At 5:57 Very remarkable, an explosion on the ground killed or disabled the French horseman while his horse kept on running uninjured. Must have been the grandfather of the "Bouncing Betty".
Its entertaining but Christ its ridiculous! I love watching the appalling riding and horsemanship and the fight scenes. The old sabre cut to the back and a kick in the arse is fatal every time Old Sharpie is an absolute legend 'tho!!!
Well the BBC of the time couldn't even keep Dr Who going and that was mostly tinfoil and rock quarries lol. I'm not sure how they afforded all the extras at all.
Sharpe would have done well to remember that Jane was Simmerson's niece, and as shown later in the series that apple did /not/ fall far from the same tree at all. The only reason she was with Sharpe [her knowing of his money was later] was his hatred of Simmerson - the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Anyone else notice the smoke at 4:11? and at other times by the grave? He can't have a cigar, impossible to light with only 1 hand. Maybe its a grenade with a massive fuse :P
