘s church and it was an amazing gig…. Success has now bought her to larger venues.
This song is so aggressive with love and hate but mostly internal hate not blaming someone else but themself and this video shows that even more. Love it love it love ❤️
There is only love here for you Sweetest Sharon. I am so inspired by your way of being. You have this way of helping me to feel connected to myself and others in a wholesome and genuinely understood way with your venerable and compassionate to the soul music and even the words in between songs, sometimes especially those. What you do and share with everyone IS the joyful treasure of an experience you feel in your heart when you see of a rainbow or hold your loved ones after feeling all of life's contrasting rains and winds. Thank you for every little thing that YOU do and for all that you have been through angel. Thank you for your sparkling radiant hope and light energy. ✨✨✨
I have always loved just about every song you have created, Sharon. Been to quite a few of your live shows in La La land too...before all the 2020 paradigm shift restrictions that is. I would have been happy to see/hear you sing this straight at the 🎥 without the blinking lights and snake imagery. To be fair, I am admitting, I do not care for snakes of any kind serpentine entities, but nevertheless I WA a hoping the artistic direction would align and resonate with the quality of your music and the quality of your bravery for singing straight into the camera your pain and passion. This doesn't affect my appreciation for your song, but since the song isn't new...rather just the video...I simply am giving you my honest feedback of what I thought of the video itself. Sometimes music videos enhance the art...other times they minimize it. This one just splashed a neutral black and white blink in time for me.
Lyrics It was a close call Sitting in the back of the room With a bowl you had owned But they didn't know Close in on my black eye I feel safe at times Certain emblems Tell me it's time Serpents in my mind Looking for your crimes Everything changes I don't want mine to this time You enjoy sucking on dreams So I will fall asleep with someone other than you I had a thought you would take me seriously And listen on Serpents in my mind I am searching for your crimes Everything changes In time You'll stay frozen in time Collaging girls Controlling minds You hold the mirror well To everybody else Serpents in my mind Trying to forgive your crimes Everyone changes in time I hope he changes this time
