Never heard of this spinoff show Sharpe, but I always loved watching “le sharpe” with my dad growing up so I had to give this a watch. “Le Sharpe vs Ze Werewulf” was always a particular favourite
Honestly, after watching that one Sharpe episode that starts out as pretty normal but then does a hard pivot into "Aztec-cultist guerillas performing human sacrifices" and "trippy cave fight", this might as well just be part of the Sharpe tv-series canon.
That Aztec thing was so insane I had to google it to make sure you weren't messing with me. I can't believe that’s a real episode. (Sharpes Gold for anyone in the future who wants to google it)
I thought I was crazy when I saw it! Pretty new to turnip28, so I thought I was just making things up in my head, and that it was just similar. Glad to see someone (sort of) confirm it!
Unironically the closest literary analog to a French Sharpe would actually be the infamous Brigadier Etienne Gerard, a French Hussar of Napoleon's army, and the product of the great Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I still laugh recalling my first time reading his 'hot take' of the Battle of Waterloo, where the cream of French military excellence was unjustly beaten by nothing more or less than 'British beef'. In his own words, " If you had seen these fierce old veterans going into battle, with their flushed faces, their savage eyes, their furious yells, you would wonder that anything could stand against them. So high was the spirit of France at that time that every other spirit would have quailed before it; but these people, these English, had neither spirit nor soul, but only solid, immovable beef, against which we broke ourselves in vain. That was it, my friends! On the one side, poetry, gallantry, self-sacrifice-all that is beautiful and heroic. On the other side, beef. Our hopes, our ideals, our dreams- all were shattered on that terrible beef of Old England. "
I hadnt heard of Sharpe before your Sharpe battle reports, since the last one I've started watching it and I gotta say I love it hahaha. And having watched them it makes the battle reports even better
did Le Sharpé find a silver sword in turn 2, so should have earned greater glory? Always love watching your videos, and hadn't heard of silver bayonet before
It's not super clear who picked it up, maybe Le Buffet had it all along? 10:25 is where they mention it. Lewis probably would have given it to Le Sharpe but since Le Buffet is canon now...
I think ive said it before, but it bears repeating. Love ypur method of presentation! Its all the best parts of wargaming; the dramatic rolls, the highs and lows, the camaraderie, the strategy, the humor and above all the adventure! Im including you too peachy! Keep it up lads! Cheers!
These are the best Battle reports of any system I’ve ever seen. Can’t wait for more! Fascinated by how you do them too, it looks like you film them and then record a chat walkthrough afterwards and cut the two together, is that right!?
For all those in the comments talking about Le Sharpé having a silver or blessed sword, it was acutally the female Soldier Scully who got it. In the members cut we see her pick it up.
Tiny Toy Peachy finally redeemed himself after his last showing where he couldn't hit the ground with a dropped bullet. Hopefully next time Tiny Toy Ben can have a redemption arc.
Le Sharpé does it again! A true hero. I love this kind of emergent storytelling where some originally no-name officer from a previous game happened to win a string of victories and become a major character!
I am here for the blossoming Romance of Sharpe and Buffet the Vampire Slayer, which started when Buffet killed Sharpe's undead pseudo-wife. How Romantic. 🥰
id encourage anyone who wants a 'Sharpe' to have a look at captain Blundt from tangent miniatures. theres also Parris, Swagman, and the infamous sarg Larper.
Peachy is always a treat. Great video as always! Apart from that minor mistake with the (SPOILERS) Vampire and Le Sharpe fight! Hope his survival rolls weren't affected because of that. I also really want Harper to stay alive lol
